Give me a break. Most parents know an off-color joke when they read one. And most parents while being fascinated with celebrity parents and the products they use have enough sense to know what type a car to buy for a teenage driver. We (parents) can make a sensible decision without the help of a celebrity or a humorless poster. A joke is a joke. If you didn’t like it, fine. But don’t qualify your comment by pretending you’re so worried about impressionable parents. It’s insulting.

I’m not old at all – nor am I a biddy! I am usually the one who thinks that people are overly sensitive when it comes to jumping all over celebrities, but I just didn’t find that comment funny, especially since so many parents seek to emulate celebs in what clothing, toys and cars they buy for their children. In that respect, I don’t think that’s something that should be joked about. That’s the only point I was making – and I hope my comment didn’t offend or discourage any of you who would consider buying a 15 year-old child a hummer!

LOL I thought the comment about the Hummer was funny. And even if he wasn’t playing it wouldn’t make him a bad person. I didn’t see anything in those excerpts that were so offensive. Oh well, whatever. He and his wife seem happy…nice little article to read.

I think any woman who gives up a job with a lucrative salary to be with the man she loves and relocates to his current city is making a sacrifice. I’m sure it’s one she made happily but it is a sacrifice.

And, not everyone woman finds it satisfying to be living off of their husband’s money. Some women like making their own way in this world and are not just out to latch onto a sugar daddy.

She’s a business woman who knows how fast they forget you when you’ve been away from your industry for a long period of time to raise a family. If she does decide to go back to work, it will almost be like starting from scratch.

I don’t think Dennis was asking anyone to feel sorry for his wife. He was clearly showing his appreciation for her. He probably dated a lot of women before her who were wannabe playboy bunnies who had their hand out.

I actually have more respect for women who go into a marriage with a successful man who in fact have their own goals, successes, dreams, and income.

I think it is so strange that anything a celebrity says, even when it’s obvious they are joking, and everybody GETS the joke as they are saying it, is taken out of context by the gossipy old ladies over the back fence on websites. The comments Dennis Quaid made about his son and the hummer were jokes merely expressing any concerned dad’s worry when your kid’s start driving. You don’t actually mean them.

Later on he stated that he was looking for a tank for Jack to drive. Again, illustrating any parent’s worry about the safety of his child doing something inherently dangerous. Did he really mean a tank? Are we supposed to think he meant it? He immediately amended the joke by saying that he’s not really worried because “Jack has a good head on his shoulders”.

Why do so many posters play old-biddy control mavens? Wanting to dissect everything celebs say and do. Not everything has to be deadly serious, gals. For goodness sake! Get a sense of humor. Better still, stop following celebrities if you cannot control them and have no sense of humor. Another arm of the PC police is always raised on websites.

I find it funny that anytime there is something humorous posted here and said by a celebrity there is always a little pack of old bittys ready to bite. Can one person please just have a little opinion without it being so offensive? I live in Berkeley CA and have from birth and I have far fewer nasty remarks than most here…you’d think it would be the other way around!
