Melissa Joan Hart's son wants to "hold the baby!"

L_247c5f915ef14bec499b944bd1f551d0Adding a new baby to the family can cause various reactions and emotions from the siblings, sometimes for the worst.  Luckily, actress Melissa Joan Hart has only had positive reactions from son Mason Walter, 2 ½, since Braydon "Brady" Hart arrived four months ago.  The 32-year-old mom happily revealed that Mason "loves his brother" and wants to spend as much time with him as possible.

He always wants to hold Brady. ‘I hold the baby, I hold the baby!’ he yells. I put Brady in his arms — and he wants me to leave!

My 2 year old son totally ignored my daughter when she was born at the hospital. Then when we arrived home he constantly said, “Put that baby down” or “Put that baby away.” Being hormonal I wept and thought he’d hate her forever and what did I do to my baby, but now ten years later they’re very close so it wound up just fine.

My two boys are 17 months apart. My oldest son was SO angry when we brought the baby home. He did want to hold him, but would completely act out when too much attention was given to him. The baby is now 16 months old and not much has changed. My older son still is that crazy about his baby brother…hopefully in a few years it will turn around!!
MJHart’s boys are adorable!!

Has anyone else ever noticed that MJH posts a pregnany story, or new picture when another celeb (Jolie-Pitts) have exciting news in their lives (birth of their twins).
Is this a ploy to get people to be interested more in her life?

I’m sure I will get screamed at, but just a trend that I have noticed.

My daughter (4 1/2) acted both positively and negatively to the addition of her baby sister almost 4 weeks ago. She loves her sister and will sometimes ask to hold her and will always give her kisses, but she is very jealous and is always asking us not to hold the baby and gets upset when the baby cries.

She also has been reverting back to being a baby herself… she fake cries, wants to drink only milk, and wants her “diaper” (underwear) changed.

We were very lucky – my daughter was 23 months when our second little girl was born, and she reacted wonderfully to her baby sister. Almost to a fault, she wanted to help with everything – I had to watch to make sure she didn’t smother the baby with blankets when she decided “baby is cold”. 17 months later, they love each other to pieces, play so well together (with of course the requisite sibling squabbles). I hope they have such a strong friendship forever!

My mother and I were in a restaurant and saw that this women was with her 2 year old and one month old. We went up to see the baby and got into conversation and I think my mom asked how was the oldest with his new sibling. The mother said that he is very protective and thinks it’s his. Then the two year old goes “He’s mine. He’s mine” and pulled the carriage towards himself. My heart absolutely melted that I thought I was going to cry.

When my twins were brought home my elder son just a year older held his breath so hard we thought he was going to die. The jealousy and the bitterness he showed that day never went away. 21 years later things have only got worse.

My kids are 15 months apart and since the first moment my son laid eyes on his sister, he has been in love. He calls her “ditty” and constantly wants to hug and kiss her. When she cries, he comes to check on her and the first thing he does in the morning is greet her with “hi ditty, hi ditty!”. I couldn’t have asked for a better situation and I hope it stays that way.

When my brother was born, I apparently cut his face with a cereal box and tried to hit him with a belt! I am 2 years old and of course don’t remember any of this. My brother and I are best of friends now.

My brother and I are 20 months apart … my mom found out the week of my first birthday that she was expecting again and I was definitely guilty of over-loving him, haha. We have on video the first time I met him and my parents let me hold him and I was pointing out all of his facial features … I even stuck my tongue out at him to show him I had a tongue too … and when they took him from me to let my Gran hold him, I FREAKED out. Screaming and crying, yelling that he was “my baby” and that nobody else could hold him. I took care of him from day one, doing everything for him and “helping” him.

The only drawback to that is now I’m 22 and he’s 20 and he still expects me to do things for him! Haha. Of course, being the nice big sister that I am, I still do a lot for him!

Well my Mom has 7 kids, sooo this might be long, lol.

Amy is the oldest, she was 2 1/2 when Brad was born — she HATED him, Mom caught her biting him sevrel times and tried and tried and tried to stop her, punish her, everything…but nothing worked, and so she told the Doctor and the Doctor said “You have to bite her back, that’s the only thing that might stop her.” — and I know it sounds HORRIBLE, but Mom pinched Amy’s arm once when she caught her biting and that didn’t work, so then she bit Amy’s arm another day when she caught her biting Brad and she never bit again, Mom still feels badly about it, lol. — When Kreg was born a few years later (Amy was 6 then) she just LOVED him and nicknamed him Booboo and it’s stuck we never call him Kreg anymore, and she would get up at night with my Mom when she heard him cry and help Mom, she just loved him.

No issues with Amy, Brad, and Booboo when the twins (Tracey and Tyler) were born.

But when Megan was born Mom caught the boys in her crib a few times (they were 3), which was very scary for Mom, they loved her and were very amazed by her.

When I was born my sister Megan HATED me, the rest of my siblings didn’t mind — it wasn’t just at first either, even when I was 2 she pushed me out of the van onto my head and I almost died….fast forward 15 years i’m 17 now and she’s 21 and Megan and I are best best best friends…although that didn’t happen until about the past 3 years, she and I used to fight non stop.

My sister in law and brother Brad just had there second child about 3 weeks ago, my nephew is three next month and he LOVED her up until a few days ago when she started showing signs of colic, at first she hardly cried, but now she cries all the time and he really doesn’t like her, he’s very jealous — so they have to watch him very closley.

My sister and I are only 16 months apart but only when on vacation we played together. We’re still not very close but get on well enough. My mom always tells me that when I was just starting to learn how to stand by holding the bars of the crib, my sister would losen my fingers one by one so that I would fall! A week after I was born she also asked when I would go away again…

My parents got me a baby boy doll the morning after my little brother was born. My mom had me do everything to my doll that she did to the baby. I took care of them both like my own.

I was three then, and I can’t wait to have kids of my own to do the same! (Including an older son who shall also have a baby doll to take care of:)

My oldest was 2 1/2 when her baby brother was born and I’d say she was lukewarm about it all, not overly excited, but not angry either. They still run hot/cold today now that they’re 9 an 6 1/2! When my third was born just four months ago, she had two adoring siblings who consistently fight for her attention. Never thought one little baby girl could wrap her siblings around her finger so well! Just wait till she gets into their things….

When my mom was pregnant with my brother I was so excited to have a sibling. My mom had given me this little journal that I put things in and wrote about how I felt about my new little brother. I was so excited… until he was born. Then it was a whole different story!

At some point after my brother had come home from the hospital I ran to my room upset slammed my door and yelled “when I come out, he better be gone!” Needless to say this story is told often, and it is one I am never going to live down. I can just see it being told in great detail at my wedding someday (rolls eyes.) ;)

There are five of us all within 8 years of each other (four girls and a boy) and we are all immensely close. The only issue I can remember is when the baby was born (said baby is now 26!). I was 5 and can remember going to the hospital to meet her with my brother and sisters and we were all so excited -until we got there ………. Dearest brother screamed “Not another girl” and ran out of the room crying that he’d wanted a dragon. I don’t think he’s ever fogiven her ;)
