Ben Affleck talks about responsibility to his child, and the world

A recent trip to the Congo while working as a guest correspondent for Nightline has "definitely changed" Ben Affleck.  The 35-year-old actor, dad to 2 ½-year-old Violet Anne, tells US that his work served to remind him of his "responsibility to do something" with his life "that’s other than just serving mileage in some way."

You have a responsibility to your kid and also a responsibility to the world around you, so all that [is] part of the motivation for doing all this stuff.

Violet is Ben’s daughter with wife Jennifer Garner.

Yeah, Violet is a pretty lucky little celebrity kid. In spite of what her parents do for a living, she gets to do normal stuff like regular kids. Ben and Jen are focused on giving her a life free from the glitz and glamour expected from celebrity couples. They dress her like a regular kid, take her to fun places like the park, farmers market, the library and to feed the ducks, where they could easily blend in with the crowd (if the paps weren’t ever present). Ben has a hard time dealing with them. Jen is so amazing, she pretty much ignores them for Violet’s sake. Hence, Violet is not affected too much by their presence. Anyway, I love this family and wish them luck with their delightful little cupcake.
