Michael Klim welcomes second child, son Agung Rocco

Australian swimmer and Olympics competitor Michael Klim, 30, and his wife, Balinese Princess Lindy Klim, welcomed their second child last week. Son Agung Rocco, who will be known by his middle name, arrived on Saturday, May 10th, and weighed in at 7 lbs 2 oz (3.25kg). Speaking of her joy, Lindy revealed,

He’s very cute, and has heaps of black hair.

The name Agung is popular in Bali, and is thought to indicate that he is of Balinese royalty. Rocco joins big sister Stella, 2.

Agung is standard Indonesian for mountain. The most popular names in Bali are Wayan, Made, Nyoman and Ketut respectively, indicating birth order and are used for both genders.

To correct my previous post, Agung doesn’t mean mountain, Gunung is. Agung means high or highest. There’s a Gunung Agung on Bali hence my confusion. Sorry!

What I will never understand is when people name a child and then say “we’re going to refer to him/her by the middle name.” Why not just make the middle name the first name?
