Reese Witherspoon talks about how fame affects her children

Reesewith_kevin_15780185_max_cbbEven though Reese Witherspoon, 32, agrees that being famous affects her children Ava Elizabeth, 8 ½, and Deacon Reese, 4 ½, greatly, she sees it as having both negative and positive sides.

[They have] always kind of known me to be who I was, and if people know Mom at the grocery store, I think they kind of like it. Obviously, if you’re not having the greatest day, it’s not always easy, but for the most part, [fame] brings a lot of positive things into our life.

One of these is her role as a global ambassador for Avon Cosmetics, being a honorary chairwoman of the Avon Foundation, which focuses on breast cancer, domestic violence and emergency relief. A lot of that has also been given on to Ava.

She has a very giving spirit, so it’s great to encourage that. There’s a great responsibility to educate your children and show them what’s important in life, which includes giving back.

Ava and Deacon’s father is actor Ryan Phillippe, 33.

Hey CBB, Ava is 8 not 9. She won’t be nine until September 9th. Just a clarification.

Reese seems so down to earth, and seems like a sweet person.

I think her kids will grow up well grounded.

You go Reese! Thanks :) from a 2x breast cancer survivor:)

Stephanie … I’m so glad to read that you are okay! As an Avon Rep. myself, we are really proud to have Reese on our team. She is a great role model – especially for young women.
