Jessica Alba donates baby items to pregnant high school students

Jessica Alba made a trip to the Nellie M. Blanding branch of Thomas Riley High School, which is designed specifically for pregnant teen students, in Los Angeles, CA on Friday. There, the 27-year-old actress donated a number of baby goods to the girls and met with them in class. Jessica expects her first child, said to be a girl, later this month.

Hee, I hit refresh to make sure I wouldn’t be the 50th person sending you the link to this story. I think it’s so great she’s doing this, hopefully it will bring in even more donations and help for the school and its students.

ok maybe i am too cynical but that seems a little too convienent – cameras and publicity…. i dunno i think it means more when no one is watching you give….

This is really sweet of her to do.She looks very cute and I love that she looks happy. Her bump has also grown kinda rapidly, very cute can’t wait to see her baby.

- NELLA on

Maybe so, ekaterina , but she’s always being watched. It would have been made public eventually.
Her belly is so cute!

- Moore on

I’m not her biggest fan, but that was nice of her to do, and she looks cute pregnant.

i adore that dress….she looks great! i am kind of if-y about those tops these girls (jessica, tori, etc…) have been wearing over these gorgeous dresses though.

That’s generous of her. Gracias, Jessica.

As a role model, and a very pretty one at that, its nice for her to share her treasures with those less fortunate. While parents and extended family should be the primary role models for their kids, as a second line of defense, its a good thing for people like Alba, to show some virtue.

Ekaterina, maybe we as the public are too tough on celebrities when they do charity work. Now they are followed 24/7 especially the young ones in Hollywood like Jessica. As long as they are actually helping people, I don’t see it being negative. By the way, I love your name and you did make an interesting point. Anyhow, Jessica looks great as usually. She has been smiling more lately which is always good to see

Publicity or not…she just did a very very good thing. Good for you Jess! And I LOVE her dress! Anyone know where it’s from?

Regardless of any underlying motives, hidden agenda or whatever else cynics (or realists) want to throw out there, it was a wonderful blessing for those girls and their babies.

- jenna on

I think that was really quite a nice gesture of hers. I hope she was able to help some of those girls.

i think it’s a bad idea that a highly publicized celebrity is donating things to high school pregnant girls. it sounds as if she’s encouraging it. on another note, that girl needs to learn how to smile. poor baby….

She looks gorgeous. What a nice thing for her to do! I wish we saw more of this in Hollywood.

As for the comments about the paparazzi – it looks to me like these pictures were taken as she was exiting the building. No big photo shoot or anything. I agree with those who said she’s probably followed almost everywhere. Those reporters have to make their living :(

As for Jessica, she looks stunning and that’s great that she’s out there talking with teen moms. Anybody who is willing to be there with them, giving them support, and encouragement, and the things they probably can’t afford for their babies, is doing a good thing.

I was a very poor teen mom and I know I wished for good support first of all (I didn’t get it) and I wished more than anything that I could buy the things I wanted to for my baby. It hurt sometimes to walk through the baby aisles and see all the things I couldn’t give my child. In the end she wanted me most of all, and my arms and my milk were great for her – but all the baby ads sure made me feel like I wasn’t a good enough parent. I’m glad Jessica is sharing with these girls.
