We’d like to introduce you to a marvelous, new stroller from Silver Cross. The Silver Cross Dazzle ($299) is an amazing lightweight stroller that offers style and luxury in one simple frame. Silver Cross has long been known for their fabulous, luxury infant prams, the Kensington ($1800) and the Balmoral ($2500), yes you read right, these prams cost upwards of $1700! With a price tag like that, you can only imagine the Hollywood elite who have pushed them. Celebrity fans of the Silver Cross line, including the Freeway and Micro, are Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, Charlotte Church, Jennie Garth, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard, Denise Richards, Brooke Burke, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, and Brooke Shields.

The Seat
The seat for the Silver Cross Dazzle is a lot like most lightweight strollers. It sits low to the ground and is essentially like one piece of fabric fitted to the frame. When the seat is reclined, just the back drops down, and this is done with a one handed motion. What I liked best about the seat was the gorgeous sleek design of the squares on the fabric.
The 5-point harness is super easy to use, you connect the waist and shoulder straps and click them into a round disc at the middle to secure. I will admit that the shoulder straps sometimes slid off as I tried to fasten the harness, but it wasn’t a HUGE deal and I learned to watch out for it. Releasing the harness is as simple as pushing a button, the button on the front of the round disc to be exact. I also love the color of the 5-point harness that accented the silver frame.
The fabric used to create the seat was plenty soft and comfortable and my child seemed perfectly happy to ride around in it. Because the seat can recline the Dazzle is perfectly acceptable for use from birth. The seat also has a hood canopy with twin air vents and a viewing window to keep an eye on your child.
The Frame
The Dazzle frame is made from a high grade brushed aluminum that adds a nice detail to a perfectly simple stroller. The frame folds down so that it’s really compact and easy to throw in your car or store it in the house. Best of all this stroller only weighs a little over 15 pounds so schlepping it around is a very easy task.
The fold for this stroller is very similar to the Maclaren fold, you simply push up on the lever in the back, middle of the shopping basket and then push down on the little tab that sticks out to the right. Push the frame into itself until it locks. It fits perfectly in the trunk and leaves plenty of room for other things.
The handlebars are very interesting and have received mixed reviews from people I know who have this stroller. I, personally, like them! Silver Cross calls them "ergonomic comfort grip handles" and I agree. You can grab the tops or sides of them easily and steer with no problems. I should also mention that I’m 5’7" and the height was perfect for me. Danielle, CBB Publisher, however is a bit shorter than me and really doesn’t like the handles. She feels like they’re at an uncomfortable angle for her height.
The shopping basket is decently sized. While it’s not going to fit a trip to the grocers, it will fit shopping bags easily. It’s also concealed by the seat so you can tuck things into it and keep them hidden.
The Ride
The Dazzle features a 4-wheeled suspension for an ultra-smooth ride. The 6" wheels are just the right size and help the stroller to coast along whether you’re inside or out. The front swivel wheels are lockable and self centering. And all the wheels are cased in in silver plastic, and this little detail really adds to the style of this stroller.
My daughter was perfectly content riding in this stroller. She also seemed to like its size a lot — As the low seat made it easy to climb in and out of and the frame was so easy her to push along when she wanted to "help" mom.
Final Thoughts
I’m really impressed with this stroller. It’s definitely one of my favorites and it took up permanent residence in my trunk as our on-the-go choice. I love the magenta color (named "Grape") and the Silver Cross logo detailing on the frame and seat.
The stroller gets plenty of compliments and attracts eyes most everywhere I go. And above all that it pushes very easily and responds to turns very easily.
Pros
Four wheeled suspension for a smooth ride
Easy, one-handed fold
Lightweight and easy to tote around
Cons
Awkward angle of handlebar might be hard for some to use
No cup holder
Hood doesn’t provide ample sun coverage
Tip Test (Empty stroller with weighted diaper bag hanging fromhandlebar)
5lbs: No change — it didn’t tip any easier backwards
10lbs: Stroller tipped much easier
