Janet Jackson will be "a great mom," boyfriend says

Janet Jackson, 42, has recently spoken of her desire to be a mom, and to hear longtime boyfriend Jermaine Dupri tell it, her dream is poised to become a reality.  Jermaine tells People that the couple plan to have a baby "soon," and will begin trying "right after [Janet's] tour" ends this fall.  Jermaine said he agrees with Janet’s belief that growing up in a large family will help prepare her for motherhood.

Janet would be a great mom. She was around so many brothers and sisters all her life, so she’s got to know what that is [like]. And her mom is a great mother.

Jermaine, 35, already has a daughter — Shaniah — from a previous relationship and added that he has no preference when it comes to a boy or a girl.  "It really doesn’t matter," Jermaine said.

Janet Jackson is so busy prepping for her upcoming Rock With U World Tour, she must have forgotten her plan to have a baby with longtime boyfriend Jermaine Dupri following said tour. Or maybe she was never clued in to the pregnancy plot?

“So, Jermaine…said that you guys may be ready for baby. Is that true?” Ryan Seacrest probed this morning on his KIIS-FM morning show.

A stunned-sounding Janet replied, “When did he say that?”

Ryan told Janet that when asked by People magazine this weekend, “Are you imminently ready for baby?” Jackson’s potential baby daddy said, “Yeah, soon. Right after the tour.”

“I guess he is,” Janet acknowledged, laughing.

No word on whether Janet is agreeing to take part in these rumored baby-making plans, but we have a feeling her man is going to be getting an earful tonight—and not the kind that involves hip-hop beats.

that family really weirds me out. not sure i’d want to grow up as a jackson! the body and image issues in the family, not to mention all the other issues, are really outstanding!

but if she wants kids, which it’s hard to tell based on all the info., then i wish them the best.

I can’t see Janet having kids. She obviously doesn’t want any, her choice.

Ellen, there is nothing wrong with the Jackson Family. Don’t be fooled by the lies! I am a huge fan of MJ and a fan of Janet’s. I am going to America for 2weeks in September, staying in Las Vegas. I am going to Janet’s concert there, can’t wait to see her.

I agree with everyone saying she probably doesn’t want kids. I am the same age as her and believe me it is not easy to conceive. All these over 40 celebs who think they can wait are in for a huge surprise when they get to their OB or RE for that matter. TTC over 40 is alot of work.

I am a HUGE Janet fan and I also believe that she really doesn’t want kids and there is nothing wrong with that. However she seems to be great with JD’s daughter Shaniah but maybe she’s content as a “step” mother and has no desire to really want them herself.

I too will be seeing Janet on tour so as far as her getting pregant she better just hold off until after I see her
