When it comes to motherhood, "all the cliches are true,"actress Christie Clark Barnes recently told Mom To Be Depot. Since welcoming daughter Hannah Bella in early March, life has become "richer and more precious," and Christie — who once starred on Days of Our Lives — said that she’s hoping the good vibes will rub off on her career.
Because life becomes richer, hopefully so will your work. I believe my work will only improve and have more meaning. I’m excited about acting again, I dream of it all the time.
A cruise to Alaska left Christie with an aversion to salmon that lasted the duration of the pregnancy, and she experienced morning sickness during her first trimester. Still, the last months of the pregnancy "were joyous," Christie said — as well as eye-opening.
There were many surprises along the way. I just can’t believe how quiet women are about what happens to your bodies during this time. It’s like a secret club, that no one talks about until you are preggo. Your vision becomes blurred, you have food aversion, you’re short of breath (this doesn’t happen to everyone), but you have this wonderful thing happening inside of you that makes it all worth while.

Christie, 34, said she stayed in shape during her pregnancy with yoga and a weekly tennis lesson; Besides husband Thomas Barnes, her most cherished delivery companion was a soft pillow. For other recent first-time moms, she offers words of encouragement.
It gets easier and you forget about how tired you once were. Sleep when your baby sleeps and accept help when it’s offered.
Hannah is the first child for Christie and Thomas, who were married in 2002.
