Jodie Sweetin talks about her 'daddy's girl,' labor and more
Her pregnancy may have been easy, but delivering daughter Zoie Laurelmae Herpin, 8-weeks, certainly wasn’t for Jodie Sweetin. In a new interview with MomToBeDepot.com, Jodie revealed that she underwent a C-section after laboring for nearly 40 hours. Fortunately, with the assistance of family members and a certain fuzzy focal point Jodie said the birth experience was still a happy one.
My husband, parents and mother-in-law were with me throughout it all, but I also have a little stuffed green frog that my husband bought me. Its name is ‘Irma’ and whenever the contractions got really bad, I’d give Irma a really hard squeeze! It’s silly but it definitely helped.
While some women find that they only truly appreciate the wonder of being pregnant with subsequent pregnancies, Jodie isn’t one of them. The best piece of advice she received was to "enjoy being pregnant;" It is advice the 26-year-old actress said she took to heart.
You really get spoiled with attention and once the baby arrives, all of that really changes, in a good way of course! It’s a really amazing time in your life and to enjoy all the changes you go through and remember what a miracle it is. I was really lucky with the bad advice, because I didn’t get any!

For now Zoie is happiest while resting on dad Cody Herpin’s chest, prompting Jodie to proclaim that her daughter is "definitely a daddy’s girl." Being a mom makes her "more appreciative of the little things," Jodie said, like "a little smile, a little hand, a little nose!" As for other new moms and moms-to-be, Jodie offered words of encouragement.
Just do your best with your baby, nobody’s perfect! As long as you give them lots of love and cuddles, you’re doing a great job!
Zoie is the first child for the couple, who married last year.
