Mutsy Easygrow High Chair: Sit up and take notice!

05/02/2008 at 07:00 AM ET

Zm17972 Baby Allegra’s still too young to eat, but she’s joined our family during mealtimes by sitting in the Mutsy Easygrow High Chair ($199). I was excited to test this sleek looking high chair because it’s adjustable as she grows — both the seat and the footrest can be easily moved down.

Since Allegra is now 4 months old, with good head and neck control, I used the seat reducer insert to support her (which resembles the Mutsy Grow-up Booster Seat, click here to read that review). With that, she is easily able to sit up in the Easygrow High Chair and bat at her toys (which I placed on the tray). Her big brother is thrilled — now he can "chat" with her as he eats. Well, he talks, she coos…

Zm17972_zm1Zm17972_zm3Zm17972_zm2Allegra will use the tray when she starts eating cereal in two months. As she gets older, we’ll lower the seat little by little and eventually replace the tray with the bumper bar, so she can eat at the table. There are 8 positions, from tiny baby to older child. It will eventually turn into a chair and will hold up to 100 llbs.

I found it really simple to put together. Everything just clicked together really easily and I was able to do it very quickly. The tray fit in my dishwasher, but since the leg rest separator was attached to the bottom of the tray, it took up a little too much room.  So, I plan to just rise it off in our sink.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
