Angelina Jolie, Twins Discharged From Hospital

Angelinajolie_2 A statement posted today on the official website of the Fondation Lenval hospital in Nice, France — where Angelina Jolie delivered fraternal twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline one week ago — says that both mom and babies were discharged early this morning. Spokesperson Nadine Bauer thanks both the medical team for their "attention and care," as well as those journalists around the world "who did their best" to respect the privacy of the 33-year-old actress and her partner, Brad Pitt, while at Lenval. The statement adds,

The mother and her babies are doing very well.

Knox and Vivienne are the fifth and sixth children for the couple; they join older siblings Maddox Chivan, 6 ½, Pax Thien, 4 ½, Zahara Marley, 3 ½, and Shiloh Nouvel, 2.

When I read this i was surprised because most of the journalists around the hospital didn’t try to respect their privacy but the original quote says that he hospital thanks ‘ those of the journalists around the hospital who did their best to respect their privacy .’ not all the journalists.

It must be nice for the family to be together at home.

I am glad they are safely away and with so little fuss. I also think that Brad Pitt should either become a consultant on top secret maneuvers or he consulted someone. They managed to get into the hospital, out of the hospital and he had a meeting with a world renowned director, without any photograhic evidence and a mob of photographers outside. Agree, some of the photographers were nice, but many of them were horrible. The best of luck to the family.

Now the fun begins!

I bet she is soooooooooo glad to be home! Can’t wait to see the babies with all of their brothers and sisters!

- Robin on

I am so glad that they can all be together and enjoy this special time without the peering eye of paps…God bless the Jolie-Pitts!!!

Congrats to all the family!

They managed to give the paparazzi the slip. The papzs thought they were leaving by helicopter so they swarmed all over the roof, while Angie, Brad and the twins slipped out through a side exit at 4 in the morning. Good for them.

I hope they can enjoy the next few weeks in peace and privacy. Angelina needs all the rest she can get. Six kids under the age of seven… oy-vay!

Hopefully, this will post…I posted earlier but it doesn’t show…God bless the Jolie-Pitts and may they enjoy this special time…

E! said today that both Brad’s parents are in France as is James Haven, Angie’s brother.

I bet the house is just full of happiness and joy and babies everywhere. I’d love to know if Angie’s longtime friend and assistant Holly Goline has also had her baby. What a blast for them to have this to share. Nothing like having a friend whose children and yours are going to grow up together.

He was probably talking to those journalists who did not stalk the hospital haha.

- Tracey on

I am glad they left safely and unnoticed.
I read a rumor that paparazzi had chartered helicopters and if Angelina had left by helicopter they would try to get a photo midair, which sounded extremely dangerous.

Their Sunday movie times are going to be soooo busy! Brad and Angelina are definatly going to need a bigger bed for Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne to all fit in now!

James Haven is in France [he was spotted a few days before the twins were born bringing Maddox to the hospital and a couple of days after bring flowers] and more than likely Brad’s parents have flown in to help look after Mad, Pax, Zee, Shi and the twins.

Congrats to Brad and Ange on bringing the new little ones, Knox and Vivienne, home to join the rest of the family! Everyone must be so happy =)

LOL, Jess, I bet they’ll need a specially made bed to fit all eight of them comfortably! ;)

I’m glad they were able to leave the hospital without fanfare. Just glad to hear things are still going well. ♥♥

I’m so glad that Angie and the twins were able to slip out of the hospital without the paps knowing about it! I was concerned that they would have to deal with a bunch of paps trying to take photos of the twins as they left. I am not at all surprised that they didn’t leave via helicopter, as I can’t imagine riding in a helicopter is very safe for newborns. In fact, I’m surprised the paps honestly thought they would take two newborns on a helicopter!

Anyway, I read the PEOPLE article and noticed that they said the twins were going home to join their “excited” siblings. I’m glad to hear that, as I was afraid that Shiloh might be jealouse of them!

US Weekly said in their article about the birth that Brad’s parents were set to arrive in France on the July 15th.

- Dawn on

Dawn, I would take EVERYTHING that US Weekly or E! say with a large crate of salt.

Glad they are home safely.

- taegan on

taegen- I agree with you about E!, but US Weekly is actually a lot more reliable than other tabloids (like Star, Life & Style, and InTouch). In fact, except for PEOPLE, they are the celebrity-based magazine I trust the most. They HAVE gotten things wrong (such as reporting that Suri and Shiloh were going to be boys, reporting that Angie’s due date with Shiloh was May 2, and saying that Zahara was a boy. They did catch that last one very quickly, however!) but it seems that about 95 percent of the time, when they announce something, it turns out to be true.

I wish them well and congratute them on the fact that they will give the money they make for the first pictures to charity. Very generous and caring people

What a wonderfully happy occasion! ♥
I can’t wait to see the bebes! I’m now beginning to understand why she has shortened all of their names…it will be easier with “roll call.” LOL!
“Mad, Pax, Zee, Shi, Knox, Viv…yeah the gang’s all here!” LOL!☺
