Tamzin Outhwaite and Tom Ellis welcome daughter Florence Elsie

Despite teasing journalists with a comment about her blue dress, the baby Tamzin Outhwaite gave birth to last week was, in fact, a girl! Florence Elsie Ellis is the first child for the 37-year-old former EastEnders actress and the second for partner Tom Ellis, who is already father to Nora, 2 ½.

A statement from Tamzin’s rep said that the parents were "pleased to announce" the birth, but did not provide any details besides their daughter’s name. The couple had announced the pregnancy in March.

Aww congrats to her and Tom! She is one of my fave actresses, the name is gorgeous as well. Clever diversion of us all guessing it was a girl too lol, I was convinced it was going to be a boy. They kept that quiet as well considering she was born a week ago. Welcome to the world Florence! x
