Pete Wentz Talks Nurseries, Baby-Proofing and More
As wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz‘s speculated due date approaches, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz is getting parenting tips from all sorts of sources. Says Pete,
The best advice my dad has given me was, go with your gut. And he saidyou can’t really have expectations. If I have expectations that he’s[the baby's] going to be a rock star, I’m sure he’ll come out being into sports, andif I have expectations that he’ll be into sports then he’ll be intomath or something.
He continues, "I’m just going into taking it one step at a time, and I’m just excited to meet the baby."Though rumors have swirled about the baby’s sex, Pete, 29, claims, "Contrary to the stories out there, we don’t know the sex of the baby. I’m a person that always likes to be surprised, so I like towait for the surprise."
Regardless of gender, the couple have started preparations for the arrival of their little one. "We’ll baby-proof the house," Pete says, "get the nursery ready." And for a theme? "It’s not a secret, but it’s more of a privatething. I haven’t really figured it out yet, so I don’t want to go outthere and say what it is and then have it not be that."
If all else fails, the rocker does have another source of parental inspiration. He jokes, "I’ve watched Look Who’s Talking and Look Who’s Talking Too."
