Carolina Herrera Jr says they want a delivery surprise

Carolina Herrera Jr, who is two months along with her and husband Miguel Baez‘s third child, says that they will not be finding out the sex of the baby prior to the delivery. 

We don’t want to know the sex of the baby.  We want a surprise.

Carolina, daughter of the Venezuelan fashion designer Carolina Herrera, 69, and Miguel were married in 2004 and have two children together, daughter Olimpia de la Concepcion, 3, and son Miguel, 2.

Brannon, I think you misread what it says….Carolina Herrera and her MOTHER have the same name, and her MOTHER is 69, not her LOL!

The tradition of giving a daughter the mother’s name has faded dramatically since Victorian times. I wonder why that is so rare these days but there are still many junior boys. You’d think both versions of the tradition would fade or stay popular at the same rate.

I’ve heard of girls being named after their mothers,but never knew they’d be considered Jr. like boys are. anyone know how to pronounce her daughter’s name?

Yup, it’s necessary to differentiate them, just like with the father-son pairs.

Do you mean Concepcion? Both of the people I’ve known with that name have pronounced it kon-sep-see-OWN, with very little emphasis on the first syllable and the third syllable extended a bit.
