Martin Lawrence doesn't believe he is over-protective of his daughters

In his new movie College Road Trip, actor Martin Lawrence plays an over-protective father, which isn’t too far a stretch for the 42-year-old dad of three.

I’m not as over-protective, but I’m very protective. Those are mine, that’s me, so I’m always concerned and always want the best for them.

Martin’s daughters — Jasmine Page, 12, Iyanna, born in 2001, and Amara,born in 2003 — are not dating yet, but he is already preparing forwhen that will happen.  When asked if planned on taking a baseball batto the potential suitors, Martin replied,

No,no because mentally I can go to here [points to his brain]. Some ofthose young boys, they ain’t ready for this. After I get finished withthem they’ll think my mind is a bat.

One thing the actor is not ready for is when his daughters go away to college.

I don’t think you ever can prepare for it because you’re going to feel what you’re going to feel. It’s not going to be easy, it’s always going to be hard. You just hope that you prepare them the best that you can so that they can do well out there.

I love this Man! I personally can’t wait until he has a lil “Jr.” (if he plans on having more children, of course). I’ve seen Martin mature so much over these 16 years of being a fan of his…I truly admire what he has become since his “Martin” and “Def Jam” days. I believe that he has wisdom that I think many need to hear, including me. When I look and hear Martin speak, I see a man with great integrity, with a deep love for not only his fans, but for what’s more important…love for his God and his family. So for me, it’s impossible not to commend him and look up to him for that. Martin Lawrence is a great example of a Man, and I’m so glad that he is doing well!
