Desperate Housewives’ Teri Hatcher, 43, picked up daughter Emerson Rose, 10 ½, from her school in Los Angeles, CA on Thursday, May 29th. Dad is Jon Tenney.

It almosts looks like they’re using her suitcase as a backpack for the end-of-the-year stuff. Smart thinking, Teri! It’s better than a paper bag!! I assume Emerson is in 4th grade now? There’s going to be a lot of stuff to bring home now that school is ending.

I was going to ask if that that was her book bag for school but then I just realized that it’s the end of the year. That’s smart thinking! I always had a packed locker at the end of the year too.

At first I thought to myself, “holy crap, what has the education system gotten to that students are hauling home books in a suitcase?” Then I looked at the calendar, and yes, it is the end of May. School is out for the year so that’s probably why they have a suitcase. If it is not the end of the school year, then good grief, I can’t believe all that could be homework and other stuff! Heck when I was in elementary school all I had was a canvas tote bag and sometimes it was empty because we did all our lessons in class.

Am I the only one who looked at this photo and thought ‘wow, how tall is Emerson?!’. Either Teri is really short, or her beautiful daughter is an incredibly tall 10-year-old! They’re such a gorgeous mum and daughter and always look so happy spending time together.

Emerson is just gorgeous, and man, is she tall. Teri is average height — she’s 5-foot-6 — and I bet Em ends up being even taller. I love that Teri is such an involved mom, too.

Both look great..Emerson is built just like her mom!

My kid’s going to look like that at 10, too. She’ll be 6 in early June, and her head is at my breast height…I’m 5’4″…She’ll tower over me!
