Dear Christy - Dr. Diane and Dr. JJ here from MD Moms (we are big CBB fans..). We just wanted to give you a little more information about sunscreens that you might find helpful. The biggest difference between MD Moms wipes and Shady Day is that our towelettes contain a physical sunscreen and theirs contains a chemical sunscreen. Physical suncreens are immediately active when applied to the skin. Chemical sunscreens require several minutes to absorb into the skin before they reach their stated sun protection factor. Titanium and/or zinc are the ingredients preferred by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Dermatology for use in babies under 6 months of age. Zinc and titanium have the benefit of being less irritating to sensitive skin. High quality zinc and titanium are pricey, but worth the cost when considering their safety and efficacy profiles, especially on young skin. We hope that this information will clarify the differences between Shady Day and MD Moms Baby Silk.
We are thrilled that all of you are blogging about sunscreen - an area of health prevention that we are both passionate about.
We applaud all of you for being concerned enough about your children's skin health to spend time in discussion!

ps. We have not yet been carried by Destination Maternity or their sister stores - but do hope to be there in the future.

Warmest regards,

Brooke, I used both products and found Shady Day just as good as MD Moms. The Shady Day wipes smell nicer too and they are like half the price.
Destination Maternity store even switched MD Moms for Shady Day but I do not know the reason.
I also use the Shady Day Sun Stick for my babies face. Hope this helps.

I was curious if anyone has used both these as well as the Baby Silk sunscreen towelettes?
http://www.mdmoms.com/products/baby007/index.asp

I'm currently using the Baby Silk, and while the obvious difference seems to be price, I would like to know if they work equally well.

Thanks for any info you can provide!
