Maddie is absolutely gorgeous! I can see some of the Spears in her. I think in a slight way I can see some of Sean P and Jayden J in her. She’s soo little. Congratulations to Jamie Lynn and Casey once again.

Ans on

What gorgeous photos! Especially the first photo. Wow.

LisaB on

Oh what money wil buy. I envy that kitchen!! I thnk it’s wonderful that everything is well for them all. I found the photo of her in her nightie holding Maddie on the bed a bit grown up for a 17 year old, but she is growing up fast so whatever.

tink1217 on

great pics!!! Jamie Lynn’s hair looks so much better in these…I think that cover pic was just the wrong shade of photoshop!! LOL. I love the nursery and the kitchen is gorgeous! They look really happy!

steph on

i love those pics how sweet. How sad to hear of Casey’s cousin dying. Is Maddie’s middle name pronounce Brian or like Bree Ann?

steph

dsmom on

Steph…Its Bree Ann.

Sylvana on

Maddie is absolutely gorgeous! I love the nursery.

Vanessa on

Oh LisaB – don’t you know all new mothers hang out in expensive nighties with their hair perfectly coifed. JK. I think the baby is adorable.

Sarita on

How do you know it’s Bree Ann?

I don’t that’s possible as it’s written Briann, so it’s pronounced Briann or maybe Bri-anne.

Tiffany on

That’s right. Show parents how safe it is to put a baby bouncer right at the edge of a kitchen counter. The pics are cute but seriously, glorifying a teen preg is one thing but showing a serious safety non-no is another.

Courtney on

Very cute baby and JLS seems very happy. I wish her all the best!

I actually don’t think there is anything wrong with the bouncy being right there. Its not like she left her unattended while a fire raged on the stove. They are standing right there and she is 7 pounds, with the stoppers on the bottom, it isn’t going anywhere.

I do, however, think that the pose on the bed in her nightgown at 17 is a little too much maturity for my tastes.

MB on

Bri can be pronounced Bree, Sarita. I have a cousin Brianna and that is pronounced Bree-ann-ah.

Carol on

I personally wouldn’t put my baby bouncer on the counter right next to the coffee pot. I guess nobody has ever had a baby before by reading her interview. Hopefully, she’ll grow up really fast and her family will be good. The baby is adorable.

my father is a photographer and i often go to photoshoots with him
i think that the whole “baby bouncer on the counter” might not be their idea.
photograhers normally influence an entire situation, even down to the nightie.
might not be but just by my view of it.
baby is well cute though!

Marissa Nomakeo on

I just can’t help but think they look like they’re playing house! :-X “It is so much fun. I just want to hug her and kiss her, and I’m hapyp all the time.” I’m glad she’s enjoying it, and props to her for handling everything with maturity! She seems pretty determined!

Tiffany on

It doesn’t matter if the bouncer is attended or not. It doesn’t belong on the edge of any high surface. Something could break, someone could trip and push the bouncer, it’s a serious thing. I’m not blaming JL and Casey for the poor choice. The photographer shouldn’t be showing “Hey! It’s okay to put your child on the counter like we do!”. That pose could’ve been done with them kneeling over the bouncer on the floor or something.

Sarah on

wow, seriously? it never ceases to amaze me how some of the posters can take a nice picture and turn it into some major life lesson. the point of the photo shoot was not to educate people on child safety. anyways, if you’re going to take parenting advice from a picture in OK! magazine, you’re probably doomed to begin with. it’s just a magazine spread. besides, her parents are standing right there and newborns don’t exactly bounce themselves.

anyways, maddie is adorable! best of luck to the three of them.

MommyX2 on

Lol at the comments with the bouncer being on the counter. Seriously? A “serious safety issue?” Come on. They probably just put it up there for the picture for a few minutes. There have been countless times that I have placed my infant carseat with my baby in it on a table, counter, etc. for a few minutes. I guess that makes me a horrible mother who is showing others to make a serious safety mistake as well? Give me a break.

well said sarah and mommyX2!

I think that people are always going to try and pick faults at the littlest things.

GiveMeABreak on

So I have finally come up with a reason why baby pictures/stories are so popular. The truth is everyone is so bored with their own lives, that they must live vicariously through celebrities. Because they think celebs are perfect, they feel the need to point out every little thing they are doing wrong to show them they are not perfect. I can’t even count how many times I have read or seen pics and someone had ALWAYS pointed out “she shouldn’t do that” “Real moms know it’s not like that”. People feel the need to put down the celebs so they can feel better.

Tiffany on

I’m glad you guys are taking it so lightly. There are numerous accidents from these things being put in improper spots and even the manufacturers say that they shouldn’t be left on a high surface. At least I know my 2 children will be safe because I know better than to put them at risk like that. Kids fall off of beds all the time when their parents are “right there”.

Anyways, cute pics and good luck to JL and Casey.

Bb on

That baby is gorgeous.

SS on

The pictures are very nice and it’s great to see how much they seem to have prepared for the baby but I can’t get over how old she looks. I know she probably wants to portray herself as mature but she doesn’t have to make herself look 35. She is a young Mom, it is what it is. Anyway,I wish the two of them the best.

Jess on

First off, I’m guessing the coffee wasn’t hot. It’s a prop, I’m guessing it’s been sitting there for who knows how long.

And secondly, I don’t think it’s fair to freak out over putting the baby up on the counter. Sure, some people wouldn’t do it, but others do. We did it ourselves when he was a newborn, in a very simliar item funny enough. I think we even did it the first day we came home & were trying to get things together. I’m sure no one was going to walk off & leave the baby, I’m sure they don’t just leave that thing up there all the time, I’m guessing it was just for a photo actually. I’m sure they have common sense.

Erica on

GiveMeABreak, I actually think it’s the opposite. I for one am glad that posters on this site are willing to point at some of the mistakes celebrities make because so many people act like someone famous is above reproach just by virtue of their fame. I remember when Britney Spears was speeding down the highway with Sean Preston on her lap, and some (not necessarily on this site) were *still* defending her and saying that anyone criticizing her was just jealous. Maybe I would take the cash (lol) but I would never wish for the level of fame that a lot of Hollywood entertainers have.

That said, I have to admit that these outtake shots really are beautiful, but the one in the kitchen does look like they are playing house!

LisaB on

Well said GiveMeABreak. I completely agree with you! Sarah, you said it too. This is not a big deal..parents are RIGHT there, I am sure they got the shot in a second or two and newborns do NOT bounce themselves. Hell, I still bathe my 9 month old on the kitchen counter b/c he freaks in the big bath, so we still use the baby bath. GASP!
Whatever!

MommyX2 on

Oh, I forgot to mention. My almost 3 year old sits on the counter next to the sink all the time when I do the dishes. And she’s not a sleeping, non-moving newborn. Holy moly. Someone better call SS.

Julie on

The baby is so cute and their house looks very beautiful. But I honestly think the picture of her in the nightie on the bed was a bit much for a 17 year old, but that is just my honest opinion and believe me that doesn’t mean much! ;)

Kiki on

Awww! They’re adorable. They should have used that last picture for the cover, they both look absolutely gorgeous in that one!

Sara on

I can see the bouncer situation both ways…
you should never set these on the counter with the baby unattended…it says so on the product for a reason. Babies fall and can be seriously hurt.

BUT – I did this with my son when he came home in a chair very similar to this. The difference was that he had the strap around him and was on the center of the kitchen table. I’m guessing Maddie’s chair has a strap too – they just didn’t strap her in probably because it would get in the way of the photo. I’m sure they would probably strap her in if they were at home…

The reason for me doing this? 1. Sometimes it’s colder on the floor and drafty…it just seems warmer on the table. 2. They’re at eye level when you’re in the kitchen cooking and doing other things. 3. I had a toddler at the time and a dog. The baby, who can’t move much anyway, would be way safer on the table than in the path of a running toddler or dog. That’s the way I saw it. A mother is probably going to know when it’s NOT safe to put the baby on the table in the chair. If the baby is within arms reach – which Maddie is – then it’s not really a crime what they’re doing here. I’m sure there’s lots of mothers who have done the exact same thing. Also, like other posters have said, it’s a posed photo obviously.

Elyse on

Maddies is a very sweet little girl. I especially like the 5th photo… so adorable!

Autumn on

Wow quite the pics and little family! The baby and Jamie and Casey are adorible, but as everyone should know it’s only because Jamie Lynn was a rather successful child star could she & Casey afford a $300,000 brand new house and 5 acre farm at 17 and 19 years old. (*On a real estate note, that price probably isn’t bad compared to some locations, ie. her sister’s millionaire mansions or most “average” houses in CA, but most average teenage mothers in MS or Lousianna wouldn’t be able to afford property that right away. Most likely they’d still be in HS, etc. at 17.)

Obviously the pic of Jamie, Casey, and baby Maddie in their kitchen was posed for the camera, for effect. The kitchen has beautiful countertops, and it looks like the photographers were more focused on showcasing her kitchen, and using the people as accents.

The nightgown picture was beautiful, BUT far too mature for her age (even if she is a mother now) and came out looking too much like the inspiration to the cover of a paperback romance novel, dykwim?

mommylisa on

ohh she is soo precious!! do any of you have a baby??? I do, and from the experiance of having my little girl, leyah-ann, at only 17, i thought it would be a struggle, but now that she is here in my arms, i cant imagine life without her!
