Connor Cruise to portray a young Will Smith in Seven Pounds

Having actor Tom Cruise, 45, and actress Nicole Kidman, 40, for parents, didn’t stop their son, Connor, 13, from having to audition for his very first movie role alongside actor Will Smith, 39.  People has reported that after trying out for the role, Connor landed the very minor spot of a young version of Will in the upcoming movie, Seven Pounds.  And Tom?  Well, he couldn’t be happier or more proud of his son, according to a source.

Tom is so proud of Connor.  He’s proud of him for really doing this on his own.

Seven Pounds will be out in December 2008.

I remember Nicole saying that Connor wanted to get into show biz, and I bet seeing the the Smith kids act made him even more eager to do it. Congrats to him for getting his first role!

I know people say it all the time, but it really is uncanny how much Connor resembles Tom. If I wasn’t told it I would think they were biologically related.

I think he probably auditioned but of course Tom had something to do with it. I can’t wait to see his acting debut. He seems like such a nice kid.

The ressemblance between Conner and Tom Cruise is astounding. I don’t think that someone can randomly find a child that has the same eyes, same smile, and same expression as the adoptive parents! This kid is Tom Cruise’s.
