Prince Philippe of Belgium, 48, and wife Princess Mathilde have introduced their two-day old daughter, Princess Eléonore Fabiola Victoria Anne Marie, in a photoshoot with their older children Princess Elisabeth, 6, Prince Gabriel, 4 ½, and Prince Emmanuel, 2 ½.

Wow! I could barely brush my teeth two days after giving birth much less get made up and pose for a picture. I guess when you’re a princess you have to pull yourself together quickly. Then again, when you’re a princess I’m sure you have help getting yourself and your kids ready for a photo shoot. They are a beautiful family though!

The one where Princess Elisabeth is holding her sister is priceless; the baby is actually smiling! I’m sure people will say it’s not a “real” smile at only two days out, but it still makes for a darling shot.
And yeah, I’m amazed too that they could do this at two days out. Hopefully the photographer was quick! If this were me, I’d have milk leakage and baby spit up and worse all over me, and my expression would not have been nearly so tranquil as Princess Mathilde. Well, I guess as royals, they’re used to having to “rise to the occasion.”

This photoshot was actually done yesterday already, 36 hours after giving birth. And no matter how much help Mathilde got – it´s amazing how good she looks, considering what is behind her: her own father was in coma these last three weeks and is still critically ill. Somehow she seems to be born for motherhood. And these kids all look so incredibly contented and comfortable with each other and their parents. Simply adorable.
