SOOOOO nice to finally have someone concentrate on all the wonderful celeb parents who AREN’T total train wreaks! I personally believe it’s great for people to see all the positive role models who don’t mess up their kids.

Take note Brit, Courtney etc. Raising kids in Hollywood doesn’t have to be a nightmare, but if you’re finding it a challenge, please, PLEASE pull a Demi-Bruce and raise your kids somewhere far, far from L.A!!!

That’s true, sunnykidstyle. The recommended weight gain for the average woman is 25-35 pounds. And It is recommended that underweight women gain more and overweight women gain less.

Maybe it’s just me but I have a problem with the goblet raised to Halle Berry and Salma Hayek for gaining the “requisite 30-plus pounds” during their pregnancies. These women were not sticks before they got pregnant; they were amazingly beautiful women with equally beautiful curves. Unless a woman has an eating disorder while pregnant or some other circumstance, it would be very difficult for her to decide if her pregnant body should resemble a snake that swallowed a basketball or a curvaceous woman. This is a matter of genetics and eating habits, not generally of choice.

I totally agree with the nominatin of Nicole Richie! When hearing about her pregnancy, I thought desaster was looming, and there’d be another Britney situation at hand really quickly. But I cannot believe how much she has grown up and how grounded, caring and responsible parents she and Joel have become. And in almost every picure of Harlow and her parents, she makes some great eye contact with them, so that proves there is some genuine connection between them.

One question though, haven’t had any children of my own, so maybe if someone could enlighten me about the weight gain during pregnancy: I thought I had read somewhere, that recommended weight gain is between 20 and 30 pounds, depending on whether you were over- or underweight before pregnancy. So a thin mom should gain more than one that’s already too big. But that the weight gain should not be more than that, otherwise it may be unhealthy for mother and child. Or did I get anything wrong there?

All of these mommies should be congratulated – well deserved. I love the categories.
