Cute kids, very very unique names… does anyone know any additional information about the origins of his kids names? And what are all the “T”s for?? Just curious!

Akhenaten Kihwa-T, Iset Jua-T, 6, Alaafia Jehu-T, and Alimayu Moa-T are all Egyptian names if I’m not mistaken. I’m not sure about Jelani Asar but I would suspect Jelani is an African name and Asar is Asian in origin.

I didn’t even know he had children. I really don’t like the names, especially the T part.

- Sarita on

Does anyone know the signifigance of the ‘T’?

- Ivey on

Those children are gorgeous, especially the little guy!

- Asiram on

jelani’s not half asian. Asar is an arabic name, and jelani has west african roots.

and the first poster was correct, those names have ancient egyptian (kimetic) roots.

Wow…they’re beautiful!

I know that’s his middle initial (Trent is his middle name. Unless he wanted them to have part of his name in there or something, I don’t know. I do remember some people always referring to him as “Wesley T. Snipes” ways back, always putting the T in there…

Except for the youngest one, who has his dad’s pout, the older two take after their mother, I think. Then again, when I look at the girl, I can see Wesley in her.

They’re all cute.

Is the mother Korean?

- Lilly on

I don’t care for their names either, but I’ve heard worse (i.e. Audio Science, Banjo, etc.)

However, they are absolutely gorgeous kids! Wow!!

- Daniela on

Those are really beautiful children! They have unique faces.

Thanks for clearing up the “T” questions. I was wondering about that, as well.

- Stephany on

The kids have an Egyptian looks to them. Reminds me of Cleopatra’s three younger kids, although they were probably lighter and fairer since they were Greco-Romans. Wesley’s kids are so cute, especially the youngest one, with his little pout!

- Lynsey on

I think she’s south korean, lilly.

I swear the youngest one (pictured) will grow up to be such a ladykiller, lol.

To pitch in about the names, Akhenaten Kihwa-T was probably named after the Egyptian king Akhenaten, that introduces monoteism in Egypt 4000 years ago and was married to the beautiful Nefertiti. I really do like those two names, though not the T part.

Pictures of his kids are rare, it’s nice to see them. I have a son that is the same age as the youngest, also Korean/Black. His hair is exactly like the children’s, but I keep it short because grown out it looks like a birds nest….but to each their own. Very cute kids.

Asar is also Kemetic (Ancient Egyptian) it is neither asian nor arabic. It is the proper Kemetic for the name more commonally known as Osiris, which is a Greek translation.

- Sedjm Neteru on

Akhenaten is ancient egyptian king, Kihwa is korean, Iset is the actual pronunciation of Isis Ancient Egyptian goddess, Jua, I dont know, Alaafia is a arabic name, Jehu is hebrew Alimayu Moa-T,I dont know, Jelani is some kind of African name and Asar is the the proper pronunciation for Egyptian god Osiris
