Kate Hudson Opens Up About Young Motherhood
In the September issue of W magazine, actress Kate Hudson shares some intimate details of her private life — including stories about son, Ryder Russell Robinson, 4 ½. (At the end of the interview, she even orders a dessert to go, just for him!) Kate says,
He’s super-athletic. I just signed him up for tennis camp. He’s very good at riding a bike — no training wheels. And he’s skiing! I was at that age too, but not as good as he is.
Kate, now 29, was just 24 when she gave birth to Ryder, and while most starlets are still out partying ’til the wee hours at that age, Kate doesn’t regret her decision to become a young mom.
Am I gonna look back and say, God, I wish I could have gone to that…that…concert? No, I’d rather be listening to my son sing songs. I’d rather be watching him sleep.
Though divorced from Ryder’s father, Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, 41, Kate feels strongly about keeping the family threesome as intact as possible; as an infant, her biological father, musician Bill Hudson, was absent from her life. While refusing to discuss other men, Kate explains to the interviewer that, "We can talkabout Chris till the dogs come home. I married Chris, I had a baby withChris, Chris will be in my life for the rest of my life."
We iChat with Chris constantly. No matter what is going on in my life, relationship-wise, Chris takes absolute precedence. It’s important for Ryder to hear me say how wonderful Chris is, and how much Chris misses him.
