Mark Wahlberg says Ella is disappointed to have two brothers

Markwahlberg Being a big sister to two little brothers is a reality that 4 ½-year-old Ella Rae is still coming to grips with, her dad Mark Wahlberg recently told US.  While at first his daughter was "extremely disappointed" to learn that the baby Mark expects in September with fiancée Rhea Durham was a boy, Mark said Ella is beginning to understand the perks of being the only girl.  Said Mark,

She wanted a little sister.  She already had all these plans of dressing a little sister up in clothes.  But I told her, ‘Honey, that means you’ll be more spoiled than the boys.’ She goes, ‘Oh, daddy, I didn’t think of that!’

The reality of a third child is something Mark and Rhea, who are also parents to 2-year-old Michael, are also coming to grips with in their own way;  Mark revealed that he’s losing his home office in order to make room for the baby’s nursery.  If he’s feeling intimidated by the notion of being a dad-of-three, however, he’s not showing it.  Mark told People the couple is "thrilled" to add to their family, adding,

For the most part, my kids are darlings.  But at 5 a.m., it can be a little crazy.

Mark’s co-star in The Happening actress Zooey Deschanel raved about his enthusiasm for fatherhood, telling US that the 37-year-old actor "loves his children so much" and "talks about them all the time."  Mark said making the movie — which opens on Friday — was a priority because it’s family-friendly, something that has become increasingly important to him.

This is a movie that my nieces and nephews can watch. I’ve done things that I’m not proud of, and that I’m going to have to explain, [like] running around in my underwear.

He seems to be maturing more as he get’s older. I’m glad he’s realized where is priorities should be.

How old are his nieces and nephews? It’s rated R! Although I’m guessing they’d be more comfortable watching their uncle killing aliens (I’m guessing here, I haven’t seen it yet.) than the, um, more colourful things he’s done on screen :D

Um, how is The Happening a family-friendly film? It’s rated R and is an M. Night Shymalan movie (which are never family-friendly).

He’s the youngest of nine kids, so I imagine he has lots of nieces and nephews and that a fair amount of them are probably old enough to see The Happening.

I’ve always been a huge fan of his so I’m very happy for him, Rhea, and the whole family.

As for the comment about a movie his nieces and nephews can see, he, at 37, is the baby of a family of 8 or 9, if I remember correctly, so I’m assuming that the majority of his nieces and nephews are, at the very least, 16 or older. Besides, the R rating was most likely given due to violent scenes and images, not because he’s a porn star shooting graphic sex scenes. I know I’d rather have my family see that then me in a mirror, unzipping my pants, and showing off my stuff.

I’d be more worried about my nieces and nephews being BORED OUT OF THEIR MINDS at an M. Night Shymalan movie than scared…

mmh, your comment was little mean. M. Night Shyamalan had some really good movies, like 6th sense and the Village. Some of the other movies were not that great, but overall he’s a very good director and writer and I hope that he makes more great movies !! We are huge fans of him and we are going to see the Happening this weekend

There was a short series last year on tv, I think it was called The Kill point, and I think it was with Donnie, it was really good, he looked really mature, and so changed from the NKOTB era

I may be a bit old fashioned but I think that Mark and Rhea should get married!

I see what you mean Avery, but The Happening is not even close to what I’d call a family movie.
