David Beckham and his wife, Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, 34, are "enjoying our three boys at the moment," but that doesn’t mean that they don’t envision a little girl in their future. The soccer star, 33, shared at the Teen Choice Awards that more kids may be in the cards for couple because "Victoria wants a big family," with David adding that, “I know she would love a little girl."

The couple, who have been married since July 4, 1999, are parents to sons Brooklyn Joseph, 9 ½, Romeo James, 5 ½, and Cruz David, 3 ½.

What bugs me is that there’s this idea that they wouldn’t be happy with another boy. The only reason they’re always talking about having a girl is because people ask them that everyday.
What are they gonna say? No, we don’t want a girl?

If you asked them if they would like another boy I’m sure they would also say yes because they ADORE their sons.

It was actually from the TCA press room: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WapYl8b0CZo

Romeo will turn six next month! Time flies.

the doctors told her she cant have another C-cection, this would be her 4th and that’s dangerous.

MB on

where did you hear that helen? just curious. my friend’s mom had 7 daughters via c-section before they told her no more. so, they adopted a son.

Jacky, I totally agree……they are such a nice family of all boys, and I think it is annoying how every reporter or talk show asks them if they want a little girl, like they shouldn’t be satisfied with all boys.
As a mother of a baby boy, this annoys me as I would be perfectly happy if we ever have another baby and it’s a boy.

I know its annoying, but its just natural. People are so courious about others. Plus victoria never kept it secret she wants a girl, so maybe thats why htey ask them even more

helen – the story about her being told by doctors she can’t have a 4th child was made up by a british magazine. The Beckhams have never commented on this.

All women are different – my mum had 5 c-sections, and just like victoria her first born was an emergency c-section and so subsequently her following births had to be c-sections – something which David has confirmed is the case with Victoria. The british magazine who invented this story did so in order to blame Victoria for not being able to have a 4th, all because she was “too posh to push” in the first place. Victoria Beckham never elected to have a c-section – Brooklyn never turned in time and so would have ended up coming out bum first, because of her frame her doctor decided it was best to go for a c-section.

The british press are just vicious towards Victoria Beckham and this was another one of those occassions!

It really bugs me too about the girl thing. I, too, am a mom of two boys, and it bothers me to no end when people say “So when are you going to try for a girl?” What, we can’t be happy that we’ve been blessed with two healthy boys?
If we ever have another baby, I almost hope that it’s a boy too … at this point, I don’t know if I’d know what to do with a girl!

I completely agree about the girl thing too. David ALWAYS says that sure he’d like a girl but he’s busy enjoying his boys. If they never had another kid, I know they’d die happy because they had Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.

I think the couple do a good job of answering the question. They also bring their answer back to emphasize on how much they love the boys they have. I’d love to see them have another child, girl or boy! And if they really really want a girl, they could always adopt!

Not to start anything but has anyone seen VB lately? Just wondering because there hasn’t been many pics of her.

I guess I’m the only one who “gets it.” I understand why people would assume they would want a girl (well, other than the fact that they said it). I know if I had 3 boys and tried for a fourth, I’d hope for a girl. Sure, I’d be a little disappointed if I had another boy but would he be loved any less? No. Maybe it’s just me.

I doubt 4 c-sections would hurt anybody.

I guess I can synthesize with the Beckhams. . for example, my parents wanted a boy back when IVF first became popular in late 90s, since they have the three of us. . . (of course, we three girls were excited lol) But I think its mainly so the only female or the male family member can have some sort of common gender thing with someone other than a pet. Plus Victoria has mentioned things about wanting a girl. It’s not bashing sons or anything like that.

And plus, the “Daddy’s Little Girl”, now what daddy wouln’t love that idea. just joking btw

Randi-

I know, right! I’m a big fan and there’s hardly been any pictures of her lately. She is in the new issues of Vanity Fair and Glamour, though. And she was at the Teen Choice Awards, you can see her clapping here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKKZTGNICM4

You can also see Josh Holloway (Lost) shaking the boys’ hand, adorable!

Jacky on

But its not like they’re “desperate” to have a girl. They are happy where they are. It seems like such a double standard though because if a guy has three daughters, asking if he wants a son is gender discrimination but after 3 boys everyone asking over and over again if they’d like a daughter, that’s normal?
