gabriella- It could very well be that they’ve tried to find out, but the baby hasn’t been very cooperative!

I think Tori already knows the sex, but since she has been promoting her new book doesn’t wanna be pushed into saying it on interviews, so for now is saying they don’t know. I know 3 people, one is a client of mine that rents a house I own, another a cousin, and another a lady I know in the gym and their all due in june, and they all know the sex by now, so I think tori does too. I think it’s another boy. I just got her book too, so can’t wait to start reading it this weekend.

I actually like the gender neutral nurseries. The clothing isn’t bad either. Whenever you find out the gender it’s a wonderful surprise, but delivery surprises are especially wonderful.

I am wondering how she stayed so thin this pregnancy? With my son I got so fat and I am scared to be pregnant again because it took such a toll on my body being so fat… Just wondering if anyone has heard if she is still eating Nutrisystem or working out or what. I have heard that Nutrisystem is not even edible? Any thoughts on that too?

By the way, why do CBB’s articles always say “sex” instead of “gender?” The latter is correct.

Sarah’s note: We had been corrected previously about using gender because gender = masculine and feminine while sex = biological male and female. Via Google, sex refers to biological differences; chromosomes, hormonal profiles, internal and external sex organs. Gender describes the characteristics that a society or culture delineates as masculine or feminine.

So while your sex as male or female is a biological fact that is the same in any culture, what that sex means in terms of your gender role as a ‘man’ or a ‘woman’ in society can be quite different cross culturally.

So sex is actually more correct and that’s what we use.

We wanted to find out the gender for #2, but its legs were crossed and would NOT extend them. I got up, walked around the room and everything. It took a while, and we did finally get the “sneak peak”. We wanted to know b/c there really is very little gender neutral type clothing out there. Not just colors, but embroidery too. We already had a boy and the second child deserved to come home in something new, and if it was a girl, she would be wearing trucks and puppies until we managed to get out.

I would caution Moms to be to not get all 6 months and up. I was 10 days past my due date and still my son was a “preemie” size. We had *nothing* for him to wear because everyone! told us to get size 6 month and up. I get families that one outfit that may be too small at the get go, but at least if the baby needs it–there is something to wear to the hospital

I think yellow can be a beautiful nursery colour (has anyone seen Juno – how funny is the bit where she’s picking the nursery colour?!)
I plan to have delivery surprises and paint the nursery yellow and decorate when I’m in nesting mode. Yellow with a jungle animal theme probably…
And then when we have our next child we plan to move them into a new room which we will decorate for them and the new baby can have the same nursery, like Melissa Joan Hart has done (and other ppl I know)
But I hope I don’t get alot of white stuff as I feel it gets dirty really quickly, that’s why I don’t wear white…
And I was brought up to believe green is unlucky so don’t like it and neither does my partner so we’ll kindly ask for no green things…

Also I think Tori deserves as many gifts as those close to her wish to give her… Giving a gift is not always about the person needing something, it can be to celebrate the joy of a new baby, a birthday or ’cause you love them. If we all only got what we needed for presents they wouldn’t always be very fun or exciting (e.g. groceries…)

Why is the assumption that you have to go with yellow for a “delivery surprise” baby? Maybe I wouldn’t go PINK with a baby if I didn’t know it was a girl, but there are many, many lovely colors that go either way. Even some shades of blue are absolutely dainty and pretty and could work either way. When I was pregnant with my first, I was sort of convinced it was a girl and I still went with a really sweet blue decorated with nursery rhyme paraphernalia. Then we found out (early) that it was a boy, and I was almost peeved–assuming that people would think we’d chosen blue BECAUSE he was a boy!

everyone goes on about how poor she is, then when she gets knocked up, everyone starts saying she is rich again. interesting….
besides, if she had a girl, she wouldn’t HAVE anything specific for her anyway.
