Anne Heche, Coley Laffoon agree to child support terms

06/09/2008 at 08:00 AM ET

Anneandhomer Less than one month after she sought a reduction in child support payments, actress Anne Heche appears to have gotten her wish.  People reports that Anne and her ex-husband Coley Laffoon reached a divorce settlement Friday afternoon that calls for the 39-year-old actress to pay $3,700 per month in child support for their 6-year-old son Homer.  Anne had initially been paying $15,000 per month in child support; Coley has had primary physical custody of their son since the couple separated early last year.

The settlement agreement also calls on Anne to make a one-time, lump-sum payment to Coley in the amount of $275,000. She will additionally be responsible for 75-percent of Homer’s private school tuition, and the couple will split the "agreed upon" costs associated with Homer’s extracurricular activities, 50-50.

Wow! He has custody? usually the mom gets custody so this surprises me a little, but I am so happy they reach a settlement for their child well being…

I’m glad to hear the payments got reduced. No one needs $15,000 dollars a month to raise a child. Get real!! And with the issues she’s been having with mental health and getting work, that seems extra exorbitant and unrealistic to what she can probably actually provide in child support.

Bren,

It doesn’t surpise me. 1. Given her mental illness issues in the past and 2. Since he’s a little boy it makes more sense of Coley to get custody(atleast it does to me)then Anne because they are the same gender.

Alisa on

Gender of a child should not have anything to do w/ who gets custody. If homer was a girl & it was in the childs best interest to be with the dad than Laffoon should still have custody.

I can hardly be away from my baby 8 hours a day, let alone leave her with anyone (including her father and i love him to bits!)lol. But, only they know what’s best for them. Best of luck to them!

Erica…the custody thing isn’t by choice. It’s a court decision. She essentially lost full custody to Coley, I think.

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
