Princess Isabella and Prince Christian to visit their mother's homeland

03/04/2008 at 03:49 PM ET

Princess Isabella Henrietta Ingrid Margrethe, almost 11 months, daughter of Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, 36, and Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, 39, will soon be introduced to her mother’s homeland of Tasmania, Australia for the first time.

The family, which includes the royal couple’s son, Prince Christian Valdemar Henri John, 2, is planning a visit to China for the opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing on August 8. In an effort to support Denmark’s bid to join the Olympic committee in 2009, Frederik will stay throughout the entire Olympic games. Reportedly, Mary will then be traveling with the two children to Tasmania where they will stay until Frederik rejoins his family at the end of August. Mary grew up in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.

This will be the second trip to Tasmania for Christian. Mary and Frederik brought Christian for a visit to meet extended family in November 2006 when he was one year old.

How exciting :) We’ll get to see Christian and Isabella again.

We should be seeing them alot! The whole family usually appears on the balcony of Amalienborg for the Queen’s birthday in mid-April, and hopefully they’ll release photos next month for Lillepigen’s first birthday (but maybe the pictures from the balcony will make up for it) Then we should see the children again for the Grasten photoshoot, and I bet they’ll have a shoot in Australia to satisfy the paps during their visit.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
