Introducing Eli James Senor

Elijamessenor00003_cbb_2CNN anchor Campbell Brown, 39, and her husband Dan Senor, 36, welcomed their son Eli James in December, a week before his Christmas Day due date. This week, the couple introduce their baby boy in the latest issue of People, and Campbell has something important to share — Eli, 7 weeks, has hit his first milestone.

Just this week we got our first smile, and it melts your heart. It’s been fantastic. When we wake up in the middle of the night, I’m so excited to see Eli — and it’s been three hours.

Dan adds,

She’s a natural. It’s fabulous to watch.

However, that doesn’t mean it’s been easy. Eli does cry a bit, but Dan has a special secret weapon — TV show theme songs. Campbell reveals,

Eli can be crying, and as soon as Dan breaks into ‘The Facts of Life,’ ‘Diff’rent Strokes,’ or ‘Laverne & Shirley,’ he completely quiets down. We took Eli to the doctor, and he was screaming until Dan started singing the theme song to ‘The Love Boat.’

While pregnant, Campbell had expressed fears about balancing work and motherhood. With her new prime-time show starting in March, Campbell feels ready for the challenge — if only they could line up those conference calls.

My executive producer and I were trying to work our morning conference call around nap time. If we can sync these two things up, then I will be thrilled.

I love the bit about the theme songs! My son calms down if my husband sings ANY James Taylor song. Even ‘Mexico!’

Eli looks like a sweet boy.

She looks so happy – they both do!

I love her comment about being excited to see little Eli when he wakes up…it reminds me of hanging out at my son’s crib when he was a baby just to watch him sleep! :)

Lovely little boy. Hope to see more pics, as he grows into a young boy.
