DJ Sara Cox takes maternity leave from Radio 1

Radio 1 DJ and TV presenter Sara Cox, 33, started her maternity leave from Radio 1 yesterday and left the building laden with a bottle of champagne and gifts. She also said that she is enjoying motherhood but will definitely return to work.

I think all my priorities have changed. I appreciate calmness and feeling secure, being looked after. I enjoy my role as mum and caretaker of the house. I really relish those roles and I think I’m good at them. [But] I’d go stir crazy if I didn’t work. Work and being a mum go quite nicely hand in hand. Each needs the other to keep me sane.

Sara and boyfriend Ben Cyzer are expecting their first child next month. She already has daughter Lola Anne, 3 ½, with estranged husband DJ Jon Carter.

If she’s not divorced from her husband does the government then presume the husband is the father? Maybe not in the UK but I was watching law and order and this women had a child with her boyfriend but her husband was legally the father as she was not divorced. And I know here in Canada the government will pay for a divorce if your pregnant with someone else is child and want to marry the father.

was listening to radio 1 today and shes given birth to a boy called isaac. I can’t open up an email so i couldnt send the info, but its a boy!!
