I am a huge fan of Catherine and I know a lot about her, going back a few years.

She suffered greatly with post natal depression, this came after having to undergo an emergency c-section to deliver Eric. She was unable to breastfeed which made her even more depressed and in the middle of all of that, she was writing her comedy show.

She’s also an only child herself, and grew up without a father. Her desire for a bigger family shouldn’t be seen as her frowning upon an only child.

As someone is an only child, I’m not offended in the least when people say they want more than one child. I myself hope to have at least two children after knowing how lonely having no siblings often is. There are definitely benefits to being an only child-receiving all your parents’ love, resources, attention, etc.-but there are also benefits to having more than one. After knowing first-hand what being an only child is like, I want to try it the other way. Calling people judgmental and close-minded for stating their opinions is a prime example of the pot calling the kettle black.

I love Catherine Tate. I’m a huge fan of “Doctor Who,” and I think she’s a fantastic actress.

I’m glad she’s optimistic about having another baby. I’m very happy for her.

I am an only child. Sometimes I miss having siblings and sometimes I think it’s great being an only child when hearing on what my friends’ siblings are up to etc.

I loved her this season on Doctor Who! I never knew she had PPD.

I am mother of an only child and sister to eight people. I don’t take it personal when people say “I wouldn’t want my kid to be an only child” because I understand the joy of siblings and I don’t take it personal when people say “big families are not for me,one is enough” because I also understand that.I don’t think her intention was to bring families of one child down or frowning upon it, she has the right to decide which way to go: one child, more than one child.

I think she just means that it would be nice for Erin to have a brother or a sister.
I grew up as an only child and I would of loved brothers and sisters. Everyone is different but I believe being an only child affected me in many ways. Not anything major. But when I would go and visit family, everyone would comment on how spoilt I was and how I hadn’t learnt to share…ect.

It seems that people with siblings always say they would love to be an only child, and only children want brothers and sisters Lol.
