Randy Jackson says Clay Aiken is a "good guy"

American Idol judge Randy Jackson, 51, was among one of the fathers recognized today, June 11th, at the 67th Annual "Father of the Year Awards" in New York City.  An experienced father of three kids — Taylor, 17, Zoe, 11, and Jordan, 9 — Randy walked the red carpet where he was met with reporters and their much-anticipated question: "What are your thoughts on Clay Aiken becoming a father?"

Playing it cool, Randy offered his congratulations to the American Idol alum, and had only positive things to say about the new journey the 29-year-old — who Randy says is a "compassionate, very humble, smart guy" — will soon embark on.

Oh dude, that’s cool.  He’s a good guy.  He’ll be a good dad, actually, Clay.

Taylor’s mother is Randy’s ex-wife, Elizabeth Jackson, while Zoe and Jordan’s mother is Randy’s current wife, Erika Riker.  Clay and music producer, Jaymes Foster, will welcome their first child — rumored to be a boy — in August.
