Ugly Betty's Eric Mabius and wife expecting second child

Actor Eric Mabius received a special gift while on the set of Ugly Betty last week — his wife, interior designer Ivy Sherman, announced to him that she is pregnant with their second child.

The 37-year-old admitted that he and his wife have been trying for a few months and the writer’s strike provided the perfect opportunity.  When it didn’t happen before the strike ended, Eric admits that Ivy was "very frustrated" as she assumed they would have to wait until the summer due to Eric’s working schedule. Happily, the actor reports with a smile,

I proved her wrong.

The new baby, whose sex is not known, will join big brother Maxfield Elliot, 22 months.

Ha, well, seems that strike brought a little good to his life in more ways than one. I wish them luck with this new one coming along.

That part about him “proving her wrong” was hilarious! At least now Ivy won’t be waiting til the summer to try. They already achieved their little goal…
