maternity pay? is that basically a paid maternity leave?

I think a lot of entertainers and TV presenters are freelance these days?

I suspect that comment has been made because she’s JUST started on Channel 5 and people are probably whispering about her getting pregnant so soon after getting a new ‘job’!

She’ll still qualify for Statutory Maternity Pay anyway, if not from her own personal company then about £110 Maternity Allowance per week, but I think she can probably manage without it… ;)

MB: Yes, most women get Maternity Pay of some kind in the UK, which is paid leave. It can vary from 26 weeks at £110 per week to a full year’s salary.

ruthella – as of last April you get 39 weeks instead of 26 at £112.25! The extra 13 weeks were fab :D
Im back at work as of last week though :(

Thanks Nicola, my third (and last!) baby was born last January so must have just missed the increase!

Never mind, the 26 weeks was way better than the 18 I got with my first baby anyway! And nothing with my second, but hey-ho.

Good luck with being back at work :)
