British Royal family prepares for christening

WessexThe British Royal family will gather together at Windsor Castle’s private chapel over the weekend for the baptism of Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex’s, youngest child, James Alexander Philip Theo Mountbatten-Windsor.

However, the traditional ceremony will have a new element added to it on Sunday because the 4-month-old will be wearing a brand new replica christening gown for the service. The original white satin, Hointon lace-decorated gown worn by the Queen, her children and previous grandchildren will now be preserved for posterity. It was made in 1841 for the christening of Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter, Princess Victoria.

Edward and Sophie also have daughter Lady Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary, 4, who is pictured at the left when she was a baby.

isn’t that picture of Loise as a baby?

Does anyone know if James will have a title? I remember reading that Edward’s kids wouldn’t receive Prince(ss) titles. I just think it odd that Louise would be “Lady” and James not receive one.

Cute child, though it looks like he might have a lazy eye?

Roise, I think James might be a Viscount? I’m not certain, but I think he is.

In fact, James will be Viscount Severn.

That isn’t James, it is Louise at her christening. She did indeed have a problem with one of her eyes, and had it corrected by surgery as a baby.

Karen, the picture is of Louise, not James. Louise was born with the eye disorder exotropia, and she had surgery to correct it. We haven’t seen any pictures of James since December, when he was born.

He will be know as James Windsor, Viscount Severn. (Legally, he is His Royal Highness Prince James of Wessex.)

I adore the Royal family. I don’t recall seeing any pictures of Lady Louise lately. I found one though on Telegraph UK: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/graphics/2007/07/03/nroyal103.jpg
She looks like any other girl… :)
