Anthony Kiedis and Everly get ID'd at LAX

Everly Bear Kiedis, 9 months, looked on as Anthony Kiedis had his identification checked before boarding a plane at LAX on Sunday. The Red Hot Chili Pepper, 45, and his longtime girlfriend Heather Christie, 22, recently ended their relationship. Heather told PEOPLE,

Anthony is a great dad and I will love him forever for giving me the gift of life. I really hope he finds what he’s looking for.

Does anyone know which parent has primary custody? This is my favourite little person ever, he’s just so adorable, and the spitting image of his gorgeous daddy. I hope the split is handled with the primary focus being Everly’s future, really sad news that they couldn’t make it work, but as long as they’re both hands on parents, that’s the main thing. Most beautiful father/son duo out there!

Yup, like a lot of you, I am completely willing to drop everything and offer a break to Everly and Anthony, so if they would like to pop over to England, then they are welcome to stay with me lol. Seriously though, I just hope Heather and Anthony are actually on good terms for their son’s sake. I got the impression from the last line of her statement that she might be harbouring some less than good feelings about the aftermath of the break-up. Whatever the case, I hope they can work things out best for the baby .

They were together for three years, I think that counts as longtime. I would say any longterm relationship over two years.

Does anyone know where he was heading? I just saw an Anthony Kiedis look alike yesterday when I was out walking in Grand Haven, MI. He was riding a bike with one of those covered trailers that you would pull a baby in. Shirt off and same eagle tattoo on back. Hmmmm…

Sarita – why is it sympathy for Heather having to ‘do it alone’ and not Anthony? First time parenting is difficult at the best of times, it doesn’t matter how old you are. I’m sure you didn’t mean it, but I found your comment to be somewhat narrowminded. I have sympathy for both parents, because they both deserve support and good thoughts. And on the subject of what happened in the break-up, having thought about it, I really don’t think we can take much from a three sentence statement. Heather may just be feeling hurt and has therefore added the gem at the end of it about Anthony looking for something. Whatever went wrong doesn’t matter when there’s a child involved. As long as they are both there for little Everly, that’s all that counts.

I really don’t think Heather was taking a cheap shot. Anthony has always had a restlessness in him. If you read any of his writings or his autobiography, he is pretty upfront about having tried to fill himself up with knowledge, women, drugs, all kinds of things. He seems to have a very restless spirit. I think Heather’s comment is probably pretty spot on. As the mother of their child what more could she ask for than for him to find that something he is searching for? To be whole and present and show himself as whole for their child to see?

facingdawn – I totally see your point, but I still think it was a bit pointed. And I’ve read his book, but, if anything, I think as a child who was raised by separated parents, he would more than likely have wanted Everly to have what he didn’t always have, that being a present father. Anyone who has read the book would know how much pain it caused Anthony to have Blackie be away from him so much in his early years. I might be wrong, but I don’t see him thinking that chasing other women or generally feeling restless as a good enough reason to leave the mother of his son and not being able to be with Everly all the time, whenever he wants to be.

Other than the very very honest accounts in Scar Tissue, Anthony isn’t a particularly open person with the press so the likelyhood is that we will probably never know what really happened. And to be honest, with a child involved, I’d feel uncomfortable with seeing them taking bad public shots at each other. I’ve said it before, but I really just hope that everything is handled well for the little one’s sake.

my hubby and i were in grand haven on vacation from july 15-18 and we plopped our beach blanket about 20 feet from him on the beach. i thought it was him, and when i took his towel off his shoulders, i saw the indian tattoos i know he has…and then he was slightly mobbed by some people while i just kept clicking away with my camera…he was very gracious.
