Jack's Harvest Frozen Organic Baby Food: So Yummy You'll Want to Eat It Too!
Now that my baby is eating solids, I want to make sure I provide her with organic, quality food — and Jack’s Harvest Organic Frozen Baby Food definitely fits the bill! We recently tested out their Lip Smacking Sweet Potatoes (with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla), Tango with Mango (mango with a squeeze of lime ) and More Peas Please (peas with a hint of mint). Each ziploc bag costs $6 and contains twelve 1-oz heart shaped cubes.

All were a big hit withAllegra, especially the sweet potato and the mango. These three flavorswe tested are part of Jack’s ‘So Smooth’ flavors. My baby couldn’t getenough of the sweet potato and the mango. Sometimes I mixed it in withbarley or oatmeal cereal, sometimes she just ate the purees. Sheenjoyed the peas too but she didn’t go as nuts over it. When myhusband, my 2-year-old and I tasted the foods, we loved the sweetpotato and the mango for the natural sweetness. My husband told my sonthe sweet potato was pie — it really was delicious. I also mixed thesweet potato into my son’s macaroni and cheese (like I do with thevegetable purees I made from Jessica Seinfeld’s Deceptively Delicious and Missy Chase Lapine’s The Sneaky Chef).
Jack’s Harvest is owned by two moms, Heather and Connie, who wanted to serve their children the healthiest food possible. The organic produce in their baby food is hand selected from local farmer’s markets by Jack’s mom, Heather. All foods are prepared in a certified organic kitchen. The ziploc bags with the frozen heart shaped cubes of baby food arrived perfectly frozen from Georgia, courtesy of dry ice.
In order to dispose of the dry ice, Connie told me to "unwrap the dry ice and leave it at room temperature in a well- ventilated area. It will go from a solid to a gas. You can also set it outside, if appropriate. Do not touch it with your bare hands. Use an oven mitt, towel or tongs. And of course, keep it away from children. Also, do not leave it on a tiled or solid surface countertop as the extreme cold could crack it."
We are now very big fans of Jack’s Harvest. We can’t wait to try more of their delicious frozen organic baby food!
