Connor Cruise takes to the skies

Tomcruiseconnorcruisemr_fp_190131cb

Tom Cruise hit the big leagues with his film Top Gun in 1986, where he portrayed a Naval aviator who aspires to be a top fighter pilot. Now, it appears as if the 46-year-old’s son Connor Antony is trying to be just like his dad.

The 13 ½-year-old is currently taking flying lessons at a Burbank, CA airfield, where he was spotted this past Saturday afternoon practicing on a Cessna 172 Skyhawk with an instructor.

While Connor is old enough to start testing his flight skills, he will not able to obtain a license until he reaches age 16 as per the Federal Aviation Administration.

Connor’s mom is new celebrity mom Nicole Kidman.

I just saw a picture of Connor leaving his flying lessons riding a motorcycle. It was definitely a motorcycle not a moped or anything like that. Not a good idea, imho.

As far as I know, Connor has been riding dirt bikes for years. Dirt bikes and motorcycles are essentially the same thing.

Did he look like this in the photo? It just looks like he is toodling around a parking lot to practice riding or something.

Nicole Kidman is not a “new” mom! She has two children already!

I wonder if Tom Cruise would adopt me? :-) I think it’s great that they are letting Connor do the things he enjoys. They certainly have the means, why not let the kids persue whatever interests they have (so long as they aren’t dangerous or against the law! :-P )

Have Isabella and Connor gone to visit their mum and new baby sister?

Wow Tom looks younger than 46. It must be so cool to be able to take flying lessons.Especially at such a young age.

Regarding an above comment, I wonder if CBB will eventually start a disclaimer under Cruise articles telling people NOT to post about the Isabella and Connor going to see Nicole or not. It only causes arguments and tension it seems.

They’ve done it with other argument starting topics.

I guess this answers teh questions if kids are in Tennessee or California

Also, Mel, I dont see anything wrong with people discussing various themes. People are free to discuss whatever they want, not what you want them to do. I dont see CBB introducing any such disclaimer

Can’t speak to the validity of the source, but I heard that Tom actually bought Connor a plane for his last birthday and that’s why he’s started taking lessons. Either way, I think it’s neat hobby.

I think it’s a little too young for a 13 year-old to be flying a plane and riding a motorcycle. 16 or older would be a good age, but then again, I’m not his parent.

Molly I was talking about when CBB sometimes tells people to NOT post about little boy hair length, the use of bottles in older toddlers, breast vs bottle feeding, etc in certain article messageboards.

I understand that people can discuss what they want, I never said otherwise (not sure how that was taken the wrong way…) I was just saying that with disclaimers occuring due to past arguments that always happen from the above topics I listed, I was just wondering if people start bringing up the kids visiting Nicole even when it’s not the topic more and more, if CBB would ever tell people to NOT talk about that if the issue didn’t involve the kids visiting her.

I didn’t mean it to be taken with offence by anyone, it was just curiosity.

regarding the “motorcycle” he was on a minicycle…playing around on the flight grounds. He wasn’t driving off on his own plus it’s way to small to be street legal.
