Is she just getting her license NOW??

Aw, her bump is so cute!

Aw, her bump is so cute. She looks great!

*sigh* must be nice to have drivers around so much that you don’t need to worry about having a license right away. I would LOVE that! What I don’t love: that shirt. I’d almost put up with the headbands everyday if I never saw that strange shirt again. It’s like the bustier version of the Tuxedo t-shirt. Love her hair, tho’! She can really pull off all different colors.

- carie on

What was she taking a driving test for? I could’ve sworn I saw her driving herself around on that reality show she did a few years back, so it can’t be that she’s just getting her license right now. I’m confused =/

Anyway, I like her outfit here. Especially the glittery shoes, hehe. I also love how happy she looks all the time. I wonder if they’ll share sex of the baby when they find out?

- Luisa on

That’s funny, my sister-in-law didn’t get her driver’s license until she was pregnant either! Of course she grew up in London, then moved to NYC and has lived there ever since (so no actual need for a license.) But once she got pregnant it became important to her that she have her license. Makes sense to me.

Ashley’s just getting her license now? That makes seem younger than her 23 and nearly 24 years!

Her shirt’s okay because I’ve seen even crazier looking maternity wear ot there. I guess as long as she’s comfortable.

- Autumn on

Luisa I was thinking the same thing! I was watching an eps of the ashlee simpson show the other day and she was definitely driving ^_^

- kerry on

Luisa – I thought the same thing about her driving on her show.

She looks cute. Is that a real tatoo on her arm?

- Leela on

She’s probably just getting it renewed.

I love her hair.

- Allie on

She can’t be just getting her license because I saw her on her reality show driving around and this was several years ago…!!! This doesn’t make sense…..mmmmmm……

- Doreen on

It makes sense. She did recently get married after-all. She was probably just getting it renewed with a name change/hyphenation. :)

- Dakota on

Yay for passing! She looks so cute!

I’m a 25 year old mother of 2 who still doesn’t have a license LOL

- Colleen on

I’m 24 and I don’t have mine. I’m going on Saturday to get it. Wish me luck! It’s my only chance! I never needed it before now, really.

But, in regards to Ashlee, maybe she didn’t have one in that state before. One of my friends just moved to another state and had to take the written part over again. Another friend moved to Florida and had to take the actual test again. I guess it varies.

- MayBe on

Maybe Ashlee had a learner’s permit at the time of the reality show, and was allowed to drive if accompanied by a licensed driver. Perhaps she just never got around to actually getting a driver’s license until now.

Still, I think it would be a major pain to live in LA without a license. I’m surprised she held out for so long!

- sarah on

i love her hair and in one picture you can see that Jessica is her older sister she had the same face.

Love the hair colour wonder what shade is it.
And i am 25 still can not drive had one class and i did brilliant but its just i moved to London 1. do not need to drive as there are buses and tubes.2 husband drives 3. like hell am i driving on London streets the things i have seen people do and lucky my husband has quick reflexes and instincts when driving because god knows how many cars would have hit us (people are mental on them roads)

- nikki on

I’m a 23 year old mother of 3 and don’t have it. I don’t see the big deal.

Good for her for passing though.

- Amber S on

OK going out on a limb here, since I don’t follow her life, nor do I know where she lives/has been living. But when I moved from one state to another, and it was time to renew my license, I found that there was no reciprocity between the two states, so I had to take a driver’s test (I had a CT license and moved to Chicago). I now in in RI, and did not have to take a test for my RI license. So maybe this was the case? Her outfit is bad, but I reveled in so-bad-it’s-good outfits when pregnant! He looks great, but lose the hat! It’s July!

- crimpe on

CONGRATS TO HER!!! I KNOW EXACTLY HOW SHE FEELS!!!

I just got mine a month ago and I turned 24 in March. You never know the reason behind her not having it. Mines a long story…

It’s an amazing thing!! I remember the day I kept saying “omg I can drive now…I have a freaking license!” ha

- ERICKA on

I would tend to agree with the getting it renewed view as my boyfriend is going thru the same thing right now. He had a NY license and has to do the whole rigamarole again to get one down South.
SO glad to see her lovely face again and not the headband. She is so pretty without those things on! Her style is quirky and trendy so I think the outfit is cute on her. :)

- facingdawn on

She was definetly driving in The Ashlee Simpson Show because I remember this whole episode about her getting really lost driving in LA with her navigation system.

you know, you’re probably right. she was probably renewing, or getting a new one for a different state. maybe her other one for her home state expired. at least she remembered, if that’s the case. I think not getting a new license for CA is one of the things B.Spears got in trouble for.

- carie on

I really like her hair like that!
I don’t have a driving license either and I’m 24.I never needed it cause I lived in cities in Europe and Canada where having a car is really awful, useless and expensive.Walking or public transports are easier.

- ma74 on

I’m 26 and I don’t have my license either. I’m so glad I don’t live in LA. I can’t imagine having to get in a car every time I wanted to go anywhere.

- emily on

Wow,where do all of you who do not have drivers licences live? I am not knocking it in anyway shape or form. I am just interested.

I moved from California, to South Dakota(for 4months)and then back to California and have to take the written test all over again. I am panicking so I just keep using my South Dakota ID until I feel that I can take the test again succesfully. :) Hahahaha I know I am lazy

- Mom of boys on

I know this is a tad off topic but these comments have made me feel so much better about myself! I am 23 and will be 24 in Sept and don’t have my DL. Everyone in my family and my boyfriends harps on it all the time and I feel like a loser sometimes because of it. I keep trying to explain that I am scared but they just don’t get it!

ON TOPIC: Ashlee and her bump look cute and I love her hair!

- Crystal on

Crystal, I was in the same situation. I didn’t get mine until I was 23. I was really scared, and everyone laughed at me. I finally worked up the courage to just go and try to pass. What is the worst that can happen? You fail? You can always take it again. Do not let fear hold you back! Getting my DL was so liberating. I have felt like a whole new person for the year I have had it. You can do it girl! If I can, you can :)

- Kate on

Thanks so much Kate! I have been practicing when I have time so I am shooting for it within in the next 3 months!

- Crystal on

I have a good # of friends without DL. When you live in a big city it’s easier to walk and take public transportation than it is to drive and try to find parking.

Interesting outfit. I think I like her maxi dresses better.

- MB on

I’ll be 31 next month and I honestly don’t have my license either! LOL Glad to know I’m not alone.

- Doreen on

You know I think it is better to wait to get your license until your older. 16 is just way too young to take on that much responsibility. I waited until I was 18 to get my license because I just wasn’t ready to drive until then. I have had my license for 5 years and I have had no tickets, and I just had my first accident (it wasn’t my fault though, a driver ran a red light.) I am glad I waited and I see nothing wrong with it. I think you should wait until you feel your’e ready to drive. Crystal I Know you will do great, take your time, and when you do get that little piece of plastic (which I know you will!) it feels really, really good! Good Luck!

- Elyse on

I waited several months on getting mine and my brother was in his 20′s before he decided to get his. I have several mom friends who don’t have theirs. I don’t think it’s all that unusual not to have one.

Congrats to Ashlee on passing her test. She’s looking so nice with her little bump now – I’ve loved the maxidresses she’s been sporting!

- Kristen on

I got my license at the grand ole age of 36 and only because I had to because our gifted son’s new school was too far away to reach by bus or tram… unless you wanted to get up at the crack of dawn that is…

Congrats !

I know how scared I was (it’s 3 years this September 6th !!!!)

- kiki on

She had her license. She was just changing her name to Simpson-Wentz.
