Alison Sweeney blogs about trip to the Farmer's Market with Ben
After years of struggling with her weight, actress and television host Alison Sweeney, 31, is making sure that son Benjamin Edward, 3, knows the importance of a healthy lifestyle. That is one of the reasons why she takes him to the Farmer’s Market.
Ben and I woke up early, played, ate a lazy Sunday breakfast, and thenwandered down the Farmer’s Market near our house. It’s such a fun placefor kids — they have a ’roundy round‘ as Ben calls it, which isessentially a swing ride that spins the kids around in a circle. Andthe all-important Bouncy House. He loves to bounce, and it’s a goodthing they have a time-limit because he could go all day.
We go up anddown the different farmers tents, buying fresh/organic veggies … I feellike a wanna-be Top Chef while I’m there. Shopping for stuff to makefor dinner that night with no real plan, except throwing thingstogether that sound good … maybe. I bought yams, Butternut Squash (tocover the ever important *read with sarcasm* carb food group), andliterally a pound of Sugar Snap Peas. My favorite snack, and luckilyBen loves ‘em too.
