Warning: Clicking on the Penny People Designs link that you see before you may result in a serious addiction to beautiful custom stationery. Don’t say I didn’t warn you…

A few years ago, I had my first child. Along with his arrival came the need for all kinds of stationery. Thank you cards, first birthday invitations, mommy calling cards, Christmas cards… you get the idea. And then along came my daughter and it was time to go through it all again. Luckily, I’ve had Penny People Designs helping me look good right from the start. For a little while, I was even lucky enough to live near the Penny People Designs studio –which is based out of Toronto — so over the course of my custom stationery addiction, the designer has grown quite accustomed to working with me (and all my perfectionist requests!).

The fact that clients can have complete control over the design of their stationery is what I love most about Penny People Designs: they offer original, high-quality, stationery with a customizable element that goes above and beyond most stationery companies.

Because the folks at Penny People Designs do all the designs and printing themselves, designs can be modified — at no extra cost, which to me is a spectacular bonus — to create pieces that are unique to each client.

Anyone can walk into a stationery store and buy pretty note cards or cute invitations, but Penny People Designs actually encourages clients to unleash their inner graphic designer and customize products to their heart’s content.

Take the most recent thank you cards I ordered from Penny People Designs. My daughter’s nickname while I was pregnant was Little Plum. So I wrote to Penny People Designs and requested thank you cards with a picture of a wee plum on them. We then worked together to choose colors, add my daughter’s name, and finalize little details. The end result was perfect and exactly what I’d imagined. (Here is where my friends and family are reading this review and thinking, "Really? Those cards sound lovely, but I don’t remember seeing them.” Yes. Well, that’s because… ahem… I haven’t sent them yet…)

And — though they didn’t start making them until it was a bit too late for me — Penny People Designs also sells gorgeous birth announcements. They almost make me want to have another baby just so I can send them out! (I said almost, Mom. Almost.)

While you’re visiting the site, don’t forget to have a look at another popular item, toddler invitations. Those first-birthday guests will love receiving a little Penny People Designs version of the birthday boy or girl in the mail. Any invitation with a little Penny Person on it offers the option of selecting hair color and style and skin color to make the character look like the guest of honor.

With other stunning and classic products like address labels, correspondence cards, personalized stickersmoving announcements,  and Penny People Designs is bringing back the charm of the written word. With your help, of course.

See? I told you an addiction to custom stationery was in your future.

Your write up on Penny People is spot-on!

They are incredibly creative and launch new designs all the time.

I loved sending out my Maternity cards, and they did a fabulous job on my Baby Shower invites.

A friend of mine ordered her kids’ Bar Mitsvah invites from Penny People (VERY last minute) and she was thrilled.

I HIGHLY recommend this company.
