Angelina Jolie did not give birth over the weekend

Angelinajoliebradpitt168214_cbb_2

Despite a rumor started by a fly-by-night blog (that I won’t dignify by naming or linking), Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt did not welcome their twins on Monday (Memorial Day in the US). According to this bogus rumor, the twins, who they allegedly named Isla Marcheline Jolie-Pitt and Amelie Jane Jolie-Pitt, were born 3 months early via c-section somewhere on the French Riviera. The writer claimed to be best friends with one of the family nannies.

Even though it’s not true, I do love those names!

- The Nanny on

Hahaha!
The names, Isla and Amelie, are cute though!

- ana on

Agree! Agree! Even though not true- Ange should look this up for name(s) inspiration!

I also really like Isla and Amelie.

- Cilla on

i also like the names. the middle names are Brad and Angelina’s mom’s names. how nice!
and is it wrong of me to want to know what blog it was? lol

- Natasha on

I didn’t this rumor.

- (LOVE- J ) on

Natasha–I was curious too. I won’t post the link here since Danielle didn’t want it posted, but if you google Angelina’s name and the babies’ names, you’ll find it.

- The Nanny on

I didn’t believe this rumor.

- (LOVE- J ) on

LOVE the names! But how exactly Amelie pronounced?

- Alexis on

Alexis–”AH-mell-ee”

- The Nanny on

Believe this rumor or not?

I live in France, I’m french and we can hear (or listen sorry for my english) a lot a news about Brad and Angelina!

For you Americans, Amelie pronounciation is:

A – May (or mé) – Lee

and

Isla Mar – Sheu – Lee – Neu

Have fun!

- Alice on

There are always rumors about this family. What I find disappointing is how so called legit news organizations spread these lies without even checking to see if they are factual.

Like them purchasing a 70 million dollar house in France, when they are only leasing it.

- loris on

Alice, I thought Marcheline was pronounced like MAR-SHU-(short u as in cut)-LEEN. Am I incorrect in my French pronunciation? They are all beautiful names, even if they choose different ones in the end.

- Sarah on

Beautiful names. They really should take them into consideration! I wonder what a boy will be named if there is one?

- Lauren on

Alice, I thought Marcheline was pronounced like MAR-SHU-(short u as in cut)-LEEN

————–

You are correct, that is how Angie’s mom pronounced her name. Actually, Marcheline was born Marcia Lynne(in Chicago) and later changed her name to Marcheline.

According to Angelina, Bertrand was often wrongly identified as a French actress: “My mom is as far from French Parisian as you can get. She grew up in a bowling alley that my grandparents owned.”

Marcheline was of French Canadian descent on her father’s side.

- loris on

Isn’t she only about 28 wks? Why would anyone wish that she would deliver that early? Its just sick. I hope she delivers at 36 wks at least.

The names are pretty, yes, but its just asinine to make something like this up.

- Melanie on

As the mom of an almost four year old Amélie, I do have to say I love the names ;-)

- Jessica on

28 weekers can survive now-a-days… my first son was born at 29-weeks, six years ago and though it was not “easy”, he is a very healthy, energetic boy! :)

Anyway, twins are known for early deliveries aren’t they?

- Madeleine on

I agree to loving the names :) Especially the middle name tributes :) someone was thinking :) On a side note, what happened to the post about Zahara yesterday?

- brannon on

Those are great names and blend the family names so beautifully.

- carla at somethingaboutbaby.com on

I did not even hear this rumor. Why did you guys even post it knowing more than likely it was false?
I’m not sure but wouldn’t twins born 3 months early have a low chance of survival?

- LolaCola on

I LOVE those names! Very cute and beautiful. I can’t wait for her to REALLY deliver.

- Stephany on

Maybe whoever started the rumor did so so that the twins would be born on Shiloh’s birthday conveniently.

- Marilyn on

I have to say that I don’t believe this rumor, but I also think it is funny that all other news venues, except CBB, were posting that they were expecting twins long before CBB finally posted it (calling it “surprisiing news” which it clearly wasn’t at that point). I wonder why CBB is so cautious about posting rumors, even if you clearly list them as rumors? I love the site, obviously or I wouldn’t be here—- but I am curious about your policies and how you verify your information.

- danielle on

yup, it’s started. a tabloid here in Australia has the excited cover this week ‘FOUR WEEKS TO GO’. do we even know a more accurate due date or indeed if they are girls?

- ang on

Oh no I hope that she doesn’t name her daughter Isla! I have had that name picked out for my future daughter for years! It’s a beautiful name of course…that would just be too funny if she named her daughter that since I am a huge Angie fan and then everyone would think I was copying he, haha.

- Leeya on

*laughs* That is hilarious!

- babyboopie on

I agree about the names! Fake story but GREAT names! Can’t wait to see what they really come up with!

- Mimi on

I love names, and think Brad and Angie should consider these names for the babies when They ARE born.

LORIS
I agree!

Am constantly disappointed by the legit media. They hardly covered any of the recent possitive things about this family, but they hurry up to be wrong about something so trivial. $70m for a house?? Brad and Angie are not irresponsible people.

- taegan on

Thanks CBB for calling this rumour out for what it is!

- taegan on

Those are beautiful names, although I doubt Angie would go into labor this early (on Shiloh’s birthday no less!)

- Kaley on

If nothing else, the names completely gave this story away as false.

All the Jolie-Pitt children have middle names that can stand as surnames should any of them wish to drop Jolie-Pitt as their last name.

Chivan, Thien, Marley and Nouvel. Marcheline and Jane (as sweet as the idea may be) doesn’t exactly fit, does it?

- Amanda on

I also like the names, but I think it is too usual for them. I like the unusual names and can’t wait to hear what they really come up with.

Plus for you all who say it was on Shiloh’s birthday, that is a little mistake, it was on the day beore the day of Shiloh’s birthday.

- Steph on

Shame! :) The fake names are lovely. Not such a fan of Isla but I love both Amelie and Jane.

Although did someone totally just pick Jane because of the Jane Smith character?

- Laura on

I hope this rumor is 100% false because I like waiting until the birth to find out the names. I know they will be creative…!

- Colby on

Well I’m not trying to be rude but I don’t like them names at all. I’m glad this is a rumor tho ….. she needs to keep them little ones in the oven as long as she can so they can get strong and healthy :) .
There is always rumors about Brad and Angie. I can’t wait until she does have these precious little babies but I would rather wait a couple of more months then these babies be born this early.

- Bancie1031 on

My comment was nice! I always feel like ive done something wrong when my comments aren’t posted :( all I said was I liked the names even if they are fake?

- brannon on

Brad’s mother’s name is Jane, the middle names supposedly name for the grandmothers.

- theo on

I’m glad this rumour isn’t true for the obvious reason you don’t want babies born this early (even though they can survive); and, for my own selfish reasons I HOPE they don’t choose Isla as one of the names – it seems every time I have a new favourite name a celebrity goes ahead and uses it…you know what happens! Amelie (with an accent on the first ‘e’) is a beautiful name. That’s interesting about Angelina’s mother – I did assume she was French (from France). Let’s hope those babies stay in there a little longer.

- Charlene on

*sigh*

I don’t know which is worse — the tabloids who print this garbage or the idiots who believe it.

Let’s run through the drill again, people:

Angelina confirmed she is having twins.

Angelina refused to say if she is having two boys, two girls, or one of each. She said she and Brad want to keep that quiet until the babies are born.

She did not say when the babies are due, but I’m betting early to mid-July.

- Judy on

Amelie isnt too bad, but im not sure of the name isla, sounds to harsh but whatever names she comes up with are fine, and the babies will be good looking no matter what name she give them.

- lily on

Love those names, but i agree that, while they are on the more unique side, they are a bit ‘ordinary’ for Brad & Ange.

I plan on giving my daughter the name Isla but spelt Eila (after my grandmother Eileen)& I was considering Jolie as a middle name, so Eila Jolie.
So I certainly hope on of Angelina’s babies is not an Isla Jolie-Pitt, or everyone think I have copied! :)

- Nelle on

I didn’t believe the rumor from the beginning. I do think she will give birth before august though, but not this week or anything like that. I think in july she will have the twins. That’s good she is on speaking terms with her dad again, he looked sad on interviews when people would mention her, and he is her only living parent alive, so that’s nice if they are trying to work on their relationship.

- brooke on

Ok, so maybe it is a rumor. But she is NOT 28 weeks pregnant. She looks to be VERY close to her due date, which made it possible for this story to be true in my mind. I carried my twins to just over 37 weeks, and judging from the size I was and the size of other women pregnant with twins that I saw in my job, she looks to be in the home stretch. No way she’s 28 weeks.

- Julie on

I love the fake names, I’ld love it if she named her girl Amélie, but I think the name is a little too common for them, it’ll probably be something more unusual

- Amélie on
