Michelle Ray Smith expecting first child

Guiding Light’s Michelle Ray Smith, 33, and her boyfriend Michael Layden are expecting their first child. Michelle is due on July 21st.

This was something that we both really wanted and talked about at great length. So we’re both excited.

I told [GL] as soon as I found out. My contract is up for renegotiation in July. I’m up to consider staying and seeing how things go. I don’t know if they’re writing it in or not.

I did talk to Ellen [Wheeler, Executive Producer], who was so excited that she started to cry. She was so happy for me.

I am a new fan of Michelle Ray Smith and a longtime viewer of GL. I wish her and her new family the best. I absolutely love Ava and Remy together and how much Ava has grown over the past few years with her character development. I am a Bill/Lizzie fan as well as a Ava/Remy fan and am really excited with how the SL’s are going. I wasn’t sure if she was really pregnant until I read this blog. She’s truly a beautiful new mommy.
