Denied: Uma Thurman not expecting her third child

Update:  Uma’s boyfriend, Arpad Busson, has denied to Page Six that they are expecting a baby together. When told that Uma looked pregnant in recent photos, he said that it is because "she quit smoking."

Originally posted December 16th: Kill Bill actress Uma Thurman, 37, has been the subject of pregnancy rumors since she hosted the Nobel Concert in Norway, wearing a tight dress that appeared to reveal a baby bump. Uma, who has daughter Maya Ray, 9, and son Levon Roan, 5, with ex-husband Ethan Hawke, 37, has been dating Swiss financier Arpad Busson since July. Arpad has sons Arpad Flynn, 9, and Aurelius Cy, 4 ½, with model Elle MacPherson, 44.

What do you think – is that a baby bump or simply bad angle?

unless that’s a very bad angle shot, I would say she is.
time will tell…

- Kristen on

Well it looks like a bump, her dress seems tight enough that it shouldn’t bunch like that. I guess now we will have to wait and see!

- halifaxhoney on

I’d be happy for her if she was, she’s a good mother!

- Vanessa on

I don’t think so. If you go to gettyimages and look at more pics, it looks more like bloat or just a NORMAL FEMALE BODY. :P

If she’s really pregnant it must be 3 months at most.

- Nineveh on

Bump.

- Anna on

Well if she is, she must be about 3 or 4 month along, which puts conception around August or September, which means she didn’t waste any time, if they just started dating in July.

That’s a little too early in my mind to know that I would want to have sex with someone let alone have unprotected sex or have a baby with someone I had known for such a short time.

- Beverley on

It looks like a baby bump to me, but it could just be a bad angle.

- gianna on

I agree with Beverley. They certainly didn’t waste anytime if she is pregnant and 3-4 months along!

Either way, I’d be happy for her. She does seem like a good mum.

- Risa on

The photos at Getty Images are very interesting …it is very hard to tell what is going on. If she is pregnant, she is certainly not trying to hide it. If she isn’t, it is just an unfortunate dress choice/bad fit. It bunches at the hips, the way a dress does if it’s just a bit small. That makes it tight across the tummy, making it look like she is pregnant even if she isn’t. You can also see some lines (undergarments) under the fabric in the tummy area. For now, I am going to guess that it’s just a bad fit and not a pregnancy.

- BostonMom on

No baby bump. It’s just a poor dress choice and bad posture.

- Melle on

bump! she’s normally fairly active isn’t she? there’s no way she’s had that many burgers all depositing in the same place lol. if she was preg and was trying to hide it, wouldn’t ya wear something else???

- ang on

Not a bump!

Of the entire set at GettyImages, this is probably the worst one. The shadow her arm is casting across her stomach gives a false contour that you don’t see in the other photos.

I agree with other posters – NORMAL FEMALE BODY and bad fit of the dress.

- Ann on

Why is it that every time these poor celebrities get photographed with a bump everyone assumes that they are pregnant? Even Jennifer Garner talked about this…many women have bumps and bulges. It’s only a select few who are lucky enough to have flat washboard abs. If you saw me you would say that I’m pregnant! By the way…I’m not but would love to be…Uma congratulations if you are pregnant…if not thanks for showing us that you are REAL!

- Robin on

Robin- ITA! That is the exact reason that I absolutly refuse to even speculate on (let alone actually believe) celebrity pregnancies until either the celeb confirms it (at which point it obviously isn’t speculation anymore anyway!), or it becomes extremely obvious (ala Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez).

As for the dating thing…I agree, they didn’t waste any time if she is indeed three to four months pregnant. However, is it possible that they have actually been together since before July but just chose not to go public about it until then?

- Annoyomus on

Time will tell if she is expecting. She looks great in that picture though, bump or no bump.

- Natalie S. on

She’s had two kids though she’s usually skinny. I’m perplexed, but I still look like I have a baby bump and I’m 48! : )

- Dianne on

As long as Hollywood starlets continue to exhibit the horrible posture they do, they will constantly be accused of having baby bumps.

- Stef on

How sad when a woman gains weight, we automatically assume she is pregnant.

- Kitty on

The article photo at Page Six looks like there’s no denying it. That bump looks too big to be just a bloat, and I don’t it’s from just quitting smoking, either. She wouldn’t gain weight only in her uterus. =]

- amileigh on

I vote not a bump. God it must suck living in a fish bowl.

- Bohemian Nut on

Seriously folks I’ve had a baby bump for a good 15 years now, of course I can’t live up to hollywood standards and I’ve never done a sit up in my life, but its hard for me to look at a women and immediatly think pregnant, because sometimes its just a little curve where women in ‘normal land’ curve.

- Ivey on

However the pregnancy rumour pans out, good on her for giving up smoking.

This is one issue with parents I get on my high horse about. Strollers, pacifiers, restraints, long hair, I could less – but smoking when you have kids (even if you don’t smoke in front of them) is not only dumb but incredibly selfish.

How could a parent put themself at risk to suffer one of a variety of horrible disease and health problems? It cuts short your time with the kids, both in ducking outside and in terms of lifespan. And if it causes long term health issues, it’s usually the kids who have to clean up the mess. Nice.

- Lilybett on

Let’s all go out on a limb and take her word for it. I called it a “mid-life slump earlier. Why push her to have another kid?
