Tina Fey Jokes That Daughter is "The Only Good Part" of Motherhood
Being a mom is tough, but for Tina Fey the reward at the end of the day — her 2 ½-year-old daughter Alice Zenobia — makes it all worthwhile, the 38-year-old actress says. In a recent interview Tina joked "the diapers are not great, the hours are dreadful…the baby is the only good part." She doesn’t take her ability to be a mom for granted, however. Says Tina,
I personally got very lucky. I got a baby under the wire – that’s how I like to say it. I was 35 and I know I’m very, very lucky.
Because she didn’t struggle with fertility issues Tina says she found it "hard to imagine" the emotions being experienced by her character in Baby Mama, who uses a surrogate to have a baby. Still, she had some memories to draw on in preparing for the role. "I was able to remember the feelings of mid-30s baby lust that kind of overtakes you and surprises you, and then the fear that it’s not going to work out," she says.
Alice is Tina’s daughter with husband Jeff Richmond.
