Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Show Off Knox and Vivienne

Angelina_jolie150x200Actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie introduce their 3-week-old fraternal twins, Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline, in the latest issue of PEOPLE. Delivered by c-section on July 12th in France, the twins are featured in a 19-page spread in the magazine this week, along with older siblings Maddox Chivan, 7 this week, Pax Thien, 4 ½, Zahara Marley, 3 ½, and Shiloh Nouvel, 2. The issue will be released on Monday. For the international Hello! cover, click here to visit HelloMagazine.com.

Talking about their growing family, Angelina tells PEOPLE, "It is chaos, but we are managing it and having a wonderful time," while Brad adds, "It’s still a cuckoo’s nest."

The pair, who deny having fertility treatments — "If they had been conceived through IVF we would have been happy to discuss it" — shared that they were "in shock" when an ultrasound showed twins. "We could not stop laughing," Angelina says. "We burst into hysterics," explains Brad.

My sister had made a joke about twinsliterally the night before, because my grandparents and sis both hadtwins. Angie was on the table during the sonogram, and we were inhysterics. We didn’t see this one coming.

Brad described the naming process for the babies, as well as their looks and personalities, to Hello! and PEOPLE. While Marcheline is in honor of Angelina’s late mother, "the name Vivienne came to us early, as if she named herself. She hasalways been Viv." Knox is named after his grandfather, while Léon "is a classic French name."

I dare to say that Viv is proving to resemble Angie in spirit, attitude and physicality. She is quite elegant like her mother. And Knox, he’s a bit of me. He likes music like his dad. When he was born he looked like Putin!

The older siblings are extremely involved and love having new babies in the house, Brad and Angelina share. "This is Mad’s fourth and fifth time at becoming an older bro. He’s asking us when we can have more!," Brad says. The girls are equally enthralled, Angelina reveals.

Shiloh calls them her babies. She and Zahara pick out their clothes, help change and hold them. It’s sweet, they are like little mommies.

Angelina, who is breastfeeding the twins, tells the magazine that keeping the babies on the same schedule has been a key to their success. When Knox and Viv are done nursing, the other children like to hold them, and also help with baths and changing.

A: They eat every three hours and I’m getting better at holding them both for breastfeeding at the same time, so that helps.

B: We try to get them to eat simultaneously for the sake of management, but it gets a little crowded at the bar!

- Robin on

Gorgeous photos. Happy family. Wonderful to see

- Kate on

why does vivienne already appear to have teeth? lol. other than that they are ordinary looking children. they look quite different than shiloh did in her pictures, their lips are not as pronounced as you would expect in a child of angelina’s!

- lena on

They are so beautiful. Knox Léon on the right and Vivienne Marcheline on the left. I have been waiting all night to see these and its not 12:35 on Monday 4 August in UK, but it was worth it to see the beautiful, healthy babies. Congrats Brad and Angelina and Best wishes.

- Elle Rose on

What A beautiful family!

- Kelly on

Wahoooo!!! Finally, they’re here!! :) Sooo cute and look at lil Shiloh holding her baby sis!!

- Doreen on

I love the picture of Shiloh and Vivienne, but I can’t help but think that People, US Weekly, and other mags only care about the biological babies of the Jolie-Pittses. It’s kind of irritating.

- Chana on

The picture of Shiloh with her sister is precious, too cute for words.

- Elizabeth on

I can’t stop looking at these pics! Sooo cute!
Looks like Viv’s got Angie’s darker complexion and lips, and Knox is a mini-Brad!

- carolina on

Awwww i love it! And Shiloh looks like a baby doll. I will be getting my issue tomorrow ;)

- Natasha on

What a jaw droppingly gorgeous family! Knox and Viv are adorable. Love the shot of Shiloh holding her little sister! Can’t wait for my copy of People to get here pronto so I can see the rest of the shots.

- Carla on

Totally adorable! Can’t wait to get my copy of People!

- Annie-Marie on

They are so beautiful. I am so happy for them, I just love the Jolie-Pitt family.

- socalmama on

My first thought was that Vivienne looks like Angelina’s father. Shiloh’s face is adorable in that photo.

- Marilyn on

Oh my, that picture of Shiloh with Vivienne is ADORABLE! I see Vivienne looks just like her mother too. As if that family needed yet another knock out! LOL I can’t see Knox well but if his father says he’s a bit of him I guess the female population is doomed in 20 or so years. :P Can’t wait to see the rest of the kids and the newest addition together!

- Grayson's Girl on

Such a sweet sweet picture. I can’t wait to see the rest so I can see all of the kids. People should have had Maddox,Pax and Zahara on the cover too or should have only had Brad and Angie and the twins on the cover. I know I shouldn’t complain but People dropped the ball on this one. I’ll buy Hello instead.

- Faith on

If you go on Hello magazines website there is another picture on Brad and Angie with the babies check it out! Just as lovely as the People cover…it reminds me of when they posed with Shiloh.

- Robin on

Now that’s how to do a photoshoot with your children.

No playing to the camera, no expensive clothes and jewellery, or ridiculous props. Just a happy family in the safety of their home.

Beautiful images, as we all knew they would be, can’t wait to see the rest.

- Amanda on

that smirk on the one on the left…looks like a smirk Brad would make, right?

- dickie on

aww Shiloh is adorable. These photos are gonna be so sweet.

- jeanne on

damn that pitt with his strong nose genes!

they’re really beautiful. but still just babies, no matter how famous the womb they’ve been living in for the last nine months is.

still, congratulations, to the Jolie-Pitts and everyone anywhere else who has given birth to babies and loved them.

also, I want to see Mad, Pax and Zahara!

- Atti on

The HELLO! picture shows Vivienne has HUGE lips! Think Knox has nice average ones which is good for the boy but with Angie, Shiloh and Zahara having large lips would be wrong for Vivienne not too!

Can’t wait for the full spread.

Also like the ‘baby’ clothes so far, always felt Shiloh’s clothes in her debut were not cute or girly.

- Emma on

They look a lot like angelina and a lot like shiloh. Same lips and nose, the twins will favor the voight genes a lot. They just have darker hair and more complexion, but they look a lot like shiloh. People magazine must know people are curious about shiloh too, they put her on the cover with viv lol. Cute pictures

- brooke on

well i’m going to be now ( almost 2am in france) but i will buy the magasine first thing tomorrow!

- sushi on

Cute overload !!! I am so going to buy that mag. And now I want twins too !!!

- Molly on

What a beautiful photo. The twins are just precious. I love the pic with big sis Shiloh. I can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures, especially with the entire family.

- Amanda on

All together now:

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

The girl looks like Angie and the boy looks like Brad. Shiloh looks so grown up holding her baby sister!

- Judy on

Remember Shi was significantly larger when her shots were taken-hence them looking different. I think they will have just as pronounced lips as Angelina-they are just so tiny right now.

Beautiful pictures. I found it funny how in Shi’s shot, Angelina was in a tank and jeans-looking more like hip more and in these photos it is lace top/or nightgown….looking slightly less “cool”. Does that make sense? Anyway, great looking fam! Congrats!

- Sharon on

Gorgeous!
I like this cover photo much better than the one in Hello!.
Shiloh is absolutely beaming! What an extrodinarily beautiful little girl she is.
Can’t wait to see pics. of the twins with the other kids as well.
:)

- Fiona on

how can people who are commenting on their features actually see them? the photo is so small.

- megan on

The babies are gorgeous, and the parents look so happy. Congratulations again.

- Freya on

Oh how beautiful they both are. Viv looks like a tiny Angie..so far, and Knox like a mini little Brad. Precious. Love Shi with her little sister too. Can’t wait to see the other pics..and the other children too.

- caris on

Awwww! What a beautiful photo. I can’t wait to get my copy of People tomorrow!

- Danyelle on

Ooo la-la – I love them!

I’m in love with this People cover. What a beautiful family shot. Both babies look mighty adorable and that pic of Shiloh holding Vivi is jusy beyond cuteness!! I will definately be buying this mag this week to see the rest of the shots!!

- Kelly on

Gorgeous Babies!!

Can’t wait to buy my copy of People Mag!

Knox and Viv are so beautiful and Shiloh is a cutie on her picture. Can’t wait to see the twins with the older kids as well.

- Stéph on

I can’t wait to buy my copy tommorrow.

- (LOVE- J ) on

And how grown up does shiloh look in that picture? Seems like just yesterday she was a tiny baby herself. Everyone looks so happy. Can’t wait to get this magazine!!

- caris on

Awwwe so adorable. What precious little angels they are. The pic of Shiloh holding Viv is too cute.
This is just a tease so cant wait to buy the mag tomorrow. Brad is on cloud 9 and Angie looks so angelic.
Congrats to this happy family!

- BAMPZSKV Lover on

Look at Shiloh’s expression!! It says, “Look at me, I’m a big sister!” Too adorable….just too adorable…I can’t take it…!! *passes out of cuteness overdose*

- Nausicaa on

Viv and Knox are just ADORABLE.

On the Hello cover, Viv is the spits of Ange – down to a tee! I think Knox looks alot like his daddy! They both look so much different and yet so much alike to their parents!

I bet Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh are so proud.

I totally understand where you are coming from when you mention about certain mags seemingly only interested in the biological children! It would have been so lovely to see Zahara, Pax or Mad posing with one of the twins (or both) on the front cover. Ah well, at least they’re all inside!

I really hope there is at least one picture of all six children together! Especially if they are with their parents.

Love the pictures, can’t wait to go and get my copy in just a few hours time! Sleep first though!

- Jess on

I am so disappointed in this cover. While I’m sure the inside has a beautiful set of images of the whole family, it’s unfortunate that the cover features only the biological children of Jolie-Pitt clan. It certainly isn’t representative of their family as a whole. Shiloh is a beautiful child and just as important as any child in this family but I’m sure there are pictures of Maddox, Pax, and Zahara with their new siblings that are just as cute and cover worthy as Shiloh’s.

- scully on

Hey CBB what gives? Where’s my comment? Now that you are owned by People am I not allowed to say I prefer the Hello cover?

- Faith on

So precious..I love Vivienne’s smile. Shiloh looks like a proud big sister. Anxious to see the other kids and the rest of the pics.

- tia on

Adorable. Definately going to be buying that People Magazine. The picture of Shiloh and her baby siter is so cute!!!

- Brooklyn on

Shiloh looks beyond thrilled holding her little sister. I bet their home is a study in beautiful chaos. I don’t care what some think, I’m so happy they found each other.

- María2 on

The pictures are cute. I’m sure the other children will be well highlighted inside the issue. I agree with an earlier post. No fancy props, or clothes. They look like any parent with newborns. I’m glad they keep it real. Angie looks like an Angel and Brad seems so in love and happy. Can’t wait to see the other pics tomorrow. I will also buy Hello. They may have different images.

- debra77 on

If he gets those Jolie lips, do you think Knox will be a blonde James Haven?

- Lilybett on

OMG the one with Shi and her baby sister is so cute!!! And little Vivienne smiling, so precious!! Ugh of course the two most beautiful people in the world would have the two (well 3) most beautiful children in the world!! Can’t wait to pick up the issue to see the beautiful pictures!! *squeal*

- JM on

They are so cute! No surprise there.

I wish they had done a cover shot of the whole family or ALL of the kids.

I’m looking forward to seeing pics of the other 3 with the babies.

It appears in both covers Viv is on the left, Knox on the right. I managed to make the pics bigger. Hope that helps some of you with questions!

- charity on

How are you all seeing A & B in them? They’re just 3wks old!

Chana, Lena, Jess: I agree 100%! The best pic woulda been Maddoz, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax sitting with Vivi & Knox on their laps. That cover pic woulda got critical approval, fan approval, & Im sure won some media/magazine awards.

I’m surprised if A/B didnt have final say on the pics…see the proofs.

I think the Hello cover is better, thought honestly in both covers 1 twin isnt shown well.

Cool that Vivi smiled.

- maddox rules on

If Shiloh wasn’t on the cover, everyone would be asking where is shiloh. Let’s not let A magazine’s pictorial decision start negativity..not on this tread..please.

- caris on

Scully it’s just bound to happen that the 3 biological children will get the attention. I am sure the other children are included and I can’t wait to see them with the babies as well. But the cover I think is simple and beautiful. The magazine won the rights to the photos and paid 14 million for the twins and not for the whole family. So that’s probably why it’s only Brad, Angie and the babies on the cover.

Shiloh now just looks so big and grown up!!

- JM on

Wow, beautiful babies, and look at Viv’s lips!! She is all Angelina right now in my opinion.

So glad to see Shiloh with her little sister, and I can’t wait to see the other little children. Brad and Angie have 6 beautiful healthy children, they are so blessed.

- annie on

HOW PRECIOUS IS THAT PHOTO OF SHILOH HOLDING VIVIENNE? That photo just melts my heart :)

This family is so blessed with such beautiful children – both adopted and biological! I don’t agree with some of the posters upset by not having the adopted children on the cover too – there are 19 pages of photos, I’m positive there are adorable pictures of the other kids with the babies too!

If it were me, I would want a photo of just the three of them too. Not to take anything away from Maddox, Pax or Zahara – I would want photos of them all together as well, but after all, those babies are Shiloh’s biological siblings! And it’s cute to see them together and compare which one of the new babies looks like Shiloh!

I can’t wait for the issue tomorrow!

- mamabear on

Awww they are so cute. I love that picture of Shiloh holding the baby. Angelina looks so beautiful and serene.

- Carol on

They look like babies. Many blessings to the family.

- Victory on

I like both covers, but prefer the People cover. I love the looks on Brad and Angie’s faces. Cute that they put that pic of Shiloh holding her sister..it was always in my family that the littlest got to hold the new baby first, to make her or him feel special and included. That pic is so adorable, no wonder People decided to add that to their cover. Perfect tease to get us to wanting more..and i do…

- toni on

Those lucious lips are a dominant trait. They are so cute. I can’t wait till tommorrow to get my issue.

- Jennifer C. Donnelly on

I think Shiloh looks a lot like Angie in that pic. She is a perfect blend of her parents. Hope we see pics of Madd, Pax, and Z holding the twins too.

Love this family…

- dora on

They look like angels…Many blessings to the family.

- jorney on

Does anyone else think that Angie seems more at ease with this pregnancy and birth?
I think it’s because with Shiloh being her first biological child she did not know exactly how to feel and was scared that she would love her more (remember the Elle UK interview). With the twins she already knew her feelings would not be different so she was more relaxed and comfortable with this pregnancy and birth.
I agree that they look tiny compared to Shiloh’s debut pics but they are twins who only weigh 5 lbs at birth. I actually wish she would have put the in “cooler” clothes like she did with Shiloh.

- LolaCola on

FINALLY! The wait was worth it. The babies are adorable, big sister Shiloh is no longer the baby, but from this pic, seems to be cool with that..and Angie and Brad look overjoyed!

- aimee on

I agree Scully. The entire family should be featured, not just Shiloh. They are adorable twins, but I do not like the fact that their older children were not featured. Will it always be like this? The biological are more important than the others? Lest we forget that Maddox was first, it was just he and Angie for awhile and he’s just as deserving along with Pax and Zahara. I hope they don’t continue to just grow their family and treat each child differently. Especially on things such as this.

- Tish on

I think both babies will be fair complexed like Shiloh. They are adorable and for some reason I expected babies to look like Max and Emme Anthony.

- Morgan on

mamabear said:

That’s quite possibly one of the worse comments i’ve seen so far on this site and I just had to comment. Why is it more important to see a picture of Shiloh with her biological siblings, her siblings are her siblings regardless. It’s attitudes like that that clearly show there is a huge bias regarding adopted children. If I was an adopted child and my parents made it a point to get a picture of just their biological children, I would be incredibly hurt (No I am not saying that’s what A&B did, I bet they had no idea People would include that little inset.

It’s a real shame that People decided to include just Shiloh on the cover, it should have been just the Twins or all of the kids, that’s just my humble opinion.

- Haylo on

THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL! THE PIC OF SHILOH HOLDING VIVIENNE MAKES MY HEART WRENCH!! ITS SO PRECIOUS!!!

- natalie on

Can’t wait to buy the magazine for the rest -such a beautiful cover though!

I disagree about the biological children – Shiloh is a new big sister and rightfully gets a cover shot capturing her awe in the matter. If anything, I think with the biggest concern being NOT to overshadow the adopted children with attention, its actually been Shiloh that seems to get overshadowed. Not disappointed at all in the feature shot of the ‘baby no longer the baby’ – great choice and I’m sure there are plenty of beautiful family pics on the inside of the whole sibset.

- April on

THEY HAVE 3 GIRLS, AND 3 BOYS!!! CAN THAT BE ANYMORE PERFECT?? THEIR WHOLE FAMILY IS GORGEOUS. THEY MAKE BEAUTIFUL BABIES. SHILOH IS SO CUTE AND BEAUTIFUL! SHE LOOKS SO HAPPY! I’M SURE SHE IS SO PROUD SHE IS A BIG SISTER!

- natalie on

Beautiful family.Brad so protective and in love with his family. That Angelina Jolie is so beautiful. When Zahara was included in the Shilol Pics people started to morn about Maddox. The cover is the parents and the twins,Shiloh is a small one at the top.19 photos we’ll see all the kids for sure.

- Blessing on

While I think it would have been fantastic to have the whole family on the cover I think some people are overreacting. The other children will be in the spread in the magazine. It’s not as if they have been forgotten about.

The twins look adorable although I think it’s a shame that on both the People and Hello covers (I much prefer Peoples) one of the twins (I think it’s Knox in both) aren’t shown properly.

- Freya on

Haylo – I think mamabear used the wrong word in saying ‘important’ but I think what she meant was that it’s interesting to see how they compare to their biological sister in terms of looks.

- Freya on

Of course People went with Shiloh on the cover, she’s the one everyone is interested in. It’s been like that since her birth, and it’s not going to change anytime soon. She is their “real” child, after all – every single news article has to mention how the other three are adopted. That’s just how a majority of people, including some in these comments, seem to think.

The twins are adorable, and I think Vivienne looks like Brad with Angie’s lips, like Shiloh did. I’m thinking she’ll start looking more like Angelina when she gets to be Shiloh’s age. You can’t really see much of Knox.

I, personally, hope there’s a picture in there of Maddox with one of the twins – he’s their oldest brother, and I would love to see him cradling one of the twins.

- Nicole on

oh for Pete sake people, Madd, Pax, and Zahara have already been featured in People magazine more than Shiloh has. Everyone wanted to know where Shiloh was in the pics of them in Vietnam. People comment here all the time when we see the older kids and not Shiloh out and about..now, shiloh has a small pic on the top of the cover..and people have to complain about that!!!

Shiloh was the baby of the family until the twins, just coincidentally she happens to also be a biological child…so? I know Brad and Angie don’t distinguish between their children.
I wish others would not also.

- caris on

I love the picture of Shiloh and Vivienne, but I can’t help but think that People, US Weekly, and other mags only care about the biological babies of the Jolie-Pittses. It’s kind of irritating.
———————————–
IAWU
We are going to have to be happy that Angie and Brad love all of them. Part of the work that this couple does is to break down all the divisions in our society and the world. Black /White, Biological/Adopted etc…. It is very irritating but it will take a while, in 20 years less (well I may not be around) I hope its just Brad and Angie and their children. I am happy the family is thriving, can’t wait to see the entire spread. God bless them for trying to set a good example as best they can.

- Loren on

I don’t think it can be said that the rest of the family is not featured, as it is a 19 page spread. Angelina and Brad did not choose who to put on the cover, the magaizne did, so there is no evidence that Brad and Angelina are treating their children differntly at all. Two years ago, it was Shiloh on the cover and the magaizne chose to put a picture of the ” older baby” with her new sister. Not saying it was right, but it does show some symmetry. Shiloh and Brad were not included in the photo spread which introduced Pax, so again, who is to say who is being favored. I agree that the whole bio vs adopted is getting old.

In any case, beautiful pictures on the cover and looking forward to seeing more inside. I like the natural way they do photo shoots, they seem simple and loving, not posed. Little make-up and no designer clothes. White seemed to be the theme. Gorgeous family.

- Mary on

I love the picture of Shiloh and Vivienne. I can’t wait to see pictures of the other kids as well. Hopefully they have a group shot!

- terri on

It may be bound to happen but I don’t agree that it has to. I enjoy People magazine and their history of refraining from emphasizing Shiloh’s biological connection to Angelina and Brad. I don’t believe that the fact that Maddox, Pax, and Zahara are adopted or that Angelina was pregnant with Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne should be ignored because neither of those connections with their parents or each other is lesser than the other or something to be ashamed of. But I would think that over-emphasizing one connection, regardless of which one, would be difficult for the other children. People’s cover disappoints me because it is not representative of the Jolie-Pitt family or, from the tidbits they have released, the quotes inside the magazine. It would have been nice, for instance, if the inset picture would have been Zahara with one twin and Shiloh with the other to go with Angelina’s “little mommies” quote. Instead we got a very beautiful but very selective picture that is supposed to represent what’s inside.

- scully on

I think they should have not put just Shiloh and Vivienne on the cover, there should have been a little photo of all the kids holding her not just single her out for the cover because she is their biological child.
I am sure there is more inside though.
And what is it with the teeth comments, the same thing was said about Shiloh and her gums.
the are going to be gorgeous kids and very much loved, congrats to all of them

- shannon on

Of course if Shiloh had NOT been on the cover, then they would have gone off about how Shiloh is neglected and nobody loves her. Geesh, Shiloh gets attention they don’t like it, if she doesn’t.. they accuse her parents of neglect, silly.

I personally never thought, oh look, only the bio kids are on the cover. I thought just that they added Shiloh because that was such a cute pic, and she was the former baby of the family.

Of course I never looked at pics of Madd, Pax, and Z and wondered where Shiloh was or thought Shi was being neglected.

Those that see race and color immediately are the ones with the problem in my opinion.

- junie on

I think the photos are precious, esp the one of Shiloh but I have to agree with the others-either all the kids make the cover or none. The large shot of B/A and the twins alone is fine. Shiloh’s pic clearly sends a message- the bio kids are more important. I’m sure A/B didn’t make the decision about the cover shot but it’s a sad statement all the same. Shame on People mag!

The point about Maddox is a great one- he was the first- I’m sure he remembers when it was just the two of them.I hope he continues to have that special bond with his Mom. Anyway…Beautiful pics- Beautiful Mom and Dad- Gorgeous family!

- Nina on

awwwwwwwwwww yayayaya! im so excited. I wish you could see the other babys face better but I’ll see it Monday because I’m for sure going out to buy that!! Shi looks SO happy!

- ERICKA on

I admire this family, but I would really enjoy just once not having everything that is done concerning them over anaylyzed and not enjoyed for what it is. When Shiloh is not in a picture there is “where is Shiloh or they don’t love Shiloh”. Now she gets a picture and people complain abot that. These are some really beautiful pictures, but people always find something to complain about.

Just loosen up and enjoy cute babies and gorgeous parents. Everything is not a conspiracy.

- Mary on

Mary, I could NOT agree with you more! This is a happy and beautiful time for this wonderful family. They have two new gorgeous members and I have never seen Angie look more beautiful, more at peace and I’ve never seen Brad look happier … why must everyone be so dang negative all the time? Just ENJOY this for what it is and STOP finding something wrong with everything that is said/done/posted!

Yes, they are cute babies but all newborn babies are cute but comeon $14 Million get real.

The first thing I thought when I saw Shiloh on the cover was “Oh look she’s so pretty”. Then I thought hmm it would have been nice if they had put a picture of them all up rather than just Shiloh, because some people are going to act stupid. I’ve seen many people discounting the adopted kids, and a cover like this just gives fuel to that fire, I hate to see that division made.

I have a problem with the justification that it’s ok because after all Shiloh and the twins are their biological children, which one of these posters so nicely made.

I never see pictures of any of the kids and say “man where are the other kids”. I come from a large family and I know all about some kids getting left home at different times, and some kids getting left out of pictures. But in a magazine like People, they had to know what including just Shiloh on the cover would lead to.

The way to bypass all the drama that always pops up when it’s a debate over bio vs adopted was to include all or none. That’s just my opinion.

- Haylo on

…and the nitpicking begins, good lord.

- Ange on

People magazine made a business decision to put that cute pic of Shi and Viv on the cover too. if you have a problem with it, take it to People Mag. Im so tired of everything..even the happy occasion of seeing the twins for the first time, being turned into some kind of controversy..

Let’s just enjoy the pics for what they are..PLEASE.

- patrice on

I think this is the first photo I have seen of Shiloh smiling, which is understandable because of the paps… how sweet that she’s so happy about her little sister!

- Allison on

In the People picture, Vivienne looks like Brad but in the Hello picture she (and Knox) look like Angie. So I’m thinking she’ll end up looking like Shiloh who is a perfect mix of both her parents. She looks beautiful holding Vivienne. Can’t wait to see the rest of the kids and the whole spread.
I hope life isn’t too crazy right now with 4 kids and 2 babies!

We have to remember that Shiloh, and now Knox and Vivi are the only of the J-P children to make the People magazine cover as brand newborns! Maybe the matter is just as simple as that! Anyway I’m sure that all of the kids are featured prominently within!

- Chicki on

People was smart to add the Shiloh pic, that is unbelievably adorable and will make me want to run out even sooner to find a copy.

Im not the biggest fan of this family..I like em ok, but Shiloh is just a doll baby. Hope they have more pics of her as well as all her brothers and sisters.

mamabear,
Who cares about biological. They’re all siblings. That is what matters!

I love how they didn’t dress up for this photo shoot either. Just like two regular parents……..except that they’re gorgeous!

so unlike some other celeb moms, who are all made up.

Hope I can find the magazine tomorrow.

I think both covers are nice, but I think Hello made the right decision to put only Brad, Angie, and the twins on the cover. I don’t think Shiloh should have been singled out. Yes, I have a right to my opinion, and I don’t think anybody should be uptight about that.

That said, the babies are precious, but the pictures are too small to get a good look at them. I’ll check out the pictures in the magazine tomorrow.

- Shanique on

Love, love, love the pic…They seem so natural and well adjusted…God bless the Jolie-Pitts!

I think that Shiloh is featured on the cover to rebuke the ongoing allegations from the tabloids on how she was having anxiety and tantrums about the pending arrival of the twins. Look how sweet that pic is of her holding her baby sister…Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!

I will definely buy me a copy tomorrow if I can find one…Looking forward to seeing pics of the entire family.=)

Before making a comment about how this topic is being “over-analyzed” or comparing it to the candid paparazzi photographs that appear daily it would be constructive to think about whether or not you, as an adopted child who looks nothing like your parents or sibling, would feel about this cover. This is not a random candid. It’s a well-planned photo spread that is introducing your new family (in the sense that it is now x-many members instead of y) to a very interested world. It is far easier to ignore the homogeny of this cover or the irrelevance of who’s on it when you are not the child who has had to and will always have to deal with living in a society that has a very strong focus on the biological, nuclear family. Whatever reason the editors at People magazine had for putting the five biologically related people on the cover (and I’m sure it wasn’t a “conspiracy” or even malicious at all) they should have asked themselves how it might look to one of the older children looking back at their baby brother and sister’s birth announcement. Arguing the biological/adopted debate is absolutely getting old when its over the daily candid of who’s gone to the grocery store more times in the last month with mommy or daddy. But it’s not so petty when such a well-planned, thought-out, highly anticipated and widely viewed occasion as the Jolie-Pitt twin introduction has a cover that is missing half of the family who happen to all share a common trait.

- danie on

which one is smiling? Knox or Vivienne?

love the pics, not going to let some negative nellie’s spoil this for me, no matter what they say.

You can tell one of the twins (the one on the left in the HELLO magazine cover)definitely has Angie’s lips;) Of course, NO surprise the babies are just darling. I’m so happy for this couple! I genuinely feel that having/raising a family is what they’re devoted to :) It’s nice to see.
p.s. It looks like Angelina has little to no make-up on in these photos and she still looks beautiful! If only Jessica alba had gone that route maybe her debut photo wouldn’t have looked so photo shopped.

- kiley on

Is that pic of Shiloh not the cutest? And the babies are so beautiful!! (not to mention the parents) Angelina has never looked more lovely or serene. I’m sure the other pics will be just as beautiful.

wow mamabear. not sure what to say and others have covered it but .. just wow.

can’t wait to see these pics. I agree that its way too early to see who they favor :) but they are pretty much covered in terms of good looks. can’t wait to see all of the photos of this gorgeous family (and I prefer to think they are highlighting Shiloh’s new big sister status rather than her biological status.) love the image of Z picking out the babies clothes – her age probably makes her just about right for “being in charge!”

- brannon on

Brad is so loving rubbing Knox’s hand and Viv’s head.Angelina Viv and Knox all three in Daddy’s arms.

- Blessing on

Those lips are definitely a a strong gene. Seems both twins have their infamous pout. And the photo of them on People, with Viv smiling, that is so cute.

I can’t really tell who they look like, but Viv does remind me of Angie’s baby photo I’ve seen floating around. My only nitpick is that each cover doesn’t show off Knox very well, just a side profile each time, but Hello!’s version does have a better viewing of him.

They’re still too new to say who they look like, but they do have some characteristics, at least the lips and Viv making me think of Angie’s baby photo.

And, of course, Shi and Viv, too cute. Especially how Shi’s face seems to light up. I can’t wait to see more photos of the Z, Shi, Pax and Mad with two new kiddies on the inside.

And, to me, Brad and Angie embody parents of newborns there. [Seemingly] no makeup, natural, exhaustion settled in their faces, but still beautiful. Real. They look lovely–on both covers. But People’s cover is getting me because of the dream-like expression Angie has, and the way Brad is gazing down at the twins.

I can’t wait to see the other photos in the mag, and read the rest of the interview.

I must say, I like how it seems that Angie and Brad keep the glamor out of their baby debut shoots. It doesn’t scream “Hollywood”. They, and Matt and Camila, have had the most natural-looking covers. No big to-do with the makeup and clothing or anything–just natural. The main focus is the parents and the new happiness added to their life and family. Period. I like that. I can relate to that aspect of it.

Wow. I’d really hate to be one of the adopted children in this family at this momemnt (not all of the moments, but this one for sure).

And I’m sure that ALOT of the adopted children across the world are feeling dissapointed. It goes to show, that no matter what people say according to society the “adopted” are “not real family” at all.

Not only are those adopted babies going to grow up and realize that their “siblings” pictures were worth millions, but showing the “family” on the cover of People is really going to be icing on the cake.

I hope that Brad and Angelina are not happy about this cover.

Awe, what beautiful babies, and so tiny! Very tastefully done, and maybe this will defer some paparazzi attention?
As an adoptive parent myself, I am actually not bothered by the other kids not being on the cover. People has done a nice job of covering the adoptions over the years. Shiloh is a proud big sister for the first time–that’s special, too.

Well, I’m adopted, and I don’t feel at all disappointed. My personal opinion is that you are over- reacting. The adopted children had special attention paid to them over the years in People magazine. Most likely they will be also shown in this edition as well.

Brad and Angie treat all of their kids the same, they are all loved equally. If you have a problem with the cover, then you should be complaining to People Magazine website.

Let’s all appreciate, congratulate, not instigate.

Great post. ITA The way the children are being raised will offset any supposed drama about a magazine cover.

Hello only has the twins and Brad and Angie, People added a pic of Shiloh. This really isn’t the place to protest this decision. People has their own web site where you can express your disappointment.

- bridget on

I don’t know. I’m pretty sensitive to the adoption and inclusion issue for several reasons I’ll leave as my own business. But, if all 6 of the children had been biological, and they had shown the baby of the family holding the babies in that little picture in the corner…would you guys be making such an issue? I seriously doubt it. If anything, you’re the ones that can’t stop dividing the children, and stop seeing the children as biological vs. adopted.

- carie on

The cover photo is beautiful and looks very natural. I give them kudos for that because so many celeb photos are just too perfectly posed. The photos really make me like them. LOL (and I didn’t before)

As for the bio/adopted issue, I see both sides. I do think it was more of a business decision, meaning the photo of Shiloh would sell more. I can see the “new big sister” angle but I also think they should have seen the possible implications of such a cover. They could have been aired on the side of caution and used a shot of all the kids but it’s time to just be happy for them. Enough criticism, this is such a wonderful time in their lives.

LOL! Get over it people. There have been plenty of magazine covers with Maddox, Z, and Pax.

People magazine paid $2 million dollars to charity for pictures of Pax.

One magazine cover that does not have them will not ruin their lives forever. There are 19 pages of pictures in the magazine. Just wait a while and you will see all of the kids. Quit trying to make a issue out of every tiny thing. The world is full of drama queens.

OK, I am confused….Is this a special issue? It says on news stands tomorrow, but the most recent issue (the one with the missing little girl) just came out Friday and I got it in the mail, as normal, yesterday. People’s are never put on newstands on Mondays. So, I am curious if this is a special issue. Also, if anyone knows…if it is a special issue, will I get it in the mail with my subscription or will I have to buy it? I don’t want to buy it if it will show up in my mail.

On that note…SOOOO cute! I cannot believe how big Viv’s lips are on the cover of Hello. Just like Shi’s where when she was born. Sooo cute! I have been waiting for this! Can’t wait to see the mag!

- Philippe on

As an adopted child, this stings. Not because of the cover, per se, but because of its context. Every kid has to deal with different challenges growing up whether adopted or biological. That’s life. If you have a loving family and secure relationships then it turns out well. But when you’re a kid and going through those hard times, it’s tough, right? Well, when you don’t look like your parents and some of your siblings, one of your big challenges is that you grow up constantly negotiating who you are, where you came from, and how you fit in. And until you become a secure adult, it’s a bit of a sensitive subject. And to have to have it printed on millions of copies and cost $14 million? The seven-year-old in me really feels for the oldest child right now. They look like great parents and great kids and I bet they’ll be able to deal with this challenge just like any other adoptive family but it can’t make it easier to have it so prominent. I like reading everyone’s opinions but I’d like to know what other adoptees are feeling about this cover if they’re reading this site.

- Lizzy on

Well the point of the cover and story is introducing the twins, and I think it would be a little difficult to fit the whole family of 8 on the cover without it looking posed. The pics with just mommy/daddy and new babies in a natural kind of angle makes for a better cover.

The twins look happy and healthy and i’m picking up a copy tomorrow to see all the kids/the whole family in the pics. As well as to read the interview.

Thank you, Jessica, for bringing some much-needed common sense from the standpoint of an adopted child into what was degenerating into a ridiculous argument.

If Z or Mad or Pax was on the cover holding one of the twins, I can just imagine it now: “Where’s Shiloh? Wassamatta with Shiloh? Why don’t they love Shiloh?” etc. etc. The same baloney the haters have been whining for the past two years, every time the older children are seen in a photo and Shiloh is absent.

It’s a lovely photo of two proud parents and two beautiful twins, and a very cute insert of an adorable little girl holding her equally adorable baby sister. Just appreciate it for what it is.

- Judy on

I have a feeling that if the other picture was of one of their older children, people would start the whole where is Shiloh debate. It wasn’t too long ago that some people accued Brad and Angie of ignoring Shiloh. Such a nice cover is ruined by negative comments. I don’t understand why people are attacking Brad and Angie for it when People chooses what goes on the cover.

Some people have said they don’t understand the fascianation some people have with this family, well I can’t understand why some people have fascination with commenting on how much they dislike this couple and attack them any chance they get.

- Renee on

My GOD…..Sooooo cute :)

- Alina on

wow. there sure are alot of people calling the posts about how mad pax and z might feel “silly” and “negative” and “annoying”. i haven’t seen any posts that have been any of those words. the majority of the posts that have addressed the adoptive/bio issue have bookended them with very nice comments about how brad, angelina, the twins, and shiloh look on the cover. i think both opinions are valid and it’s interesting to read what people have to say and what experiences they have to bring to the discussion. please don’t ruin it by telling people to accept it for “what it is”. i’m pretty sure no one here really knows “what it is” unless angelina, brad, their kids, the photographer, and the editors of people magazine are all posting in concert with one another on this site. and even then, it’s always open to the interpretation of the viewer as to “what it is” for them. skip the comments whose tones are going in a direction you don’t like so that others can read a variety of opinions, experiences, and takes on things rather than just one.

- Dinah on

I think Vivienne is the twin with the darker hair and Knox’s hair is lighter, almost dark blonde.
Of course, I’ve only seen the pics on CBB, so I can’t be sure.

I’m tired of everyone being so critical of them. They just want to have a big family and they have the money and love to do it.And I agree with what someone said everyone is complained about how they left the other kids out(the adopted ones.Well let me tell you, its hard to fit a family of 8 on the cover. And besides that the focus of this issue is on the twins so even if they got all 8 of them in there, the twin wouldnt be showing as much.Anyway I usually dont buy gossip magazines unless there is a good article but Im thinking about buying this one becuase the cover is so cute.

“But it’s not so petty when such a well-planned, thought-out, highly anticipated and widely viewed occasion as the Jolie-Pitt twin introduction has a cover that is missing half of the family who happen to all share a common trait.”

———————-

Well, to be fair, the shoot was not pre-planned or thought out in the sense that People decided which pictures they wanted to take in advance, then posed the Jolie-Pitts once they arrived. In fact People didn’t directly take the pictures at all. A photographer from Getty just took a bunch of different photographs, probably with input from Brad and Angelina, and probably including Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh in equal quantity. It wasn’t until after that that People bid on and won the the rights to the images, and then had to decide which image they would use for the cover from the set they had been given. I can almost guarantee that their thinking when making that choice wouldn’t be along the lines “hmm, now should we select a picture with just the bio kids or the adopted kids too?” More likely they just thought “now which is the absolute cutest pic we can put on the cover?” The expression on big sister Shiloh’s face in that picture looks like just the ticket.

I love these pictures and cannot wait to see the rest of the set. For any other Australians, the magazine to secure the rights here hasn’t been announced yet BUT for the first time ever New Idea isn’t on shelves today, and it has released a statement that: “New Idea will be available on Tuesday and we’d like to advise readers that it’ll be worth the wait. We have a few surprises in store.” Sounds like they’ve picked up the rights. Can’t wait!

- Cora on

I came to this website because I was curious as to how the twins looked like and now that my curiosity has been satisfied,I don’t think I’ll be going to the store in order to read the full story and I have certainly no intentions of buying the magazine. The amount of money paid for these pictures is absurd and I don’t care if the money is going to charity. Selling pictures of your children in exchange for money is wrong, in my opinion. Especially since these pictures will do nothing more than to increase the media attention focused on this family and minimize any semblance of privacy Brad and Angelina have attempted to create for their children and thus depriving the children of a normal life.

It’s kind of bizarre how so many people seem to have such a strong connection to this family to the point where if someone brings forth a critical opinion as to whether it was good thing to sell the pictures or questions why Shiloh was put on the cover they get so upset.

Lastly, I would like to echo some of the earlier comments regarding why Shiloh is featured on the cover instead one of the other children. I think the answer is simple, the editors of People probably feel that having Shiloh on the cover will help sell more magazines than a picture with any of the other three children. The editors have intentionally or unintentionally singled out for favor the biological children over the adopted children. I hate bring up the race card but there is a possiblity that maybe race had something to do with the decision. After all, Shiloh is white and the other children are Asian and African.

- Di on

Some people are never happy it seems.

One moment:

“she loves her Adopted kids more now she loves her Biological kids more”. “What a terrible Mum? Why isn’t permanently perfect like the rest of us?”

You guys have to make up your minds which it is, because like me, am sure Angie is getting a whiplash now.

- taegan on

Yea I totally can’t help but to be a little disappointed with the cover. Like why they can’t put another insert with either Mad, Z, or Pax with the newborns. Yea I know it should not be a whole “biological” vs. “adopted” issue. BUT THAT IS seriously how People magazine is portraying it to be. Bad move on People’s part. Just my opinion.

Ahhw, the twins are so cute and Brad and Angelina look very happy! I wish them all the best.

I don’t really understand why there is a discussion going on when the images have been on the web for only a few hours. The magazine probably just thought it would sell best this way, because many people love to see Shiloh grow up because she has the looks of 2 beautiful people. So what?
And as long as B & A treat (and love) all their children the same way, there really is no problem. And I’m very sure they do!!!

- jackie on

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! I know they’re newborns, but the twins are absolutly adorable! And that picture of Shiloh holding Viv? Even more adorable! In fact, I think that’s the most adorable picture I’ve seen of Shi, and also the first one where she’s actually smiling! :) Personally, I agree with the commentors who have said that PEOPLE probably included that photo because Shiloh is a big sister for the very first time. I also agree that it may have partially been to dispell the tabloid rumors about Shi being jealous of the twins.

Also, Mad, Pax, and Z have all been featured on the cover of PEOPLE at least once. Z was featured when she was newly adopted (however, I’m pretty sure the pics inside were just pap pics, as I remember hearing that Angie didn’t do a photoshoot with Z). Mad, Z, Shi, and their parents all appeared on the cover of PEOPLE’s Best and Worst of 2006 cover (the photos were taken in Maddox’s homeland of Cambodia).

Pax, of course, was featured on the cover shortly after he was adopted. I don’t remember whether Mad was featured on the cover when he was newly adopted.

Anyway, I remember Angie saying that Z was jealous of Shi when she was born…But Z was only 16 months when Shi was born, still pretty much a baby herself. Shi, on the other hand, is two, so I’m actually not surprised that she seems to be doing well with her new siblings.

As for Viv (love that nickname, by the way!) appearing to have teeth, I’m guessing that she has what are known as Epstein’s pearls. They look like teeth, but are actually harmless fluid-filled cysts. They are actually quite common: According to Wikipedia they occur in 65 to 85 percent of all newborns. They usually clear up on their own within a few weeks of birth.

It could also be that the camera flash reflected off of Viv’s gums and made her look like she has teeth. All of that said, I’m hoping that Viv will keep what appears to be her mother’s brown hair. :)

I am hoping with all my might that this issue will be in my mailbox tomorrow, as I am leaving on a three-week vacation tomorrow, and it doesn’t make sense for me to buy the issue when I already suscribe! :)

Why not wait to see all the pictures and read the article before making such harsh judgments about the cover. All the kids have had their own cover. Maybe Shiloh was on the cover not because she is a bio baby but because she is the youngest and it’s cute to see her holding one of the new babies.

- lac on

I think shiloh is on the cover of the magazine, because honestly people are curious about her, plain and simple, same goes with the twins now and forever. Come on they got 4 million for shiloh and 14 million for the twins, enough said. Right, wrong, or whatever, the public, media, etc will always wanna see who viv, knox, and shiloh look like as they get older, just like they do with all celebrity kids, even when they are older like say bruce and demi’s teenage daughters. Shiloh, viv and knox look very cute on the cover, they all have the same lips.

Brad and Angelina look so happy and content too. I love how normal they are, like a normal family. Angelina isnt wearing a ton of make up or wearing a fancy dress or jewelry…they just look so real..like real parents..well, because they are.

Bless this family. And all the families of CBB.

- willow on

It may seem really stupid – - but on both this cover and the Hello! cover, Brad looks exhausted. And honestly – - I like that they chose not to be completely photo-shopped.

I was looking back at the cover for Shiloh, and they look even happier and relaxed (if that’s possible) than they did with her!

Wishing blessings and happiness for the family!

- Gabrielle on

As an adoptive mom I take no offense on the cover at all.I like this family and though I won’t buy the magazine I think the children are darling.IMO we need to remember that magazines are meant to make money, they don’t care about the feelings or the emotional security of anyone. Those things don’t make money.Shiloh makes LOTS of money for them (and now Knox and Vivienne too).Pax, Maddox and Zahara are profit for them but probably not nearly as much because what makes the real cash are Angelina’s and Brad’s genes together, not the children’s personalities, interests or ideas.

What we need to remember is that our children won’t take offense or feel represented by enterprises run by strangers if we give them the attention and the education they need.My daughter loves Brad Pitt (actually Louis from Interview with the Vampire but whatever) and loves babies,I’m sure she would not be hurt or feel insecure because of the cover, actually she wouldn’t even stop to think “how come they only have the bio kids?” She knows she’s mine and that is the people who love her and educate her that matter.Magazines,Hollywood and the press should not tell children around the world how to feel.

PS. hope I didn’t offend.

- eva on

all of the children have beautiful features! Z’s gorgeous complexion and Shi’s big lips, etc. I am so excited for the family to celebrate these new twins. Some look at their bunch as being a bit out of the ordinary and extreme, but why should it be? If you have the means to support a large and diverse family, then by all means, do it! They are a fine representative of all of the families out there with adopted AND biological children. I hope more people are able to appreciate families in all shapes, sizes, and cultural backgrounds!

- Bea on

The photo is really cute but I just love the one of Shiloh holding her sister..Just PRECIOUS!Shi is a GORGEOUS little girl!

ps Where can I find the magazine in Italy? I need to buy it lol

- Eleonora on

Loving the babies!! And the picture of Shiloh and the baby… beautiful!!!

On the ongoing debate… my first reaction when I saw People’s cover was like Oh, they just featured Shiloh, their biological child… And then something inside me realized that that reaction was my prejudice speaking… because I knew and I too was making the difference… Why could I not just think, oh, that picture with the smallest kid is gorgeous… No, I thought that picture with the biological sister… So just maybe, prejudice and difference is in the eyes of the viewer… I know I’m working on it, and just being a little concious of where this “overcompensating” feelings come from, can help overcome prejudice…
I think for one thing it is good that Brad and Angelina don’t overcompensate with their kids, because that is just the same as making a difference, as: I am too concious of your feelings all the time because I know you know you are different-lesser than my other kids… Overcompensating is as bad as making a negative difference… Only everyone keeps quiet about it…

Anyways… You can never please everyone… Everyone can have an opinion, and everyone can choose to build their family as they see fit… I personally love that they take the word inclusion and diversity all the way!! KUDOS to them… just raising so much debate is great because maybe some people will open their eyes to adoption, inclusion, diversity and equality. JMHO

- marje on

I don’t think anyone needs to worry about their non biological children. These children are not going to be raised as typical Hollywood kids who would be obsessed with being on a magazine cover. Besides, they have already had covers of their own.

I love this family because the kids are all loved equally. Angie looks with love on her kids, regardless of how they were born, Brad says all his kids are like his blood to him, as much as he is theirs; when asked about Zahara, He said he couldnt imagine life without her.

These children will grow up knowing they are special and loved for who they are. They will travel the world, meeting people of different cultures..they will learn what is and what is not important in life.

But most of all, they will grow up secure. If they think anything about this cover, it probably would be how proud they are that their little brother and sister’s birth, could help so many needy children across the world.

Vivienne and Knox are adorable! :-)

And that picture of Shiloh holding her baby sister is precious! Shiloh has gotten so big and is such a cutie!

Can’t wait to see the rest of the photos.

Congrats to a beautiful family and the pic of Shiloh, how incredibly poised she is, is way too precious to hide inside the mag.

- Sasha on

They are gorgeous babies – the hello cover really shows their lips ;-)

the thing I really like – they’re hardly airbrushed. they look just as tired as any normal parent with a newborn! x

- Natt on

Why, oh why, can’t people just enjoy these photos, and leave the drama outf it. Why shouln’t Shiloh be on the cover holding her sister. There are lots of photos of this family featuring Z, Maddox and Pax, and Shiloh is not present. So now because she is being shown on the cover, some are trying to cause a controversy.

And i believe it is totally innocent. It was just two short years ago, it was Shiloh who was the cover baby, and now here she is, a big sister. I think the posters who are trying cause drama, need to stop over analysing. Please, just enjoy the pictures.

- dianad1968 on

Don’t know, who is who lol but that smile sure makes baby look like dad.

Congrats again to the whole family !

Wow, this cover is even more beautiful that i was imagining it. What beautiful little babies, what a happy looking big sister. Im speechless, i am without speech/ lol

- vera on

I really believe that there is a site that posters go to to get their talking points for the day, when it comes to this family. Today, its “COVERGATE”.

This is Shiloh’s time to shine. Please dont rain on the posters parade who are enjoying these pictures. Dont take the fun out of a special time for fans who admire and appreciate this family.

- dianad1968 on

I love these pictures! Hope I can see the rest tomorrow with the whole family.

This is how I like to see celebrities with their new babies. Real. Not made up, not wearing full makeup and dripping in jewels. Not gazing at the cameras, but looking at their babies.

What beautiful parents, what beautiful children.

- newley on

Wow!!!! What a beautiful cover. I’ve been subscribing to People for years and this is my favorite cover so far. Everything about it is absolutely adorable. I can’t wait to see the rest.

My aunt couldn’t get over Vivienne’s smiling face. She said that baby knows how lucky she is that’s why she’s smiling. LOL!

- Faye on

At first glance it’s easy to protest that the cover is somewhat bias. However if you think about it, why wasn’t it just Shiloh and Knox instead of Viv? IMHO, it’s nothing more than to satisfy everyone’s curosity over the resemblance between the 2 sisters; and their smiles.

- Su on

Looks like Vivienne is smiling. Do you have to buy this issue or will subscribers get in their mailbox? I have the subscription. I wouldn’t be surprised if People try to make this a newstand only issue to make back the money they spent getting these pics!

- JessicaT on

Is it me or is Vivienne smiling?

- JessicaT on

The hard fact is, is that the biological kids sell more magazines. A pic of Zahara with the babies wouldn’t sell as much as a pic of Shiloh.

I hope Mr. Pitt and Ms. Jolie wont be whining about privacy anymore. 19 pages into their family’s world. They need to learn that celerities do not control the media and the media will only get more hostile as a result of this.

I don’t understand why people can’t learn from Cate Blanchett, Julia Roberts, Halle Berry. They say they want to create a stable envoriment for their children, but Brad and Angelina have only served to make things worse with this.

Babies are very cute and look like… well they look like mine when mine were that age and probably yours when they were at that age.

They cannot have it both ways. They think this will make the media leave them alone for a while. Ever heard that phrase. Give ‘em an inch, they take a mile…

- SJ on

What a precious picture! Love the look on Angie’s face. And Brad looks so very proud. That pic of Shi holding Viv almost makes me teary eyed..ok im a sap but…I really love the pics. People did a good job so far, can not wait to see the rest!

- bryant on

Awwww cute kids. Love the picture of Shiloh with Vivienne. Too bad we can’t see Knox :( but congratulations to the Jolie – Pitt families.

- Bancie1031 on

Omg how cute are the twins !
Knox has definitely inherited Angie’s lips just like Shiloh. I think he’s going to look like Angelina’s brother
Bless both of them and all the other kids !

- gall on

I would be pissed off If I was one of the adopted kids. Why only Shiloh with their sister? Of course the adopted children are included inside the mag, but I think it’s very bad People only have Shiloh on the cover, like she after all is the most important of the siblings. “The other ones are just adopted.” Not biological. How can Angie and Brad accept this? I would not like it and I sam adopted in a similiar family lile Brangelinas…

I think it’s funnt that their 3 youngest children are biological, and their oldest are adopted.

- Bea on

Aw they’re cute. Knox looks like Shiloh. He’ll be a mini Brad pitt! Vivienne looks more like Angelina. Shiloh is adorable and elated. I’m happy she’s on the cover because this picture is just so precious. I’m happy that she’s here since she wasn’t included in the issue introducing Pax. I’m happy to know Maddox will be there too since he wasn’t in the issue introducing Shiloh.

- Jade on

Maddox has always been left out and had to grow up faster becasue of his younger siblings. Always have to be the big mature brother. When Viv and Knox is seven like Mad is now, they will be treated as babies caus’ they are the youngest. It feels like Mad has to grow up faster caus’ he has so many younger siblings…

- Lena on

Shiloh looks so adorable! The photo with her little baby sister is very cute… I love their family and can´t wait to see the other pics…

- Tiara on

The Hello magazine picture is much better than the People one, so check it out! Beautiful babies, lovely picture of Shiloh with her sister. Still really hate the names, but those children are so genetically and financially blessed that it really doesn’t matter about the details like that! I’m in the UK and my daughter and I will be going out to buy Hello magazine. She loves to look at baby photos almost as much as I do!

- phoebe on

What a spectacularly beautiful photo!!! Angelina looks so natural, and the twins are gorgeous. The Jolie-Pitt clan would have to be the most beautiful family on earth!!

- zaraB on

I Just picked up my copy of hello here in the UK and the pictures are wonderful. Both babies have the jolie lips and actually look identical (even though they are boy and girl!!) Pax looks like a little darling with his hair! I love how they haven’t dressed the kids up smart or anything…looks like the cameras just turned up one morning and didi the shot in whatever everyone had on already!

Beautiful parents, beautiful babies, beautiful family

- tabby monroe on

I’ve read through most of the comments regarding the bio-children being the only ones on the cover, and let’s face it, of course that is the reason they are there! Compare the coverage of when Shiloh and the twins were born and when Angelina adopted the older three (Brad adopted them later as I remember?), and you’ll see exactly why Shiloh was on the cover and not the others. Personally I think they should’ve featured all the kids because I can’t wait to see a picture of the family in their entirety, but the magazine is a business and they know, unfortunately, that the bio-kids are more of a fascination than Maddox, Pax and Zahara.

For the record, I think the attitude that allows the above to be true is absolutely repulsive. My brother and his wife have adopted two beautiful little girls and they are as much my nieces as my sister’s biological son and daughter, and my parents treat them exactly the same as they do my own little girl. We don’t make a distinction and anyone that calls my sister’s kids my ‘real’ niece and nephew gets a ticking off. I sincerely hope that as the children all grow up together that the media does not perpetrate the idea that because the older children are not genetically connected to the younger ones, that this somehow makes them less important. They are siblings, brothers and sisters, and this is what counts. Congrats to the whole family.

- phoebe on

i love the pics, how cute! however if angie says something that people perceive as negative towards Shi then people get up in arms, if they dont display every child they have on the cover then people get up in arms. i am sure there is plenty of pics of all the kids inside the magazine. if another celeb had 6 bio kids and they only showed the last three on the cover nobody would say anything about it, but if people think they have neglected their adopted children then people read alot into things. if they were to show all the kids on the front cover then they would have to have a folding cover and them people would read into it who was on the back side of the cover and not on the front page.

They’re cute :) I especially love the picture of Shiloh with Vivienne. It’s adorable!!

- Aelys on

Lovely pics!!

The bio/adoption-discussion makes me a bit sick. I bet Angelina and Brad never discuss this issue. The just love all their kids and they treat all the kids the same. You guys don’t. You’re the people that, with this discussion, show that you’re the ones that see a difference between adopted and biological.

I bet Shiloh is just on the cover because she was holding one of the babies. That’s it, you guys are all overreacting imho.

- Marie on

What a wonderful family !! Good role models indeed. I love how Angelina looks so “natural” vs. all made up for the cam..really adds the reality !!

- Denise Briggs on

the people shot is lovely – but i love love love love love the hello magazine cover. it’s so different from all the other celebrity baby shoots… typically with mum made up (eg. christina + j.lo) wearing couture and hair coiffed… ange just looks like any other woman. natural, no make up, nightie. beautiful and natural. kudos to ange for saying NO to airbrushing! of course, it does help that you’re the most beautiful woman in the world. they’re a lot darker than shiloh, but i think they’re very similar in the face.

- loz on

Chana you’re so right. It’s kind of irritating that the Magazines only care about the biological Jolie-Pitt children.

- Stéph on

wow, some people are never satisfied and have to complain about something don’t they! The magazine cover was totally about the twins, which is what was the point. WHO CARES about Shiloh being there too??? In a small pic holding her new baby sister? Maddox, pax, and Zahara are experienced big brothers and sister. This is new for Shiloh. I think everyone is getting a little overly sensitive about this thing. Guess you can’t please everyone and there will always be someone to bring up negativity.

- tink1217 on

- Mel on

Let’s not forget that People chose the cover photos not Angelina and Brad and People is in the business to sell magazines. A little teaser picture of Shiloh in the corner is going to make lots of people pick up the magazine and buy it. Shiloh was a big story, much bigger than Maddox, Zahara, or Pax for People although I’m sure for Angelina and Brad all six of their children are loved equally. Relax everyone.

- Carol on

Shiloh is so beautiful! They are like Parental Super Heroes, anymore, eh?? They can do things we normal parents cant! Bless their hearts for making us rethink parenting. The one thing that I do love about them is that they have oodles of money and help, but the kids are always with them. More then any other celebrities. Those kids are so lucky and beautiful!

- aurora mia on

Got my issue of Hello this morning and they are just the most beautiful photos. I especially love the one of all eight of them together – none of the children are posing just being themselves, Maddox and Shiloh are messing about together.

Such a gorgeous family.

- Livy on

I would have rathered People either include all the older children on the cover or none of them but I really don’t think it’s a massive drama. They made a business decision. End of.

You guys won’t be disappointed with the pictures inside either. Absolutely stunning. My favourite being the whole family across the end of a bed, Pax pointing his toe at the camera, Angie holding one twin and smiling with Zee next to her, Brad has hold of the other twin and Maddox is lying on his back with Shiloh in his lap, lying on his chest. I also liked the one of Brad with his boys, both of whom are holding a twin. But seriously all the photos are so beautiful and natural it’s hard to pick favourites.

Hopefully CBB will put up more pictures soon!!

- Amanda on

I want to second the CBB readers who have pointed out how natural the parents look. It is so much nicer to see Angelina looking gorgeous and real than some of the other celebrity moms we have seen lately who are so made up and photoshopped I hardly recognize them. I think this is one of the reasons people can relate to the J-P family – they are not afraid to look imperfect.

- paula on

No negativity or drama for me. They are just pictures and nothing more. This family is just so beautiful and the pictures say so much about this group. Fun, beautiful and natural.

- Mary on

“They think this will make the media leave them alone for a while. Ever heard that phrase. Give ‘em an inch, they take a mile…”

Ah yes, but all media is not created equal ;) There are different levels at work here. You can’t lump paparazzi in the same basket as editorial journalism, as for example. By appealing to one level of the media, they indirectly snub the lower levels, who subsequently miss out on a piece of the pie. It’s a complicated business, and not so cut and dried as some would make out.

I just saw the pics and they are all gorgeous. What you will see is a normal, happy, loving family. Exactly the opposite of what the lying tabloids love to print. Good for them to do this for the fans and for charity.

All the children are looking so cute and happy..Zahara is stunningly beautiful!

What I like about the Hello and People pics is how they don’t look all staged, I mean, they look like a photographer showed up one Sunday morning not long after they woke up and started taking pics,….Im sure that isnt how it happened ..but it looks so casual and real. The parents look understandably tired, but beautiful and soo happy. The kids are soo cute and seem to love their new siblings.

All the children are very beautiful and most obviously loved kids.

Thanks MEL for that link to see the scanned pictures inside Hello’s magazine.

You can see them much better. I think that Viv looks like Angie but with Brad’s nose.

Shiloh is so cute!!!

Angie looks amazing & natural. I doubt there were any stylists or make up artists involved.

They also deny the use of IVF…if they say so…but I still have some doubts. In any case, its their life & what I think is just my opinion.

I just wanted to say that as an adopted child, I take no offense to the fact that only the twins and Shiloh are on the cover. I think Shiloh is adorable in that picture and that is the only reason she is on the cover. It also shows what Viv could possibly grow up to look like.
I’m sure Mad, Pax, and Z would not be offended to not be on the cover, who knows if they will even see it.

- Coley on

If they say that they didn’t use IVF, they didn’t. Angie is nothing but honest..plus, there really was no time for her to have such an invasive procedure. My sis went through it..no way could she have filmed a movie and gone through that. But tabs always have to make some kind of drama where none exists for the family.

Im glad that was straightened out. US magazine loves to lie about this family..they have a long history with Brad.Brad bands them from his interviews with good reason.

LOVE THE PICS, GONE TO GET MY COPY NOW!

It is really funny how when NONE of the other kids are on the cover,NOONE cares. When Shiloh is nowhere to be found a riot starts. All of there children should be treated equally, but in reality they will not. Shiloh,Knox and Viv will ALWAYS be shown better treatment from people in society. Maybe one day this world will realize that ALL of those kids are their’s no matter if 2 are Asian, 1 is black and 3 are white.

I just picked up my Hello during my lunchtime break. Quite funny to see how many women were wandering around the shop with their copy safely enclasped in their hands!

When I got back to my office, myself and my co-workers looked through the pictures and we agreed on these things:

1. Zahara ia absolutely beautiful. Amazing complexion, gorgeous eyes and a wonderful smile. She will turn some heads when she’s older.

2. Angelina and Brad have never looked happier, or more tired!

3. Apart from their lips, it is really hard to make out any of the twins features yet.

4. We all said we would much rather see these kinds of photos of children rather than candid paparazzi pics.
The difference is startling. In these pictures, the children look so happy, confident, safe and loved. Brad and Angelina have created that environment for them. Compare them with paparazzi shots when the children often look confused, scared, annoyed and down-right angry.

I know some people argue about the morality of these kinds of photoshoots but I know which type of photos I would rather see of these children, any day of the week.

- Amanda on

I don’t get it. Babies are babies. They are all beautiful and precious – whether they are born to rich & famous parents or to a regular person. I don’t see anything special in these photos.

I just looked at the scans and I have to say I love the big boys hair! Mad looks like such an old pro. I can also see why they picked the Shi picture for the cover insert. It sticks out as the “I’m a big girl now” shot. I wish the shot of Shi on Mad’s lap was of them sitting up instead of laying down but I guess that just shows the kids were doing what they wanted to do during the photo shoot.

Yes, and think about the REASON Shiloh will sell more covers–if you want to be in denial, that’s fine, but the truth is because of the blonde and blue-eyed (white) ideal. I’m more than sure it was a business decision, but there is no coincidence that it had something to do with preferred asesthetics. I don’t know if you have looked at a magazine lately or watched a television show, but it’s still a huge problem in this country. If color weren’t, why would Vogue need to put out an all-Black (Or WOC)issue?? It would be great to just RELAX, as you put it, but guess what, I can’t and I won’t, not about this. As a brown woman, it is obvious that brown or semi-brown children are still less cherished, at least in the media. And we all know what impact the media has on society. The media’s impact is far-reaching, for better and for worse.

Believe me, I am 1000% sure that Angie and Brad love all of their kids equally. But why can’t the media??

I see it time and time again, people nearly going into cardiac arrest over Shiloh. Please! She’s not the Second Coming or anything near it, but people are so fascinated with the bl/blue aesthetic that they nearly trip over themselves, proclaiming a BABY “gorgeous”, “breathtaking,”…blah blah blah. Where was all this breathless appreciation for baby Z or Maddox and Pax, hm???

I don’t know People mag’s justification for having the insert with only Shi and one of the twins, but the point is it is 2008 and they could work something technically that could have included all of the older sibs holding one of the twins. Make the corner inset a little larger and the mag font smaller–PROBLEM SOLVED. And for those nagging about those who are “complaining”–this is a comment section, n’est-ce pas? Just checking.

- sinclair on

i dont know about others, but i have always thought of Zahara as a beautiful child.. and have heard others say the same. Same as with many compliments on madd and pax. They are both adorable boys… so I guess i dont see the big deal if people think shiloh is a beautiful child..cause I think she is too.

Why do all these social interests and personal issues have to be projected on this family. A family who sees not color but the person…all the kids are beautiful. Shiloh’s pic was precious and was a good choice for the cover in my opinion.

- finley on

What a beautiful family. The fact that she is breastfeeding both is so wonderful. Congrats.

I’ve heard more people describe Zahara as breathtaking than I have Shiloh. No one seems to have gotten upset about that..and why should they? Stop pitting the siblings against each other..their own families wouldnt like it, and rightly so…

This is a time to celebrate new arrivals in this family. Im tired of the cover debate…take it to the people web site..they may have answers for you.

These pics are beautiful and I just love the looks on Brad & Angie’s faces on the People cover. The laughing baby (Vivienne) just cracks me up too! lol! And that pic of Shiloh with the baby, how adorable is that? Aw…:)

Still though as far as the reason why People only featured Brad & Angelina and their three biological children on their cover no doubt boils down to economics. Obviously People wanted to appeal to the broadest demographic possible in the USA, so they show only their biological children. (Probably in most conservative circles even that’s bad enough considering that since Brad & Angie aren’t legally married, all of their biological children are b@$!@^&$. no offense.)

- Autumn on

Oh please CBB, post a thread about a celeb family that I don’t care for so I can bish and moan too!!! LOL

I really don’t care why People mag put a tiny pic of Shiloh on the cover. it was a cute pic, but inside were many other pics, and daughter Z was more prominent. All the kids got pics taken and all were precious to see.

I really like that they look human instead of photoshopped to look like dolls. Zahara is beautiful and the photo of Maddox and Pax holding the twins is very cute too.

- sarita on

Congrats to Ange, Brad and all the kiddies! What a lovely family. The are all so cute! You can see Brad in Viv and Knox for sure(with the exception of the Jolie lips), just like you can with Shiloh. Somehow I don’t think it will be too long before the family expands once again. GOOD LUCK! Best wishes to them all!

aww soo cute!! will be gettin hello because i live in europe and im glad theres an interview this time….with Shiloh there wasnt so much!!! And Brad and Ange look more natural this time round…the pics with Shiloh looked a little too poised!!

- molly on

I just saw the full set of pictures from Hello! Magazine and the picture of the whole family together is just gorgeous. It’s completely candid and chaotic with Pax kicking at the camera, Zahara looking puzzled, Shiloh laying on Maddox, and Brad and Angelina looking frazzled and brilliantly happy holding their newborns. I love that it shows the reality of how hard and unbelievingly rewarding it must be to be parents of so many children. Gorgeous.

- Emily on

what a nice couple… the baby so beautiful and the moomy still pretty and sexy

- joels on

they have angie’s lips for sure nd viv looks A LOT like brad. i can’t wait to pick this issue up !

- Destiny on

Wow Jackie: I’m glad you’re getting such amusement out of adoption issues. I don’t quite see the humor since I’m busy trying to deal with my children’s adoption related issues. The fact that you can make jokes about a very real and important issue that adoptive families deal with every day is appalling.

- Katherine on

I have People. They are running the same photos that are in Hello.

The older kids look great. Love the pic of Pax aiming a kick at the camera. He looks so full of life and fun. Very sweet pic of him holding his baby brother.

Lovely photo of Madd with blue Mohawk holding Vivienne.

Z is absolutely gorgeous. She is going to b a knockout when she grows up. She looks so cute in the photo with Brad and the twins and again with Brad, Angie, the twins and Pax.

Brad and Angie look wonderful. So great to see unphotoshopped pics of two very tired and very happy parents enjoying their family.

- Judy on

I think the photo of Shiloh holding baby Vivienne is very sweet. As the editor of People, would I have made the choice to put only her on the cover in an inset photo, my heart says no, but my business sense says, heck yes!!!

I do remember, Zahara being on the cover of People with Angelina and WITHOUT Maddox. I even bought the issue, because I remember Angelina sayiing how sick she was when she first came home, and here was this cute pudge-wudge on the cover of People. I do remember the must be tens of thousands of photos I’ve seen of Maddox only. Of course during those times he was an only child.

I do remember the cover photo that featured Pax only once he was welcomed into the Pitt-Jolie family.

I think the public and media’s fascination with the Jolie-Pitt family goes into a frenzy every time they add a new life to their family. So while there is an uber-fascintion with Shiloh and the twins, I see this same fascination with Maddox, Zahara, and Pax, especially when one or the other parent is with only one child. Just Brad going to get a hot dog with Maddox inspires a free-for-all among the paparrazi. Maddox seems to take it all in stride, while Zahara, Pax and Shiloh are still a bit timid around crowds and press.

- sheba on

Bonnie – what do you mean “I may have taken a wrong turn somewhere”??????? I expressed my OPINION that all babies are equally gorgeous whether they belong to a celebrity or not. I didn’t call them ugly, unattractive, annoying, etc. Does that make me a bad person in your eyes? It’s a very personal comment to make and I don’t know what I said to deserve that.

- martina on

Wow the one of Shiloh and the baby are too cute. I must applaud them as parents.. At least Shiloh does not have a bottle in her mouth like other cute celeb toddlers!! Very nice looking family!

Wow, it’s sad to see so many negative comments – thank goodness for those posting peaceful, positive comments…

I got my copy of Hello here in the UK today and I bought it more for the pics of the whole family, rather than just the twins. Gorgeous family and with each child so obviously treasured.

Shame some observers seem to want to divide the children into “biological” and “adopted” when the family themselves don’t. I think People chose Shiloh because she is the youngest in the family… as another poster pointed out – if they were all biological children and the youngest of the family was on the cover, would anyone kick up a fuss?

Anyway, back to the point – beautiful babies, beautiful parents, beautiful family :)

- Laura on

I just got my hands on a copy of People magazine! Gorgeous pics, as expected–they all look so happy!

I’m not a mom, so I’d like to ask the moms out there what y’all think about the fact that Shiloh and Zahara are wearing nail polish in these photos–it almost looks like Zahara’s got acrylics on! Maddox definitely has some hair dye going on and it looks like Pax has highlights.

Is this just kids having fun or would you consider this too grown-up for little ones?

- Caroline on

It was People magazine or I hope I’m not mixing it up with Us Magazine. I still have the issue at home so I’ll check later. Angelina had on white dress or maybe it was Zahara from being on the film set and she’s holding Zahara who is about 7 or 8 months with the prettiest covered in peach fuzz bald head. I’m not sure which movie that was. Maybe Good Sheppard. I don’t think she and Brad had quite gone public with their relationship at that point.

They have 6 children. Period. Those boys are way too cool and obviously head over heels in love with their little sisters – but I must say — WOW! That picture of Z and the twins/parents. Stunning. That little girl radiates. Daddy better be ready … 3 gorgeous girls (no way Viv won’t be as gorgeous as her sisters) … at least he has 3 little reinforcements on his side now!

- brannon on

Sinclair,

I agree with your whole post. Unfortunately we STILL live in a world were other skin colors are not considered beautiful. SHiloh will always be told she is better than Zahara because she has that look. When Knox gets older the same will happen to Pax and Madd. That is why I think that its great that Angie and Brad said they wanted to “balance out the races.”

- Debra Wilcox on

OMG the pics we’ve all been waiting for , they are just beautiful and Ange looks serene and beautiful ( Brad ain’t bad either ;o), awwww they are sooooo cute !!!!!!!

- catherine on

I am sure the adopted children (Mad, Pax, Z)will have to deal with the same identity-issues as most adoptees do.

The feeling of being less wanted, especially when there are biological children in the family can be very strong. Especially in a family like Brangelina’s because the three youngest children happen to be biological. And that can be a very hard issue to deal with as you grow up.

I dearly hope these adopted children of Brangelina won’t have to feel they must be GRATEFUL or anything, just because they are adopted to extremely rich people.
They must be allowed to develope and deal with the typical identity-problems and crisis that are very common among adoptees. Especially when there are biological children involved. It makes it harder.

This has nothing to do with love. I love my parents biological children as much as my adopted siblings of course. But myself and alot of pplI know in similiar families have had to deal with many crisis. The feeling of being less wanted, not as much wanted as the bio children is a hard feeling.

God bless them! The twins are cute.

P.S. I think that Brad and Angelina should have demanded/insisted of having none of their other children on the cover(exlusive the twins of course), or just ALL of their children on the cover. To make it equal!
What does the world tell the adopted children by having a cover tlike THIS? Your parents might love you equally, but the reality is that you are less important than Shiloh, caus’ after all you are just adopted by Brangelina. That stings in the heart.

- Jennie on

martina – I have a feeling, and correct me if I am wrong, that she meant if you have issues with babies being treated differently because their parents are celebrities…then why are you on a blog dedicated to, umm… Celebrity Babies.

Just a thought.

Anyways, these pictures are adorable. You can see the love just shining off the pages. I also love that apparently they all just woke up and didn’t bother to cahnged for the photogs. It makes me laugh really.

As for the bio vs adopted. I think it bothers everyone except The Jolie-Pitts. And thats just sad.

- Michelle on

Dont know who is a fan here anymore. Ladies comon….do we have to fight for everthing that they do.
First Brad and Angie dint choose what cover to put.
Second (im not going to call them “theyr adopted kids – but theyr 3 oldest ones) are inside, even them took part of the shoot.
So that means they are not excluded, right?
On a serious note, they are just too adorable all of them. Even Brad…..kidding!

- nata on

Caroline,

I think nail polish is fine for little girls. It’s lipstick and blush other than at home that I have a problem with. (as for the acrylic comment–i think children have thicker nailbeds) If you notice in the picture with brad and the boys-it looks like Pax’s pinky fingernail is painted as well.

Maddox has always played with hair dye so that doesn’t really suprise me. They even have little temporary tattoos. Not a big deal considering their mom and dad. LOL

I just got my people mag and it didn’t disappoint! The twins are the very image of shiloh when she was a baby–it will be fun to see how much they look like her as they get older.

Z is always my favorite. She is really a beauty already!

I wish peopel would just look for the good in people (no pun intended) and stop making mountains out of mole hills.

- tippythepoodle on

LMAO, the quote where Brad said it was getting crowded at the bar made me laugh. That’s too funny! But it’s good things have been relatively smooth doing the tandem breastfeeding.

- FC on

Wow – this is MAMBEAR and I can’t believe people are so upset by my comment!
Just for the record folks – I AM ADOPTED.
I still stand by my comment – but I should explain fully what I meant. I only meant that, yes, I would take a photo of my biological kids together, but I would also take a photo of “just the boys” and then “just the girls” and then a photo of “just the twins”, etc. I do not think that taking a photo of my “biological” kids alone is a bad thing, or that I love them more. It would be used a just a photo to compare physical features, that’s all!
What family doesn’t compare a new baby with an older sibling??
As an ADOPTIVE child myself, I would have loved a photo of myself with my biological siblings – doesn’t mean I love my sisters and brothers I was raised with any less. Nope, not at all.

- mamabear on

what beautiful photos of this family ! The twins are beautiful, they have Angie & Shiloh’s pouy lips. Adorable :)

- Bee on

It seems like each of these children has a unique and very special bond with their parents and I honestly get an emotional tug whenever I see any combination of parents and children with this family as if there is an infinite number of circles that only they are a part of. The boys, the girls, the oldest, the youngest, the first pregnancy, the first experience of finding their child in Asia or Africa, their second experience in Asia, the first time there were two babies at once! All of these special little bonds within the really amazing larger family bond is just amazing to be able to see. All of the pictures are gorgeous but as a first daughter who is very close to my father I have always loved seeing pictures of Brad and Zahara together. When I opened the magazine to the picture of Brad, Zahara, and the twins with Brad’s head resting on a smiling Zahara’s head looking at her new siblings, I just couldn’t help but become teary-eyed. I couldn’t stop staring and thinking how beautiful that image was. I actually called my Dad and asked him about what he was feeling when each of my siblings were born! Such a great family and such beautiful pictures.

“@Sinclair

I think its just the way America works. I live in Italy, the black-vogue issue sold out here.
Posted by: Sasha at Aug 4, 2008 11:08:14 AM”

Sasha, Italians (*and many other Europeans) get it, but this country, not so much. It’s as if people try their hardest to maintain the status quo. This is nothing new, but it gets old for a while. I’ll be in Italy next year, and it’s amazing how much appreciation for ALL forms/colors of beauty exist there. A Black woman in a magazine is de rigeur, rather than an anomaly. Wow. Night and day, honestly.

This country is full of contradictions on so many levels–appearing to attempt to rectify past injustices, but not at the expense of the majority’s shine in the spotlight. It’s okay for so-called “minorities” to get a little exposure, so long as it does not eclipse that of the larger demographic. Everyone justifies this with, “oh, the media targets their largest demographic…” or “It’s just business..”. Um, are WE going to let the media dictate what we should aspire to or the other way around??? Unfortunately, the former has happened, rather than the latter.

Sorry for the long-winded post, but ignorance certainly is bliss for some, evidenced by the issues surrounding this cover. And ignorance shall remain bliss when you live in a “world” that looks like and caters to you on t.v., in mags, in papers, books, etc.–versus reality, wherein 80% of the population remains virtually unrepresented on a regular basis. (*regular meaning consistently and not when a mag proves they are not racist (haha) by releasing an issue w/Black models, some of whom did not even walk during NY fashion week because of said racism…)

- sinclair on

Is this issue actually on sale today (Monday, Aug. 4th)? I checked some local places around my hometown and this is what I found instead of the Brad & Ange twins issue:

*Two pharmacies (one private owner, one chain store/Rite Aid) were still selling the Aug. 4, 2008 issue with Barack Obama & family on the cover.

*A local supermarket was selling the Aug. 11, 2008 issue, with “Where Is Caylee?” (about the 3yr old missing Floridian girl) on the cover.

*Our Public Library (which subscribes to People) had the “Caylee” issue on display as the newest issue.

So I guess I’ll have to wait a few days for the Brangelina & twins issue, unless I want to drive 10 miles to B & N and see if they have it for sale. :(

- Autumn on

This is why people love this family. They are down to earth, just look at those pix… no props, makeup, fancy strollers, over the top cribs, just smiling kids and parents.
What a happy family it’s so evident. People forget that Zahara was the only one featured in Shiloh’s spread. Maddox wasn’t included. It’s not a big deal. Trust me ALL those kids know they are loved. I think it’s evident Brad and Angelina don’t give a damn what people think about them. They are raising their kids the best and only way they know how and from the looks of it, they are doing a fine job.

- Pearl on

Sinclair, I had a long post with basically what you just said in it. Thank you. The US has issues, but we are very slow to speak out loud about them. My example was all the “yuppie” shows on TV in the 90s that had not one person of color, even though they were based in New York. Of course, everyone said these were classics, and only at the end did a few of them “integrate” but only under pressure.

This couple and family try their best to show what could be. They don’t show favoritism, for which they have been thoroughly thrashed and trashed. “They don’t love Shiloh, Shiloh is neglected” if there are family photos without her. With six, it is going to be hard to have a family outing with all of them. I can hardly wait for the fallout when that happens.

All of their children are beautiful. Shiloh did not make herself the little blue eyed blond beauty that she is. Her father once made the very true statement that alot of what he got was based on his same beautiful blue eyed blond looks as a child. He understands the issues first hand. It is not their fault that society values them more. I wonder if Angelina had been a blond and not the “dark haired vixen” would people have been so up in arms when she got together with Brad. “Dark’ = bad, light=good, whether it is skin or hair.

Personally, I adore seeing Brad and Zahara. There is something about that pair that is special, but I see the same thing with Anglina, Brad and all of their children. They represent what the best of us could be if we just tried. It takes courage to adopt a child of color if you are white. Unless you have your head in the sand, we have to acknowledge there is a race problem in the states. Michele Pfeiffer spoke about the hate mail she received when she adopted her daughter.

People made a decision based on money, not fairness. Right or wrong, the adorable blue eyed blond beauty will sell because that is what sells in the US. The media does not give a hoot about fairness, just ratings, sales and the almighty dollar.

That being said, I love the photos and give much respect to this family as they are all just gorgeous and loving. All eight of them. Bless their tired hearts. Thank you.

- terri on

I think there’s too much emphasis on whether celebrities have had help to conveive or not. Look at these two little beauties – What does it matter? They’re here, they’re healthy, and they have two healthy, gorgeous parents! Congrats!

- Hayley Cook on

I just want to echo Sinclair’s posts. They were so thoughtful and intelligent and articulated my thoughts exactly. The people who think that Shiloh was put on the cover simply because she was the youngest or the picture was so adorable are naive. I can appreciate how beautiful the pictures are while still recognizing that race and biology was likely a motivating and deciding factor in the decision to put Shiloh on the cover.

In addition, some of the posters are saying that people like me are making an artificial distinction between the bio and adopted kids when it is People who made that distinction. Brad and Angelina have four children before the twins and yet only one of them is featured on the cover and it happens to be the biological child who for many epitomizes and reinforces a caucasian standard of beauty.

People magazine should be ashamed and Brad and Angelina should be outraged because I do not believe that the would support anyone favoring their biological children over their adopted children.

- Di on

I personally LOVE the fact they have Shiloh up in the corner of their page! She is one of their biological children and I wish people would get over themselves!! We’ve seen A LOT of Maddox for instance when we’ve hardly seen Shiloh. So, just get over it–some of you really love to stir up drama! I honestly LOVE seeing more of their biological kids these ARE after all their flesh and blood–sorry!

- Doreen on

When I first saw the cover and realized that Shiloh was the only one out of the four to make the cover, I cringed. The picture is beautiful don’t get me wrong. But they should have either put Z and Shi with Viv on the cover or not at all.

Shiloh’s the biological blond-haired blue-eyed child and Zahara is the adopted African child. And that’s how society will treat them.

It’s not a big deal now but when Brad and Angelina say things like “he’s a bit of me” and the biological kids all get the family names (Knox Leon, Shiloh, and Marcheline) it’s going to hurt Mad, Pax’s and Z’s feelings.

I’m saying it’s all good now, but when they get older it’s going to be tough as hell.

- Jessica on

Z had her own cover:

http://www.people.com/people/archive/covers/gallery/0,,20187422_20364434,00.html

I hardly thing it’s showing favoritism. It’s simply the three youngest. And also the two youngest girls in one shot.

- Jen on

In the magazine, they have beautiful pictures of all the ifferent kids holding the babies, and there isn’t really any prominence given to Shiloh over the other kids. Nor in the text either.

- Caturday on

I used to go to CBB because it was the only site that did not have the endless debates on Brad and Angelina posts. Unfortunately, controversy follows this couple wherever they go including CBB it seems.

Concerning the People cover with Shiloh on it, think about it this way: People magazine paid around $14 million for those pictures, they have to make sure they sell enough magazines for it to be worth the investment. A cover with Shiloh on it is going to sell more magazines than without her picture on it. It is the hard truth. I say, if you disagree with that, it is your right. But then don’t buy the magazine. And let the people who do enjoy the cover and the pictures in peace.

- carolina on

Is it possible that People just picked (in their opinion) the cutest vertical photo for the corner? I hope we can all agree that this picture of Vivienne and Shiloh is just absolutely precious.

As many of you comment on the “special treatment” afforded to Shiloh in this magazine–would it not be just as “special” for one of the adopted children to be featured here? Might we be having this same debate about unnecessarily singling out the adoptees had the cover featured Pax or Maddox or Zahara?

- Caroline on

Wow, America has a lonnng way to go in the race department.

- Debra Wilcox on

OK, I think the wheels are coming off the bus with this discussion. Since when does Shiloh have a “family” name besides Jolie-Pitt? Pax was named by Angelina’s mother and his middle name reflects his culture. Since Angelina was not too fond of the men in her life when she adopted Maddox, I don’t see her naming him John or Billy Bob. Zahara was not officially a Pitt, so when she was named, a family member would not have been appropriate and Angelina’s mother was alive. If her mother was still alive, I doubt their daughter would have been named after her. Seems like a great time to honor your dead loved ones, which they did.

Again, a factual statement is taken out of context with Brad saying Knox is a bit like him and Vivienne is like Angelina. Its called genetics. He has said many times that they are all his and are his “blood”.

I don’t want to sound angry, but how do we know how their children or other adopted children who don’t know that Shiloh is not adopted in the first place, will feel about this photo shoot because Shiloh was on the cover. She was the baby and is a first time big sister. Give the kid a break. This cover is being held out to be responsible for destroying the psyche of adopted children everywhere, when it is just a magazine, nothing more, nothing less. No one was abused or mistreated. Inside the magazine, Brad is never in a photo with Shiloh alone. Is he neglecting her as he has two with Zahara? We could go on and on.

I don’t want to hurt feelings as this seems to run deep, but I just don’t undersand why this is being taken so personally. It is just a bunch of pictures of pretty people which will be forgotten sooner than you might think. Though I do like the pictures and will be purchasing the magazine as the photos are gorgeous, including the one of Shiloh on the cover.

- Toni on

I agree Carolina, if they were paying that much money, I doubt Brad and Angie had much say on what cover People magazine picked out like some people have suggested. I think they are beautiful pictures and I wish people would stop dividing the children into adopted and biological which is what a lot of people are doing

- Renee on

Argh I ran out of work to pick up a copy of Hello, ended up going into about 4 different shops, but despite it all I couldn’t find one. I was going to get it on my way to work, but was running late, then couldn’t sneak out of the office at lunch either. So I assume all the copies were sold out! I think I underestimated the demand, but I hope Hello didn’t. Heard they had ordered double their usual print run so I’ll be trying my luck tomorrow! Trying to resist the temptation to peek at the photos on the net…

- Jade on

The Jolie-Pitts are a multi-racial family and for me, I just don’t feel the People cover is representative of their family, that’s all. Is it really a coincidence that of the four older children, it’s the biological child that gets the side picture on the cover? I don’t think so.

And people seem to forget that this is Pax’s first experience of welcoming a new life (well, 2 new lives) into the family. With the twins arrival, he is no longer the newest member of the family and probably feels more of a big brother now than when he first joined the family. It’s not just Shiloh experiencing this for the first time.

But whatever. Like so many people have pointed out, People made a business decison. As I said earlier, I would rather they had included all the older children on the cover or none of them at all. But, having shelled out so much money, they can put whoever they want on their cover. Fact is, blonde haired blue eyed Shiloh sells.

However, that does not mean that people can’t discuss or express their feelings about the cover. Some don’t mind, some are disappointed. Just because you share a different view, doesn’t make it more valid.

Also Doreen, I sincerely hope that your children (if you have any) never decide to adopt children.

- Amanda on

For me, I don’t wish to be controversial, but I too am more interested in seeing pics of their biological children, because I want to see if they look like them, if they’re as cute as you’d think, etc. They’ve had nothing to do with how their other children look. But I did notice they’d only put shiloh up..but she is so beautiful how could anyone complain?

Sinclair,

If those Europeans are so enlightened, where’s their Barack? They might buy magazines with blacks in them, but they won’t elect blacks to run their countries. Hum…maybe you ought to consider the big picture before you turn a discussion about celebrity twins into a forum about your race issues.

Beautiful! Although I agree with the posters who have said that people will always find fault with this family, as an adopted child I would like to say that I see no problem with the cover of this magazine. My older brother and I are both adopted and my younger two brothers are biological to my adoptive parents. I never once felt like I was loved less. When the youngest was born, sure people wanted to see his biological brother hold him, but it wasn’t because they were bio children, it was just the baby holding the baby. Since most families do not make a distinction between bio and adopted children, perhaps CBB readers should stop trying to find one. People magazine can do what it wants to sell its magazines. But that does not mean the editors think less of the adopted children, and if they do… who cares!? They are obviously happy and loved. Congratulations to the Jolie-Pitts.

I believe a mouse/scroll bar can help you with that.

As for cat-fights and “bickering,” the only disagreeable behavior appears, ironically, to stem from the rabid Brangelina fans. If I am not mistaken, most of the issue has been taken with People mag’s choice of photo selection, not the Jolie-Pitts themselves.

I don’t tell you how to comment; please don’t dictate how I should comment, either.

Ugh. just went to two places and they all still had the old issue.

Also, regarding the “family” names…..all the adopted childrens’ names have special meaning, and their names reflect their culture. It is actually a sore point for many adult international adoptees that their cultural names are replaced with American names upon adoption. So…again, all you people that are attempting to stick up for adoptees…

- carie on

as adorable as shiloh is (and she is beautiful) it is no coincidence that she was the one older child to appear on that cover. in response to a few posters, maddox did not appear in shiloh’s introduction shoot because he chose not to participate. he did however choose to appear in this photo shoot. in my opinion, it’s naive to think that out of the four older children the one child included in the cover was the one child who was both white and the biological child. they should not have included an insert of any of the children (like Hello). this obviously does not reflect how brad and angie see their kids. those six little kids are equally loved and cared for. i really admire the two of them for making such a beautiful family.

p.s. doreen, i find your comments extremely disappointing. “flesh and blood”??? wow!! all of those kids BELONG in that family. look at how much they love each other. biology is not the only thing that makes a family. brad and angie don’t see any difference in their kids, so why do you?

- Sarah on

I bought the magazine and the pictures are beautiful. All the children look very happy, and with the addition of the new babies. My favorite are the pics of the whole family.

Angelina Jolie looks happy, but VERY tired lol. Brad looks tired too but not as much. The girl looks more like Angelina with the dark hair/the face, and the boy looks more like Brad with the blonde/light hair. They did mention the rumor about fertility drugs and mentioned that it was false. I thought it was well done and a great interview, just enough information but not TOO much/over the top. I’m glad they are happy and healthy.

- Mia on

I just got my latest issue of People (dated August 11) and it’s NOT the twins. It’s “What Happened to Caylee?” I’m confused…I hope they aren’t making this a “special” issue that subscribers have to purchase separately.

Woah one sec there NoNo I’m afraid Obama hasn’t been elected yet. Talk about that if he actually makes it and that’s not a certainty as far as I can see.
I wouldn’t say we Europeans are enlightened, but it could be argued that Europeans appear to be a little bit ahead in terms of equality. After all where’s your Thatcher or Merkel? Granted France have not yet elected a woman to run the country; Royal was weak politically, but at least she was a candidate.
True I can’t think of a black European Head of State, but I know that at least in England we can say our House of Parliament is quite a good mix of different ethnic minorities. And people of colour have been elected to important political posts in many European countries. However why should succes or progress be solely measured by this yardstick?
Every country struggles with racism and prejudice, it’ll take time for it to become less of an issue, but that’s just the way things are. Sure it’d be nice if we could all live together harmoniously and isn’t that what Angelina’s always promoted (to get back on topic)? Her family is an example of how society should be people of different race, colour and creed appreciating and loving one another.
People perhaps didn’t show that on their front cover and admittedly there was some lack of foresight on their part to anticipate the current furore. However should they really be accused of promoting a superior image of whites (effectively racism) or placing greater value on biological children? The simple truth of the matter is that this is a non-issue and people are over-analysing. Your average person will look at the front cover and think awww cute babies then their secondary thought will probably be awww how cute is that, Shiloh being a big sister. I’m sure they don’t immediately become aghast and think the other children are somehow inferior because they aren’t on the front or this is a white supremacy conspiracy for us to continue to accept an aryan ideal. For goodness sake people Angelina’s got Native American ancestry.
The uproar over the adopted kids not being pictured on the front is bs. I mean Hello ran with the picture of just the twins and parents and People probably would have done the same. The little picture of Shiloh seems almost an after-thought, like oh wouldn’t it be great actually if we could put that awesome picture of Shiloh, because it will make people want to see more pictures of the other kids and how everyone’s interacting with and reacting to the new arrivals. With Shiloh she’s had arguably the most adjustment. I mean we already can assume Maddox and Zahara are pretty used to new additions to the family. For Pax he probably feels like he’s always been a big brother. I mean isn’t that what we’d like, for him to feel as if he’s always been part of the family. Does it mean if we say oh but he’s going to become a big brother properly now that he wasn’t a ‘real’ big brother beforehand? In any case that picture’s sooo cute and we have far fewer pictures of Shiloh, which is fine, (doesn’t mean she’s neglected and forced to stay home whilst everyone else does, cool fun stuff), but it’s nice to see her happy smiling face too and how she’s changing, who she resembles more now etc. It probably is a fact that having a picture of Shiloh will increase sales more than a sale of any of the elder kids, but such is the fascination with seeing what happens when you combine the DNA of two of the most beautiful, sexiest beings on the planet.
For the record I’m British by birth, but my ethnic roots are basically Chinese so I’ve not got any agenda against my fellow Asians Maddox and Pax. And also not against my fellow African Zahara since my parents and lots of our family are from the same continent.

As much as I’d LOVE the whole family on the cover (not just Shi), they are a business and they have to sell magazines. Unfortunately, its Shiloh who sells the most.

Great pictures inside! i saw the hello magazine ones :D It definitely doesn’t favor Shiloh in the inside, I promise!

- Natasha on

Hi Jade, thank you for your wonderful post. I believe that the underlying issue (the media devaluing/erasing people of color) is indeed very relevant because so many of us in the U.S. are deeply influenced by images we see in the media.
We all have to remember to take information in with a grain of salt – to resist the overwhelming pressure by the media to define our sense of self-worth. Women, mothers and children come in all different ‘packages’ and the U.S. media is far from truly representing this.
The discussions/controversy are simply old news to some, but the posters here are helping pave a path of changing our perception to a more truly representative one, which the Jolies totally embody, but People magazine did indeed choose to selectively portray their family. The people who have critiqued this cover have enlightened me today.
I’m not adopted but based on reading the hurt that some adoptees are expressing, I would venture to say that the media ‘pressure’ is being felt on that side too. and i again encourage everyone to resist the unreasonable standard of appearance which is so prevalent in the US media, instead, be yourself, love yourself for who you are!
sorry for the novel lol :)

I think there is a very fine line when it comes to the moderation of posts on sites like this because everyone is entitled to their opinion but I have to say that doreen’s comment raised a big red flag in my book. While the comment wasn’t directly disrespectful of anyone posting today it was blatantly disrespectful of everything that Angelina and Brad have said about the way they feel about their family and want them to be treated. In all of the heated debates going on here it seems to me that in the end most of the comments have the children’s best interests at heart and are generally happy for this family despite whether they agree with how the cover was printed. There is a big difference between discussing the reality that people exist who make such hurtful comments and actually allowing such comments to be posted and as a site that prides itself on and has always been faithful to respecting all different kinds of families, a comment that in any way negatively distinguishes between adopted and biological children doesn’t belong here.

- Abby on

With 342 comments on this thread so far (with many of them containing an unbelievable amount of griping, complaining, and negativity) I was tempted to not bother to comment; but, I’ve changed my mind and decided to add my 2¢. The pictures of the twins, Shiloh, Angelina and Brad are absolutely stunning. Thanks CBB for posting the pictures, links and exerpts from the Jolie-Pitt interview so I could enjoy them before making it to the store to buy the magazine. I’ve seen the 19-page spread in People magazine since last night and, people, there are beautiful pictures of EVERY SINGLE MEMBER of the Jolie-Pitt clan, smiling and happy, included in the magazine! I am so disappointed and sickened by so many of the comments that I can’t even begin to express my level of disgust. Why can’t people enjoy things for what they are? You got to see some beautiful pictures, free of charge, and all many of you can do is gripe about what you DIDN’T see or get. Again, thanks CBB for allowing me to see the pictures before I had a chance to buy the magazine. The Jolie-Pitts ALL look happy, healthy and thrilled to live in a house where every member is LOVED!

- SouthernBelle on

I saw the whole spread today… the pics are AMAZING. And there are plenty of pics of all of the kids, who are alll so gorgeous in their own way. The older kids seem like the biggest helpers, and it is just so sweet to see all of them together. I loved all of the pics.

Congrats again to Angelina & Brad (and the whole clan!) on the birth of two beautiful babies!

- Nicole on

Beautiful pictures of beautiful babies, beautiful children, beautiful but exhausted parents showing love all around. The end.

- Tammy on

Hello wasn’t available in my area yet but I was able to grab a copy of People. The photos are absolutely gorgeous. This family looks so happy and full of love for each other. The pics of Z, Madd and Pax with their new siblings are priceless. The parents’ delight in the older children is so evident. So what if Shiloh got featured in a corner of the cover. People is in business to sell their magazines and Shiloh is, to most Americans, what sells. They made a business decision. If anyone has a problem with it, write to the editor of People magazine and complain.

Why can’t we just stick to talking about the gorgeous pictures themselves instead of getting on racial soapboxes?!

Sorry such issues are crap to you, but it’s reality for some other people. Perhaps you could try a little empathy sometime. Some of us can’t just stick to the “gorgeous pictures” because of other thought-compelling issues in the world–oh, things like inequality, genocide, poverty, etc. But just ignore the Negative Nellies. We’ll be the ones fretting over trivial issues while you focus on more relevant things like the latest $20M-celebrity-newborn cover story.

sigh, life’s about choices. You may choose to get worked up about someone else’s viewpoint, or read it and move on. It’s that simple. Discussing deep issues may offend you, but partaking is not obligatory. Again, the comment section is an open forum, moderated by CBB. If anyone dictates the directions/tones/content of the commentary, it is CBB and CBB alone. THAT is why we don’t have to stick to just talking about gorgeous babies and oohing and aahing about the cover.

Sinclair, you have done nothing but attack people who and Brad and Angie fans, so why would you have an issue with Sigh’s comments? This cover has nothing to do with poverty, race, etc. It’s just a cover of a magazine. You are attacking people for not focusing on huge issues when they are coming on to this site for celebrity baby news which you are also doing btw

- Renee on

Sinclair,
I’m not in denial at all about why Shiloh is on the cover. That’s the way things are. Should they change? Absolutely. Will they today, or tomorrow, or next week? Nope. Of course it’s wrong and disgusting. But griping about it on Celebrity Baby Blog isn’t going to help. People just need to chill out and look at the adorable pictures. That’s what this website is for. There are other websites for the other discussions.

- Carol on

Ok. I’m moving on from the twins….how adorable are all of the pics of the other kids? I love Zahara smiling holding the twins, and the family pic, where Maddox is laying down with Shiloh is too cute. And the hair….how freakin’ adorable are Pax and Maddox’s hairstyles?! I love when parents let kids be creative in dress and color when they’re young. It’s so cool. Oh, and love the nail polish on Z and Shiloh. I noticed Shiloh only has it on one hand with lots of silly designs…I wonder if the girls did that to each others’ nails? Oh, and where the one baby is kicking out just like Pax? too cute.

- carie on

But, if all 6 of the children had been biological, and they had shown the baby of the family holding the babies in that little picture in the corner…would you guys be making such an issue? I seriously doubt it. If anything, you’re the ones that can’t stop dividing the children, and stop seeing the children as biological vs. adopted.

Actually, Renee, I’m not attacking any Angie/Brad fans. Please read and think before you speak/write. I have no issue with Sigh’s comments–her comments should be as welcome as mine. I don’t have to agree with everyone else, unlike some on this site.

Yes, I came here for celebrity baby news. Have I denied that? Nope. Does that mean that this site is all about talking about celeb babies and their families, only? Haven’t people commented on other world issues that Angie and Brad are involved in? Please excuse me if I want to discuss more than fluff every now and then. You are free to excuse yourself.

What a beautiful picture of a very happy family, I am sure the rest of the pictures will be just as nice and Shiloh with her sister is so cute, reason she is on the cover too is because she is Brad;s biological child with Angie and is a true sister to those twins. So this is likely the reason they put her on the cover with her mother and father and new brother and sister. I am sure there is more pics in the issue of the rest of the children with the babies. No matter what it makes for a good read and it is one issue I can’t wait to receive via mail. Be interesting to see who they resemble once they get a bit older, if they take after Shiloh, they will be cute kids. Best Wishes to the whole family 2+6 makes for a nice family and if more come later all the more power to them.

Exactly. Sinclair and whoever else can think of themselves as morally superior all they want, but at the end of the day, they are griping about the world’s troubles on a site about **celebrity babies**. Posting in the comments section of a Brangelina post does absolutely nothing to cure the ills of society, in fact, I think if those people are really so concerned about the issues, they would be up and out and actually DOING something.

Just lamenting – nee beating others down – about it *here* won’t change a darned thing. All it does is clog up the comments, which I would LIKE to be able to read without the political rants and bickering over adoption issues and straw man fallacies.

These are seriously happy, settled, secure, joyful, relaxed, and above all, loved kids who know without a doubt their parents adore each of them idividually, and encourage and nurture each childs personality to it’s fullest. Some of you are frustrated by your own feelings of inadequcy “some warranted, some not,” and you’re using this family to realize some of those frustrations. The Jolie-Pitts are not the problem! So what Shiloh is on the cover?! I can bet my last dollar that any of them on the cover, or none of them, or some of them, or all boys, or all girls, or an Asian one, or the Black one “without a doubt would STILL be controversial in some of your hearts and minds, and you STILL would have found something to tear down, beat up, bruise, criticize, and malign.” Get thee to a couch now and stop deflecting your issues onto people who have nothing to do with you, your upbringing, your low self esteem, or parental issues! This is NOT your family or your life!

I’m glad that you, Ange, find this entertaining but it’s not. If I “scold” someone it’s because I’m really bothered by their comments. I have a right to disagree with someone just like you do. If I’m known as the person who “scolds” people for attacking, fine. Since when is it a bad thing to stand up for someone if you think they are being treated badly.

Picked up People magazine today. Gorgeous beautiful pics. They are truly blessed with such a beautiful healthy family. The twins resemble Shiloh when she was a baby but more so Knox, imo. What gorgeous eyes Shiloh has and love the quotes of her calling them her babies and how her and Z are like little mommies…awww too cute. And i’m digging the boys new hair cuts and color, super kewl. I’m looking forward to receiving the issue so I can take a look at the pictures and own a little piece of history :) .

As for the whole controversy over the cover, this really isn’t the best or right place to ignite a heated debates over race and the bio vs. adopted issue. It’s not that these discussions shouldn’t be had, but that there are other, more appropriate forums for it. Just my opinion.

Likewise with books, this issue of People shouldn’t be judged solely by its cover; the cover’s purpose is to sell as many copies as possible…period, regardless of how they went about the selection process for the pictures. I know that people will interpret this choice in accordance with their beliefs and experiences, but isn’t it a little excessive to assume that People deliberately excluded the adopted/non-Caucasian for any reason other than for revenue/profit? Sure, it’s a sad reality that a cover with only the Caucasian members of the family would probably sell more copies, but that’s business. The change of attitudes and perceptions has to come from the ground up through education and greater exposure to more cultures, religions, and races.

There are 19 pages of huge pictures featuring every member of the clan, which, according to the comments here, show all the kids as happy, healthy, and loving. They should be celebrated as a family unit–as a whole, with race and bio/adopted status made irrelevant.

- M on

I loved the fact that she was in a nightgown. She looked like what real women might wear when still in the throws of healing after a C section and with a brood of little ones. Although, she looked incredible considering she had no make up or over done styling of the hair. You see many celebrities done up to the nines in their designer clothes. Don’t get me wrong, I am sure that Dior made her a one of a kind nightgown that she is probably wearing, but I still find it quite unassuming. I think that is the whole idea they were look to show everyone. To me the message that people and the Jolie-Pitt family wanted to convey to the world can be summed up in one word Natural… The kids look very excited and it looks like they are enjoying and experiencing life as a family. Albeit a family with a 70 million dollar home not far from French Riveria.

- Angela on

I can’t believe the hoo-haa over People putting Shiloh on the cover!! At the end of the day the general public is more fascinated in Brad and Angie’s combined gene pool – after all, they are two of the most physically beautiful people in the world. People paid such a huge sum for the pics and had to ensure as many sales as possible to recoup their money, hence Shiloh being on the cover too. The world will always be more fascinated with Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne, and a cover of those three would always outsell a cover with Maddox, Pax and Zahara. But you can tell those six kids are loved and cherished absolutely equally by their mum and dad and seriously, that’s all that matters.

- sadie on

JEEEZ wish everybody would stop griping on about the biological and adopted issue I think it’s really sad such a wonderful event for this beautiful family has to be dragged down by such comments !

I dashed out to buy the issue this morning as it had sold out local to me yesterday much to my horror lol and I have sat gazing over the pictures and wow they are just awesome , every child they have is there in beautiful pictures as new big sister or brother , the one of maddox holding the yawning twin is just precious , well they all are but that one actually made me go a bit teary !

My seven year old daughter was looking at the pictures with me and she said “wow they have lots of kids !” she flicked through and commented on the boys and girls and what a fun family they look , she didn’t notice their skin colour and didn’t comment on it and I think that is the attitude we should all have , they are just a beautiful family !

I love how Angelina is so natural and is just in a nightdress ( I lived in similar nighties when breastfeeding my own children especially through the summer )and brad is just in his vest and they both look shattered but elated ,which is in stark contrast to jennifer lopez’s pics of her twins which were lovely but very staged and a bit OTT but each to their own and everyting but these are real family shots and I just love them ! :O)

For anyone wondering: This People mag is dated August 18, and is a special double issue. It is supposed to be displayed until August 25!

I have always had a soft spot for Mad, because I kinda feel like I’ve been able to see him grow up. I loved the pics of him holding his baby sisters – Shiloh and Viv. He looks like he’s a wonderful big brother. It cracks me up that Shiloh just lets him flop around with her like that.

I love that everyone looks so natural – no fancy clothes, and the kids have scratches and bruises on their legs like kids who play outside and get into things usually do. It wouldn’t surprise me if every single one of the kids has slept in that bed, cuddled up with everyone else. It must be wonderful to be around so much love all the time.

@ Doreen, that is possibly the most offensive thing I have ever read and I hope to God you are never, ever in the presence of anyone adopted. This family honestly seems more loving than a great deal of “flesh and blood” families out there.

@ Amanda – you’re totally right, this is Pax’s first time welcoming home new siblings as well. It’s easy to overlook the fact that Shiloh was like 11 months old when he was adopted – quite a big baby! So these two new babies must seem very tiny to him.

For the record: you see paparazzi pictures of all the kids, and those are NOT the same as covers. I think People should have gone for just Brad and Angelina on the cover, not only because of the “preference” having that picture in the corner seems to give to Shiloh, but because I really like the Hello cover, with just them. Since there were no sidebars on this cover, they really could have gone with a full page picture.

The great thing about Brad and Angelina is, none of this controversy touches them. It surrounds them, yes, but none of it invades their home, or their relationships with their children. This family looks happy, healthy, and ready to take on the world, and I wish good things on them, because they deserve it.

Actually, that’s wrong. That was a made up interview that the British tabs invented. Angie just gave an interview to Vanity Fair recently where she talked about how the name Shiloh came about. She said that it was a name her parents were going to use on their child that died because of a miscarriage. The name was Shiloh Baptist and Angie even said her and her mom used to use that name as aliases when staying at hotels. I think it’s the June issue of Vanity Fair.

why would shiloh sell more? that goes back to sinclairs point. You Americans like the typical blue eyed blond hair type. Why would the dark hair, dark skin Asian boy not sell? Is he any less their’s. A lot of you have PROVED SINCLAIR’S point with you reasoning for Shiloh being on the cover.

- Debra Wilcox on

What great life lessons they are teaching their kids. The kids sound like they wanna help their parents with the younger siblings. I like that Brad/Angie allow them to do so. I also like what Brad said, “We raise each other” I think that statement sums up their family – strong and tight to the end for better or worse.

- Pearl on

CBB, maybe you should do a separate post to discuss the whole “why is Shiloh on the front cover”? Obviously there is a group of folks who want to continue the discussion but for folks who want to read the comments about the pictures and discuss the pictures (ie the links to scans others have provided and the part of the interview you have posted) it’s not worth it as this post has grown to large with other issues thrown in. If want to participate in the race/adoption issue I’d prefer to click to another post and discuss it. Just my 2 cents.

What is the matter w/you people? You obviously fail to see the larger picture…they are adulters with 6 out of wedlock children.

They are setting a horrible example for everyone out there. Yes, we’re adulters, and we have 6 out of wedlock kids, but, that’s okay, because we’re famous and nobody thinks bad of famous people.

They make me sick. Go Jenn Aniston, go.

I am a People subscriber and was confused when my latest (August 11) issue arrived and it wasn’t the issue with the twins. I called People, and they explained that the twins issue is a special issue that is being released in addition to their regular weekly issue. It should be delivered to subscribers by August 9. I just thought I would share, as this was confusing to me, and as it turns out, a little different from the norm.

Glad I copied the photos on jjb to my hard drive last night because alas, jjb took them down again. They said posting the photos was copyright infringment. Thank God I was able to get a copy of People. Hello isn’t out in NYC until later in the week. But I understand the photos in both issues are the same.

The pictures are absolutely marvelous. No overdressed mom and dad in an overdecorated nursery with crystal chandeliers — just two very tired but very happy parents with six vibrant children, sharing so much joy and love together.

- Judy on

Debra, I’m British, and offended by your accusation that the Americans only want perfect looking kids.

The hard fact is, Maddox, Pax and Zahara are not he natural born children of Brad and Angeline, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne are. The media sees this by favouring the youngest three because they have the gene pool of the so called ‘glamour’ couple of Hollywood.

It isn’t about personal preference, I am sure most people would like to see all the kids, but looking in the magazine, the best photograph is of Shiloh and one of the twins. It’s gorgeous regardless of her race.

- SJ on

Angelina Jolie has said in the past that she wants each of her children to see another child in the family that looks just like them. I hope she adopts a black son so that Zahara can see someone that looks like her. Very lovely family still.

Dana it may signify something more. Maybe a commitment ring of sorts, who knows. I’m one who believes them to be no less married than some on the goverment rolls. Apart from a legal doc, what’s missing? I’ve a strong inkling they take their commitment to one another and their kids as seriously as a couple who’ve made it “proper,” and I know they take more it more seriously than sadly a great number of couples I know personally!

I see Viv looking very much like Angie, but I also see Brad in the boy very much accept for the redish hair. It’s going to be interesing watching them develop.

Sorry you have a problem, yet again, but I DO find it amusing. You come here over and over telling people to be nice and look at photos, etc, yet you constantly pick at people for the tiniest thing you find a difference in.

I like to come here to see photos and read articles, not see cranky people and those who feel they need to bully every chance they get when comments aren’t what they’d like them to be.

Don’t bother replying, I’m not getting into any more Renee drama with you.

sorry to add to the debate posts but this isn’t an opinion, just a cute story that i thought was very relevant. My 7 year old neighbor comes over often to be a “mommies helper” to my two year old and she saw me looking at the scans online today. she asked me what i was looking at and i told her who they were and that they had just had twins. she looked at the pictures for a moment and asked “why do some of their kids look different than them?”. i explained what adoption was and that they had chosen two ways of creating their family. She looked for a moment and said “wow they sure are lucky” which i thought was in reference to the adoptions but she then followed it up with “i wasn’t allowed to hold my baby brother when he was born because my mom said i was too young. but i can hold my baby cousins now because i’m older and won’t drop them”. with that she went back to playing with my daughter leaving me chuckling at myself for my assumption about her comment. :)

I got it! Finally got my copy of Hello today. Hehe and glad I resisted the temptation to peek beforehand. The pictures are absolutely adorable! Are we sure that People and Hello are publishing the same ones though? Because I’ve noticed People’s front cover picture isn’t in Hello. So may try to track down a copy of People, which isn’t easy, but hey I don’t wanna miss out :P The two pictures of Mad and Pax holding a twin were awesome. Would have been nice to see more of today’s birthday boy Maddox, especially since he’s rocking that blue mohawk!
Lol perhaps People didn’t want to go with the main pic of the parents looking down and an inset pic of one of the older brothers looking down, so they went with a smiley photo of Shiloh. Ah the drama, thought it would’ve died down somewhat by now. There are roughly the same number of pictures of the older kids inside the magazine. If only People hadn’t put the little teaser pic there a whole lot of people would have nothing to complain about…though I’m sure somehow some people would have come up with something. Oh and I don’t think the pic of the whole family would have worked as the main front cover or inset. It warrants a huge double page spread as it was given in the copy of Hello.

People who dislike Shiloh being on the cover are not automatically attacking. I love the JP clan, i’ve been a fan of Angelina and Brad forever, long before they were Jolie-Pitt. I have watched and enjoyed their saga and I love that they seem so in love with each other and their kids.

That said, I have an issue with PEOPLE MAGAZINE deciding to put Shiloh on the cover. I think that some people are confusing attacking the cover picture with attacking the family. I do not for one second believe that A&B see any difference b/w biological and adopted, but the world most certainly does. Yes, People is a business and they know exactly what they are doing. It is disappointing that they felt the need to put the photo of Shiloh up there in order to appeal to more people. The sad thing is that they felt it was an added boost, that action is what defines many underlying problems in this country. If the world just wanted to see beautiful babies courtesy of the JP’s than there would have been no need to add the inset picture, the message would clearly be “Here are pictures of the twins”. The fact is that adding in Shiloh adds the subliminal message that you’re seeing first pictures of all of their biological kids. It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out. /soapbox off

My favorite picture is the one showing Pax’s arm, you can see a little toy attacked with a band. As anyone who has a young male child in their house knows, it’s from McDonald’s. How cool is it that when your parents can afford any toy, one of your favorites its from a $3 happy meal.

- Haylo on

I got my copy of People today! Yay! They are such a beautiful, beautiful family.

Terri,

- Their chateau doesn’t have air conditioning… probably not a big deal to most people, but I’m in Dallas and holy cow, I can’t imagine living without AC. I’m so jealous of them lol!

- AJ says they aren’t getting much sleep, but that there is a point in the day where 4 out of 6 kids are sleeping so that’s the best time for her and Brad to nap.

- When asked what how they helped the other kids prepare for the twins, AJ says that there’s an episode of Dora where Dora’s mom has a bg twins and they watched that a lot. It got them excited.

- The older kids got cupcakes to celebrate the twins’ birthday.

- AJ says her first few days after her C “were a little difficult, but we had a great team of doctors and they helped me feel better quickly.”

- It is *not* true that AJ watched Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman while on bedrest (wha? I never heard that LOL). She says she’s never even see that show, and that she watched The War by Ken Burns because she figured it would be the only chance she’d get to watch a 15 hour documentary.

- Brad finds the c-section process “absolutely heroic”

- Her only craving was and still is cheese and milk.

- Mad is the best French speaker in the family. His schooling is 70% in French. (They were asked by the journalist about the family speaking French; it was not unprompted bragging.)

- The next trip for the Jolie-Pitt foundation will be to “Asia to follow up on the situation in Burma and our work in Cambodia. The boys have been asking to go, so we will take them when Knox and Viv are a little older.”

- They will also be “building a TB/AIDS clinic in Ethiopia–one we plan for Zahara to take over when she is older”

Other stuff…

I love the clothes they are wearing!! I wish I knew where they came from.

It’s so nice to see Angie all natural. She is most gorgeous with no make up and without her hair done.

It’s also really nice to see the kids have bruises/scrapes/dirt on their feet and legs. Little kids should look like they spend a lot of time outdoors, and these do! Kudos to their parents. :)

- sigh on

And will you cats just shut up. I”m trying to enjoy my CBB without this blog fighting because this is getting ridiculous. I mean, come on, you guys are fighting over a pic of Shiloh with Vivienne. . . that’s insane! You women should be very ashamed of yourselves for fighting over such a petty issue like that. Shiloh’s just a happy BIG sister and there are plenty of gorgeous pictures with the other siblings. I doubt People did it intentionally or maybe because they did it because Shiloh’s been considered the “baby” of Angie and Brad’s bunch for so long so it shows her taking her role.
*I know I”m going to get flames, but this is another thing that bugs me. I find it terrible that celebrities have to get on here to justify their name choices *i.e. Solei Moon Frye with Jagger *I know I didn’t spell her name right* But what right do we have to do that? They’re not our children. I think people forget that celebrities are not deities, they’re human beings with careers like ourselves and any parent would be upset if that many neg. comments were made about their children’s names. So please with all due respect, either CBB or fellow posters, do not post those types of comments on here. Remember that these celeb moms probably read these type of blogs too and that they also have feelings as well. I’m not trying to be rude, but I used to take such a joy in reading this blog, but now it’s all about critique and internet bickering which is just plain SAD. Anyone else feel this way, or am I just being an immature nineteen year old?

You are wrong. Shiloh welcomed Pax to their family, although he is older than her. Pax on the other hand had never welcomed any sibling until Know and Viv were born. This is his first time welcoming new ppl to their family. I guess this is just as big, (or bigger) as it is for Shiloh.

- Jennie on

The picture of Shiloh holding her little baby sister is the best. Shiloh has innocence and joy written over that beautiful expressive face of hers. She deserves to be in the cover. How can’t anyone fall in love with the joy that radiates within?

She will be a stunning beauty when she grows up. One can already see the outline of her finely sculpted angelic face … cheekbones and all. But I am pretty sure, with love and guidance from her parents, just like her mom she will become a great lady (on her own) someday.

- Golden Cherubim on

Though an important, sensitive and horrific topic in history, the Nazi/Adolph Hitler reference does not belong here.

cathylee, when they say they plan for Z to take over the clinic it doesn’t mean that it will be her path. It just means she will over see it. She can be all she wants to be and also be responsible for that. I think it’s a great idea, what a wonderful way to show her responsibility and how something so simple can save lives of her fellow countrymen. I’m sure Z will love taking responsibility especially regarding her history. Kudos to Brad and Angelina

Long winded post but I LOVE these kids’ personalities!!!

I absolutely love Zahara and Pax right now. I love all the Jolie-Pitt children but those two have a spunk that I just adore in children. Zahara always has this mischievous smile like she’s ready to play and has the smarts of a twenty year old. With all that Pax has been through in the last year and a half coming to a brand new culture with a new language and the constant media attention, his fiery personality in these pictures seems to show how strong he must be and how wonderful Brad and Angelina are as parents.

Maddox seems like he has an ambitious and spunky personality too but as an older brother of five (and I’m sure many more in the future!) he seems to have a sense of calm and a protective nature about him too. He has always seemed so wise beyond his years. The picture of Shiloh laying on him with his arms around him is just hysterical and gorgeous! They mentioned Maddox being particularly close to and protective of Shiloh which I had never heard before and that picture just jumped out after that. Shiloh seems perfectly content flopped on her brother! Most kids wouldn’t sit still like that!

And Shiloh has always had this beautiful little innocence about her and very much seems like the (not sure of the right word here. I’m the baby of my family and I think as the youngest children have a very noticeable sense of their place as the protected and innocent one in the family even if they’re not so innocent! Definitely not a bad thing! The babies always get away with more. It’s our payback for being the smallest and at the bottom of the ranks! :) ) But over the last few months the pictures of her seem to show a bit of a change. With her not being the baby anymore and having Zahara and Pax to contend with I bet that little girl is going to start showing some big-time spunk!

I obviously have no idea what these children are really like but I love looking at the pictures of them over the years and seeing what I perceive as their personalities and how they change. They all seem like they have a solid sense of reality despite their parents wealth and celebrity. I can’t wait to see what these two new little ones will be like!

Regardless of the politics of the cover, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have a truly stunning family. Each of their kids has a personality that shines through, and the connection that they feel to each other and to their parents is clearly evident and wonderful to see.

Why would anyone think Brad and Angelina went with IVF? They clearly don’t have any problems having their own natural kids, or they would have done so two years ago with Shiloh. Celebs do tend to have multiples, all on their own.

Shiloh certainly is blonde, which leads me to guess Brad was the exact same way as a kid. It’ll be interesting to see who the twins turn out to be like.

If they do have anymore “natural” kids, maybe next time it’ll be a boy. If they adopt, the next one should be a girl, to make it even, lol!

Congrats to Brad and Angelina.

—————

I feel the same way. LOL My People magazine is getting a bit wrinkled, I may have to buy a second one.

And to the poster who felt “sorry” for the kids..It really depends on the parents. You can be in a family of just one or two children, and have those kids neglected.
Or you can be in a family of many children, and have parents who make the time to make each child feel loved and special each and every day. Clearly the Jolie-Pitt’s are a family where the love is not spread out thinly, but grows larger with every new member.

I am the fourth of seven children. I loved having a lot of brothers and sisters. My parents always made the time for each of us, and in fact, some of my friends used to envy my relationship with my parents(these were kids with only one or two siblings)

Again, it depends on the parents, but from what I have seen, Shiloh does not seem to need anyone feeling sorry for her.

These children, indeed the whole family, seems to be very blessed.

- buddy on

I have the magazine!!! I just bought Hello! magazine, that in Mexico is called Hola! , and I loved the pictures, specially the one with all the family, they seem so normal, cute, cute, cute!!!!

- angie on

I also am still loving the lovely pictures. Natural, real and sweet. I still have a soft spot for Zahara and Brad though. Their picture with the twins was so precious.

As for feeling sorry, Maddox went out alone with his father on a go carting trip yesterday, so I think we can rest assured that each child is well loved and gets attention. I doubt if Shiloh has any reason to worry or any of the others. Brad and Angelina have always made special time as one parent, both parents and with different numbers of children from one alone to all of them. Of course that is only from the limited photographs we see of them. They may do even more, we just don’t know about it. That may be harder now with six, but I am sure they will find a way.

- Jamie on

Yes, the twins are cute. No cuter then anyone’s baby. Unfortunately one day all of those children will grow up and begin to understand that the start of this so called family was at the expense of others. Angelina did exactly what was done to her very own mother and she will have to live with that. If they are so into charities why not live in one place and donate more of there money to charity. Instead of buying Zahara they could have helped her family to give her a better life. Why haven’t they visited any one of the adopted childrens family. TAKE TAKE TAKE. Good way to raise CHILDREN.

Oh good lord, how many parents who own businesses plan for their sons or daughters to take over the business when they retire? Of course they don’t try to force the kids to take over if they don’t want to, any more than the J-Ps will force Z to run the clinic. One of my oldest friends just sold a thriving business he’d been running for thirty years because his son had no interest at all in carrying it on. He was disappointed, but it wasn’t the end of the world.

I think they are setting it up to give Z an interest into some of the problems of her native country and hope she will want to give back. If she doesn’t want to take over the clinic, they’ll find someone else to do it. If she does, it’s there for her. I think it’s a great idea.

I have seen the photospread and I think Maddox looks a bit angry in that picture holding the twin and in the familyphoto he lay down with Shiloh on top of him so we only see his legs. Maybe he`s angry at his parents for letting a photographer into their home, when usually they all hate the paparazzis. It must feel weird..

I never even thought that only biological Jolie-Pitt children were on the cover until I came to this site. I think People used the Shiloh shot because Shiloh was the youngest and she’s holding her youngest sister in that shot. I personally would have used the shot of Maddox holding Viv (zoomed in from the big picture of him, Brad, Pax and the twins.) As the oldest Jolie-Pitt holding the youngest, that or I would have used the one of Brad, Z, Viv and Knox. But that’s just me.
