OnTray: grocery cart gizmo for spill-free snacking

Ontray The only thing that gets me through a trip to the grocery store is snacks — lots and lots of snacks, to distract my daughter while Mommy decides which cereal has the most fiber and which yogurt is the better deal. But I’ve dropped her little bowl of Cheerios or peach puffs too many times to count, and she always does the same if I leave it for her to hold (cleanup on aisle 7!). Now there’s a product that lets her safely snack on her own and leaves my hands free to fill the cart. It’s called the OnTray ($6.99) and it was designed by a mom who was as tired of spills as I was. It’s a simple square plastic container that attaches onto any grocery cart handle, and it works like a charm.

I took my 9-month old to Costco the other day, snapped on the OnTray and got all my shopping done without any whining or spillage! Bailey liked it, too, since she could feed herself and not have to depend on me. It also came in handy for free samples, which I could just drop into the OnTray for her! It includes a lid, so you can fill it up before leaving the house and just slide it off when you’re ready.

OnTray comes in four colors, is dishwasher safe, and can be bought directly at OnTray2Go.com.

There isn’t any way for the kid to flip it over and dump everything out?

It looks like it snaps on the cart so it won’t spill.

I don’t know if I would want my child to eat anything connected to a germ filled cart. With all of people touching them daily and NO ONE cleaning them, they are pretty gross. I guess if you cleaned the the cart first it would be OK. It’s a good idea, just don’t think I would ever use it.

Thanks for the great review. I’m so glad you liked OnTray! I created OnTray to make shopping with young children more enjoyable. As a mom, I realized I needed an extra set of hands while shopping with all 3 of my boys. Now with the very handy wipes by the shopping carts and most grocery stores, I simply wipe the handle bar and viola…I’m ready to shop! Simple, effortless and useful. 3 great words to a moms ears. Thanks again!!

Great idea! My daughter loves to eat and we cannot get through a grocery trip without her eating a whole can of apple wheels or something similar – being surrounded by all that food that she can’t eat is just too much for her! – so I will definitely be looking into buying one. It is a huge pain to have to hand her a snack every minute or have her spill a huge bag of cheerios. I’m excited about this!
