New mom Angela Kinsey: "Every cliché is true"

07/02/2008 at 04:30 PM ET

Angela_kinsey_31933df4653192739d05fAngela Kinsey took part of The Office — a Dwight bobblehead — along on her maternity leave, and she’s glad she did. Daughter Isabel Ruby, now 8 weeks, "loves the bobblehead," laughs the proud new mom. "I dangle it in front of her and she instantly calms down – it’s my secret weapon."

The TV accountant introduces her little girl in this week’s issue of People magazine. Arriving by c-section on May 3rd, Angela shares that she "just cried" as Isabel was placed on her chest. Explaining that "every cliché is true," the 36-year-old actress doesn’t think she can "love anything more." Although delivering surgically required a longer hospital stay, Angela and husband Warren Lieberstein didn’t mind, as it offered them more time to finalize Isabel’s name.

We named her the third day in the hospital. We wanted to meet her first.

Angela, who credits breastfeeding with her 27-lbs weight loss (it took her six weeks), revealed that her Office co-stars were and continue to be a strong support for her. While pregnant, Leslie David Baker, who plays Stanley, provided her with snacks. "Sweet" Steve Carell gave "great baby advice," along with a Boppy nursing pillow. Close friend Jenna Fischer had kind words of her own for Angela, calling her "very peaceful" since becoming a mom.

It’s as if she’s have five kids! Isabel is so sweet, I want to hold her all the time.

Every celebrity parent now says “Every cliche is true.” That is now becoming a cliche. Come up with something new :)

Im confused…..Her name is Isabel and then at the end of the story, you call her Ruby. Does she go by her middle name?

And please stop giving breast-feeding the credit for post-partum weight loss! It’s because of genetics/metabolism. I breastfed until my butt was numb (from sitting so much) for the first few months, and believe me, my son gained way more weight than I lost! And no, I wasn’t stuffing my face, only eating the same way I did before I got pregnant, and weighed 125 lbs. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t breastfeed–it is the best thing you can do for your kid. But it is no magic bullet to lose weight.

Love Angela, and I’m so excited we’re going to get a pic of little Isabel! Bet she’s just adorable!

Tricia-

For some people, it is. There was a big discussion post after Salma Hayek said it was a myth, but lots of CBB readers swear it worked for them.

Angela seems like such a great new mom. She really loves her daughter. I can not wait to see pictures of little Isabel! And I can not wait till the Office comes back on. Angela’s character had such a funny season finale!

Breastfeeding CAN and DOES help women lose weight post baby.

Many women watch what they’re eating a little closer, and are making better food choices that they might otherwise while they are providing nourishment for their child.

I gained almost 70 pounds while pregnant (Go Working in a Restaraunt while Pregnant) and lost 45 pounds of that quickly and easily while nursing. Not ALL of it came off right away, but it helped me make better food choices, and drink lots of water and just take care of myself better.

I’m not saying that gaining 70 pounds while pregnant is a good thing either. I do not have some magic metabolism, and I contribute MY post baby weight loss to nursing. The rest of the weight is still working it’s way off… LOL.

It helped me.

And I dont think Angela has to stop saying anything, Tricia.

I love Angela and can’t wait to see her precious bundle. It’s so funny thst Uncle Dwight bobble head calms her down.

Nursing helped me lose weight with both my sons. I have NEVER been someone who has an easy time with their weight and can gain very easily, so I do attribute a lot of my loss to the fact that I had hungry boys who were burning lots of extra calories for me!!

"We weren't trying to have kids. We left it up to fate. I knew there was a possibility, but I was really excited. Even if you are trying, just to see a positive result is shocking!"
