Cate Blanchett arrives at Independent Spirit Awards

Actress Cate Blanchett, 38, arrives at the 23rd Annual Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, CA today.  She and husband Andrew Upton expect their third child in April. CBB reader Elizabeth tells us that Cate won, and on accepting the award, she said it was cruel to make a pregnant lady waddle that far to the stage!

I love that she is still adventurous in her fashion choices, and always manages to be so elegant and composed.

I really admire her for keeping her family life private and for being such a positive presence in her field of work.

Um, because it’s private and no one else’s business, maybe? If she doesn’t want to share it, you don’t have any right to demand it.

And how do you know she knows what the sex is? Lots of people don’t want to know, and don’t find out until the birth on purpose. Why would you assume she knows?

I am just assuming that she knows the gender of her baby- Because if the baby is due in April, I am sure she knows! And I hope she has a girl this time And maybe she is having a third child for an attempt to have a girl

It could also be that she doesn’t know because they couldn’t tell for sure. In which case the only thing she could say to someone who asks if it’s going to be a boy or a girl is “yes”.
She’s so beautiful anyway but she looks wonderful pregnant.
